Rosie walked to Madam Rosmerta's portrait mocktail in hand. "Could your favourite colour perhaps be green like this mocktail in my hand? I call it the Greengage Burst." she asked the portrait lifting the cocktail as a greeting. Hopefully she had guessed the right colour and with that she returned to the table. Meanwhile Magnus and Merlin had made their mocktails. "Those look like fun." Rosie commented and grabbed a glass off butterbeer. Gulping down a third in one go she hummed in delight. "Thanks Merls." she said as she began thinking up more mocktail ideas.

(and everyone) Niall had been quiet as he watched the others chatted and made their custom drinks. He sipped his butterbeer slowly and had a few of the snacks.

"You can try it if you'd like," Magnus offered.

Merlin felt bad for Magnus, especially because he knew how frustrating it was when you tried to do a good job and it fails. "Really it is a pity you didn't get them to do more assignments, yet at least your house got second place this term so maybe it worked a bit."

Merlin smiled to Rosie. "Want to try it? It tastes really good, don't let the glass fool you." He looked happy and wished other to taste his creation so he made some more and divide it into small glasses for his friends. "Come on try it and tell me if you like it, also if you don't like it."

He shrugged. "Oh well, nothing for it. I'm probly not suited for it. Dad was 'eadboy, mum was 'eadgirl. I bet I'll be 'ead detention."

Niall got up and started to make his own drink. He took raspberries for Gryf, Gooseberries for Slytherin, banana for Hufflepuff and blueberries for Ravenclaw. He blended those together with a pinch of sugar. He presented the drink to the portrait. "I amn't in the school yet, so I made a drink for all. I call it Hogwarts Houses

Merlin shook his head. "You are a great prefect, never doubt it." He nudges him. "Oh look Niall is doing a drink!" Merlin suddenly scratched his head. "Was I supposed to show it to the portrait? I totally skipped that."

"I agree with Merls. You're a great prefect, Mags. You can only do so much to motivate people," Drew said. Then with a look at Merlin, he said, "I know, I know, I'm one to talk. No comments, old man," he said playfully.

Seeing Niall's drink, Drew grinned. "that's awesome, Niall!" he said. "i think it's so cool that you included all the houses. Each might be separate but when blended together and unified, they become even more special."

Magnus shook his head. He didn't believe he was all that good. "We'll see if I get asked back," he said with a half smile.

"Yes, show the portrait the drink and guess her favourite colour." He blushed as Drew complimented his drink

Looking around at all the other drinks, Drew decided to try his hand at mixing something. Going over to the counter, he surveyed the choices and began to add a little of this and a little of that which he liked. As he leaned more to fruity flavors, he put in plenty of those juices…apple, raspberry, grape, a dash of lemon and lime for a bit of tartness, a sprinkle of orange peel. He stirred it gently and was please with the swirly effect of the fleck of orange peel in the rich purple drink. The final ingredient was carbonated water to give it fizz and add to the sparkling swirl.

Now what to put it in, Drew wondered to himself. He wanted something different. Even though the drink itself was purple, the boy still had to represent his house colors somehow. His eyes feel on an odd shaped globe glass and his imagination took over. Thankful that he’d been practicing charms and transfigurations, Drew elongated the globe to the shape of a teardrop. Then, drink in hand, he went outside, not caring if he left his friends wondering.

When he returned, Drew had converted a vine he’d found into a delicate, almost filigree looking holder for his drink, charming it to twine around and adhere to the glass. And best of all the vine was Slytherin green! With the shimmery drink in hand, he smiled at his friends and said, “It’s not all green, but I hope it counts since I did include green. The drink itself is darker, like most people think of Slytherins. The glass is shaped like a teardrop because of the hidden tears from misunderstanding. But we’re also cunning and creative and can form beautiful things, such as the holder. My drink represents the darker beauty and swirling mystery of a member of Slytherin house.”

Merlin shook his head at Drew. "I will let it pass this time, just because we won the cup of course." Next term, if he was still a prefect, he will especially make Drew's life impossible over assignments. "I think its a wonderful idea from Niall."

Looking at Magnus Merlin said. "I'm sure they will ask, if not..well it is their lost. It will give you more free time at least."

Looking at Drew's final drink and his explanation made Merlin clap. "Love it! It's charming, really. Can I try it?"

Rosie sipped on the first drink which was made by Magnus. The berry lemonade was both sweet and just that bit sour. She hummed in approval and nodded. "More subtle in flavours and it looks pretty. People would definitely like it and feel easily attracted to it. Plus it is very nice to drink." she complimented. Next she drank for Merlin's skull. "Ooohh!!" she exclaimed. "Scary looking and the spice gives it a little kick you don't expect. Though as it's in a skull and it looks all greenish it's hard to predict anyway. Starting off sweet and fruity with a spicey finish. Nice." she said as if she was the local mocktail connoisseur. Rosie giggled softly and looked in awe at Drew's creation. She had been thinking about transfiguring cups too, but seeing it done this well impressed her. She smiled at Niall as he made an all encompasing drink. One which included everyone.

Merlin smiled after Rosie's compliment. "You described it exactly as I wanted it to be."

Drew blushed at Merlin's clapping but then nodded. "Sure you can," he said and then thought of something. "Oh! Let me go show the portrait first!" He hurried to the portrait and gave a slight bow before saying, "here is my creation, ma'am. I hope that you like it. It's purple, which you don't really think of as being a Slytherin color, but as I think it's the best house and purple is a royal color, it fits I guess. would your favorite color happen to be purple?" he asked. "it would suit a lady," he smiled and then said, "Now if you'll excuse me, I'll just return to my friends."

Once back in the main room with the others, Drew shared his drink with them all. Looking at Rosie, he gave a smile and took out a thin package tied with a rose colored ribbon...her rose bookmark from earlier. "Rosie," he said, "I'd like you to have this. I couldn't find a time to give it to you earlier. I hope you like it. I...I thought of you when I saw it." He blushed slightly and handed the present to the girl.

"Thank you Drew.." she nudged his shoulder and carefully unwrapped the present. Rosie looked at the growing plant on the bookmark and gasped as the buds bloomed into lovely pink roses. "I love it, thank you." she smiled and placed it in her bag. She didn't want to accidentally spill butterbeer on it.

Drew smiled. "You're welcome. I'm glad you like it," he said. "I like your drink too. You must be good at potions since you were so precise in your measurements. And I've never had some of the ingredients before...like the greengage. It's good."

"We'll see," Magnus said. He smiled as Rosie sampled and approved of the drink. "Thanks."

Niall watched as everyone made and sampled drinks. He blushed at the approval of his drink. But he felt jealousy as Drew gave Rosie the bookmark. He focused intently on the bonsai even though he wasn't interested at it right now.

Sipping her butterbeer, Paddy finally thought of an idea for a Gryffindor Mocktail. Taking some strawberries and raspberries, she squashed them in her hand and added them to the glass. Looking around for just the right item, she came across a bottle of lemonade, and half-filled the glass. Stirring the mixture round, it wasn't quite the right shade of red, so she added a small amound of cherryade, before finishing it off with a small cut strawberry on the edge of the glass. She dashed upstairs to the portrait of Madam Rosmerta. "It's probably not the best mocktail you've seen today," she said, "but what do you think of my Bravery in a Glass recipe? I don't suppose your favourite colour would be brown by any chance?"

Paddy looked around in awe at the wide range of quills and inks. She listened to the riddles, and recognised the first one as something her Uncle had told her before. "Voldemort didn't attend the ball, because he had nobody to go with," she said with a grin, "corny answers to riddles are the best, but I haven't a clue on those other two riddles" she added.

Soon enough it was time to move to the next tour stop. The group made their way to the quill shop. As they entered the shop she looked at the variety of strange quills the shopkeeper had collected. She had no idea which one used to belong to Dumbledore and she shook her head. The riddles had her groaning and she hoped Magnus or Drew would quickly solve them. She slow clapped when Paddy answered the first one with a soft chuckle. "Just not my cup of tea. Glad at least someone likes them though. Mr. Scrivenshaft will like that." Rosie said nudging Paddy's shoulder. She didn't hate puns but they did annoy her quite a bit.

Rosie walked to the back of the shop to try a soft looking pale lavender quill. She didn't know where it was from and thought it must have been charmed for that colour. Satisfied with the ease she could use it with she picked it and made her way to the parchment stack. She selected a floral letter set as well as numerous sheets for her homework assignments. Some parchment was of a higher quality meant for art class or her private projects. Rosie paid for the paper and accepted the lavender quill as her freebie.

Magnus smiled as Paddy made her cocktail and then they were able to go to the quill shop. Looking around the boy was smiling as he started piling inks and quills into one of the shop’s baskets. He’d need new ones anyway, might as well get them now. He’d have to think carefully on what to get for the free one.

Going to Scrivenshaft’s was a double edged sword. On the one hand it was a wonderful shop filled with some of the coolest looking feathers and inks ever. On the other hand it meant the tour was almost over. He spent awhile looking for a rose colour one. When he found it, he set it in his basket. He found a mood colour changing quill that looked like it had belonged to a snowy owl at one time. Putting two of those in his basket, he then spotted some handsome looking eagle quills and picked up three. Next he found a beautiful scarlet quill which he selected as well. He picked three swan feathers and one mallard feather and added those to his basket. He also picked up a bottle of teal ink. Then he picked his free quill which was a peacock quill. He paid for the items and went over and started giving them out.

He gave Magnus, Drew and Merlin each one of the eagle quills. “Thank ye for the gifts and all.” Was it presumptuous of him to want them to write to him?

He gave Paddy the scarlet quill. “Thank ya for the cat and everything. I know its not much but I wanted you to have this.”

To Rosie her the rose feather. “Happy belated birthday,” he said shyly, “I hope you like this.”

He gave Gaia two of the swan feathers. “I wanted to thank ya for everything ya did for me and all. I’d like to accept my invitation to Hogwarts. Could ya take my agreement to the school please? And can ya give the second feather to Miss Poppy. I had a lot of fun.”

When he found Eros, he gave the teen two quills—one of the colour changing ones and the mallard one. The bright green of the quill was the prettiest in the store he thought. “Happy belated birthday. This one, changes colour based on yar mood and I thought ya’d like the duck one cos it was green and ya’re in Slytherin.” He smiled and added, “I’d still like to do that thing if you want…”

He was keeping the peacock quill and the mood changing one for himself. The remaining swan feather was for Madame.
