Welcome to the club! I agree with that merges shouldn't really be on your radar at the beginning - not til you have a decent grasp of IVs and skill inheritance, at least. :) Once you have a healthy barracks running and a few units you want to build in the short term I'd start looking beyond that. At the beginning of the game, though, I'd say to just have fun with it and see who you do and don't like using. I spent my first year just promoting whoever and whatever without much care for strategy - instead building a diverse range of units in my barracks - and think it was worthwhile.

Hmm I'd probably stick with -HP on Marth, as you'll make up points on his refine, but -Res is an option as it's pretty underwhelming anyway and his weapon should be able to check dragons. +Spd is probably his best boon as a defensive way to prevent doubles; he's fast enough to make it work, imo. His refine is his most powerful aspect, easily. I'd probably run Fury, a Chill and two Drives as pure support. Roy is probably less useful in Arena because his strength is as an enemy phase tank and innate QR makes him more like to KO than soften for your bonus units, but he has great mixed phase outside of that, probs much like Fae/Nowi.

- I think one of the Marths I have is -hp + att, but I think I would rather the speed. Maybe I'll just continue to merge the -att one I have, and hope a better IV comes along at some point. Bride Ninian is chill attack, not chill speed... less useful for aversa, but maybe more useful for Marth, would increase his overall bulk a bit, he's already got +eff falchion, Fury (though I'm running Mirror Strike on him, which is pretty fun, helps against dem dragons, fury is probably better for arena though, and meshes well with renewal effect), and Drive Speed. I probably should build more diversity of units to try and buff my AA score, I usually do one run and get around 4.5k and then just leave it. lol, yeah, I don't really like Roy, I don't really want to build him, but he has been the bonus unit a few times, might still be worthwhile to see if I have one with good IVs to at the very least promote to 5*.

I think I read somewhere that the Nintendo Investors report said V3 would launch towards the end of the year. Book 2 launched end of November, so it wouldn't be surprising to me if this Feh Channel was the version 2.11 update, but had the trailer for V3 to hype. We've had nothing on V3 so I'd be surprised if they just dropped it without any build it. I also sort of think Beast units are definitely coming with V3 - I'd be surprised if the Radiant Dawn banner in January isn't going to be the Laguz units, with the Wolfskins/Kitsunes/Murderbunnys as the first banner of V3. /prediction (I would like a Murderbunny, Panne was one of my Awakening favs.)

As for the Feh Channel... I'm a little bit sad how a lot of Reddit has already decided it's going to be trash, but I'm excited. Always keen to see who's next to be added, and I hope we get another revamp of the summoning pool as some more demotions as sorely needed) but I don't really think IS will ever create a skill shop/skill refinery because that will sort of defeat the point of summoning. Biggest wish is for Leo to make it to the 4* pool for that lovely lovely Quick Riposte at 4*, and yeah, Mist/Luke need to be in the 3*-4* pool if IS won't give them any more banners. Would also be nice to get the older GHB added to the pool a la Kaze.

It would also be really great if they added a way to gift Heroes to friends because can totally take the spare Morgans and you can have all my spare OG Eirikas.

Welcome, hope you are having fun with the game! Ahh you have Innes, he's one of my most wanted C: He does have bad defence for facing something like bows or daggers, but his resistance is great, so is a better mage/dragon killer.

- He probably has a -def IV. -Def IV is probably not the worst for him, since he can hit at a range, he can usually avoid physical damage (excpt for all the prevalence of DC now) but Innes is primarily a mage killer, his res is his strong point. You might have to baby him a little, but being able to bait mages is usually really helpful.
Just checked his IVs, sounds like he actually isn't -def, Innes just has really bad def! lol. But yeah, his role would be to stand just in the range of a mage and snipe them off. Especially useful for maps where the enemies won't move until you get into their range (I have a similar -def IV Kinshi Hinoka, Bow with really high res and very little def, but she is a star at picking off mages) Most units will have a garbage or dump stat that would actually benefit the unit to be even lower, in order to increase another stat. Usually -HP is a good way to go, but sometimes it's good to drop something else. Some units, like Innes, are just play a very niche roll, -def is actually recommended for him since it's so low to begin with, it doesn't really hurt to make it lower, either way, he won't be able to tank a physical hit.

- Murderbunnies are the best. I had to do a male MU run through of awakening to get Taguel!Morgan, she was so amazing, and just the cutest! I hope we get Janaff and Ranulf and Mordecai! I think more likely we'll get Tibarn, Naila, Neasala, and Cagneighs (or however you spell it!) (probably not one of the Herons on initial release of the laguz, but that would be awesome) Really, I just hope we get laguz, and not the dawn brigade OTL. I would be ok with like, Ilyana/Zihark/Tormod/Haar/Peleas too, I'm just worried cus it is Radiant Dawn they're talking about, and the only real notables that are RD exclusives are the Dawn Brigade... :(

it's looking like an exciting gauntlet either way, so i don't mind if rein loses! it's enough to not have a really unbalanced gauntlet or a miserable same hell :3 and ugh, i'd totally send you my extra eirikas if i could. i rolled two of her at once, one 3* and 4* and i was. so unhappy lmao

oh, i wish i could swap even just my 3s ;w; it'd make some of these merge projects so less stressful, haha i'm also praying for demotions and for them to bring back the 4 banners. even with the demotions, the pools are so large it's hard to get even basic 3*s. i haven't seen a hinata in ages ;o;

if you haven't yet, i would recommend picking up your free fjorm from playing book 2 chapter 1, and your free legendary ike from playing xenologue 3! (unless you wanna go through the story in order, which is ok too!)

as for innes' paper defense -- get him a reposition buddy! pick someone you like with good def (and inherit swap or reposition on to them if they don't already have it), and support them with innes. innes gets a meat shield, and they both get extra stats from being partnered and staying near each other :D

- And to add to what Jensen said: Don't forget the Free 5* from the Brave banner, general consensus is that Veronika is the most useful, but if you don't have any strong armours, Brave Hector is also a very solid choice. And if you don't mind spending a few real $$ on the game, the starter pack which gets you the Black Knight is also worthwhile picking up. (BK can literally solo sweep a bunch of the Grand Hero Battle (GHB) maps. There are several online guides for these.) Speaking of online guides, don't instantly throw away any of those easy to get daily units, especially Olivia, there are a lot of good guides for beating the harder maps with just those units. All the ones you get as rewards, from the maps or quests, have neutral IVs (no stats increased or decreased) for everyone, so it makes it easy to copy strategies using the same AI manipulation.

(It makes me think we should maybe do a list with our friends codes somewhere, there is no Grand Conquest or VG running now but when it does come back having some strong units in your brigade can definitely help - and it's fun too getting to try other people's units and builds!)

well... the reddit community is usually very negative and salty, especially at the moment with lack of new content (... and this banner reveal doesn't help I guess XD) I'm still excited about the Feh Channel though. Getting GHB units into the pool could be really nice for those wanting to +10 them and getting IVs can make some of them better too!

Hahaha I'm actually jealous! I pulled my first Innes the other day and he's +Def -Spd which is definitely amongst his worst IVs, if not the worst. He'll start to shine if/once you unlock his refine, which allows him to attack magic users and dragons without counterattacks. Dragons have been the big threat for a solid year now so it's a pretty handy skill. He definitely has a set role but he succeeds in his niche.

Yeah I agree with your predictions. New banner basically confirms 2.11 (it's a paralogue, too) so 3.0 has to be the next patch with Fates beasts then Laguz in January. I think that's a very likely outcome... but also didn't predict the new banner at all (who could) so lol.

Camilla is the ultimate troll move. M!Corrin's B skill felt inevitable - I saw someone on Reddit comment that there will probably be a skill to counter all the follow-up nonsense that's been happening recently and was like huh, true. And there it is.

I kinda like the idea- a synthetic, suspended reality - of the banner but... not the time, to be honest. It's a bit weird because L!Corrin has been an idea for so long so this might? put a pause on the plans. Who even knows at this point, huh.

Oh well, at least this frees up more time for Feh Channel.

I will have to google/youtube how to look up IVs. /failure at this sort of stuff :'D Very useful to know about his strength v the mages, I feel like I should have inherently noticed that by now that he has been battling and picking off mages really easily compared to other classes but I haven't without your input haha. Also, I keep getting ones I don't want. Still waiting on a Sumia, good level Effie, and non-Halloween version of Niles. Also, still haven't seen Vaike unless I skipped too fast over the main stories (is it bad that I have no idea what is going on plot-wise because I'm too angsty and click away to battle away? yeah probably T_T)

Yeah, I got Fjorm up to level 40 now. n_n Ike, I got, I just don't like him enough to play him. xD I partnered Innes with Olivia (pegasus knight'ed version). ❤️ She can either dance him into a second turn or finish the enemy off for him and they look cute together. o3o

Vaike isn't in yet, it's a crime! Nor my best brainy gal Miriel nor fave invisible tank wall Kellam. Sumia, Maribelle and Libra only arrived in July, surprisingly, considering their popularity. Hopefully we'll get the rest of the collection soon.

And haha maybe it's the best to be in the dark about IVs! It's a bummer to find out your fave is -Atk. Just don't stress about it too much and you'll pick up stuff along the way. You aren't missing a lot in terms of story! Book 2 is a little better but still a mixed bag at best.

- yeah, Camilla being on the banner is just a giant kick in the teeth. And yeah, Corrin's B skill was inevitable, they make things OP, then they release counters for it, like they did with Dragon Emblem, now they gotta nerf Armour Emblem again cus they made it too OP agian. I expected it to be in a unique seal though, like Hardy Bearing. It's a pretty crazy skill when you think about it, since it also nerfs QR, and breaker skills. Pretty uninterested in the banner as a whole, so more time to save orbs.

- Vaike! I knew there was one from Awakening I was still waiting on that should have been on my list of units I'm allowed to go ham on with my orbs. I'm max friends at the moment, but when I get a chance I'll see if there's any inactive people I can purge and look up my ID for you.

FEH has no love for Vaike. :'( /cry Aw, thanks! :) I don't see a trade option for friends which is a pity but it's cool to see your chosen units.

So far the only utility to friends is during the Voting Gauntlet (where you can play with the friend's lead unit if friend is in the same team as you), and you can use your friends lead units in brigades too (which are useful for the Rival Domains that runs each week and the Grand Conquests events). Who knows, with the Feh channel tonight, maybe they will reveal a new feature for friends? :P I'm going to add you! My Caeda's build is totally unoriginal but she's +10 and her refined weapon is effective against armored and cavalry so I hope she will be useful to you (:

i thought the feh channel was tomorrow, but it was actually tonight. they're releasing an additional pvp mode tomorrow (aether raids) that lets you earn "heroic grails," which can be exchanged for 4* ghb/tempest units!! :3

there's some additional restraints, like you can get a maximum of 20 of each unit through grails, etc, but i think grails'll be like sacred coins where you don't get very many each week unless you're very good at arena assault (or raids in this case), so i'm meh about that part p:

aether raids is a kind of limited town-building + pvp raid hybrid... thing (the feature they hinted at in that survey months ago, from what i can tell). i'm reserving judgement on it until i get some time to play with it (during the weekend, 'cause i got stuff to do tomorrow o; )

- I'm imagining something like the Street pass castles in Fates? If so, bleh. Generally opposed to pvp modes in freemium games, really enhances the difference between the 'rich' and the 'poor'.
