Mimsy nodded eagerly. "I is very happy sir."

"We'll get to rights and stuff soon," Magnus said, as if he heard Eirik's thoughts. Or maybe it was his own?

Magnus saw Poppy enter and nodded to her. ((the start of the rp is on the first page under spoilers. Just learnt the basic on what a house elf is <3)

Eirik gave Mimsy a smile, and it dropped when he looked at Magnus. He nodded, but it was obvious he was not liking a number of things that were considered to be 'normal treatment' for house elves.

Eirik glanced over to see Poppy slip in and take a seat. Inwardly he scowled, he was getting in a foul mood. He pulled out his flask and drank deeply from it, trying not to get grumpy, then capped it and put it away.

"I wonder which came first...," Sam mused aloud "...The wizard who wanted a servant, or the elf who wanted to serve.' She scratched her head wondering how long House elves lived, and what would be the best way to ask. "Mimsy, how did you come to serve the Lee family, and how many years ago was that?" She finally asked.

"Mimsy is eighty years old, Miss. Mimsy's mother looked after the Lees before Mimsy was born. Mimsy started serving as soon as she was able to help serve. Mimsy's line goes way back with the Lee family line. Mimsy is having portraits of old house elves from way back before Hogwarts was even founded," she stated fondly.

Poppy was impressed that Magnus () was not just any Lee. It was a common surname, so it surprised her that he had been taken in by the old wizarding family.

She felt conflicted too as she focused her attention on Mimsy. House elves had always made her uncomfortable. Mimsy seemed delighted to serve, but Poppy had felt very awkward the handful of times a house elf had personally waited on her. She hoped to learn as much as she could.

Eirik () and Sam () both looked a bit unsettled too. The former looked more serious than usual and the latter seemed confused.

Paddy frowned at the elf. "You're not stupid, Mimsy," she replied, "I just didn't phrase my question very well. I'm not used to talking to House Elves, and was scared I'd say something that you might feel was offensive." She smiled at Mimsy, as she listened to the answers to all the other questions.

Eirik looked thoughtful. Then a question came to his mind, so he asked it. "Mimsy, do you know what is common for your kind once they get too old to serve your family anymore..? Is there a retirement village where you can live out the rest of your days in peace, or have you heard of other...options..? I would think that after so many dedicated years of service, there is a plan for old age."

He wondered if that plan varied from family to family.

Mimsy listened to Paddy and shook her head. "Miss Paddy need not say sorry to Mimsy. Mimsy does not mind. Miss Paddy may ask Mimsy whatever she pleases. Mimsy will try to answer."

She giggled as Eirik asked his question. "Mr Eirik is so silly. What do we needs with a retirement village? We is happy with our familes. We stay with our families. We is not stopping caring for them. Wizards is not stopping living when they is old."

Keet took the ham in surprise and stifled a laugh, "Oh Mimsy, thank you, but you didn't have to do that. You are sweet, this is much more than enough, I didn't really need anything. Would you like to share it with me? Would anyone else?" she asked sheepishly, before putting the ham carefully on the snack table. Keet was feeling a little guilty, she hadn't meant to make the elf feel obliged to bring her food. She politely munched on a piece of ham though, and listened to the questions her other classmates had.

"Mimsy is happy to Miss. Mimsy likes pleasing." The little elf squeaked with surprise and almost fell over again. "Oh nos Miss, Mimsy is content. Mimsy is having biscuits from nice boy," she pointed to Merlin () "They is honey flavoured." She petted Keet's leg. "But Mimsy thanks you."

Knowing that she was a bit late again, Elizabeth slipped into the pavillon. She had overheard Eirik talking about this workshop in the common room and seen it on the bulletin board as well, but the latest homework needed more research than she thought. House elves were an interesting topic and she had wondered why none of the official classes dealt with them. Hoping not to interrupt anyone as she knew that the workshop had already started, she quickly took a free seat which was next to Eirik. "Sorry that I'm late...I missed the time a bit.", Elizabeth said and smiled apologising. Being late shouldn't become a habit of her... She stroke over her skirt and looked around, noticing the tiny elf. She remembered her of the family elf at home and looked well cared for and wondered if she was one of the Hogwarts elves, but as she arrived late, she didn't want to stand out by directly asking questions.

Outfit Not Found

Kyros ran as fast as he could the way between the library and the pavillon where the next workshop would be held, almost running over a few startled Hufflepuffs before shouting an apology and dashing again. He was mentally admonishing himself from losing his sense of time between the books, homework and the chronicle lack of sleep. I'm going to need a Time Turner before this term even ends! Almost jumping down the staircase to the outside, slowing down once he saw the pavillon so he wouldn't literally crash into the workshop. It would be memorable, but not in a way I'd like.

He took a minute outside to breathe and look presentable before politely entering the room. "Sorry to interrupt! It won't happen again." He flashed Magnus and his colleagues a quick apologising smile before making way to the seat Eirik had saved for their group. He mumbled a quiet 'thank you' to his vampire friend for that, as he wasn't sure he'd get a place to sit otherwise.

Once properly sit, Kyros turned his attention to a tiny elf who seemed to be the focus of this workshop. It has been a few years since I last saw a House Elf. The boy had good memories of the one he had known, a female elf named Prim, who was nothing short of gentle and motherly. This one even reminded him of her, with those big, sweet looking eyes. Producing a quill and his bullet journal from his backpack, he wondered for a bit if he should begin making questions to Mimsy or not. He rarely thought about House Elves, to tell the truth. Their presence was just so ordinary to him.

Suddenly, he had an insight, and raised his hand slightly to call attention to himself. "Mimsy, do elves share stories with each other?" He was honestly curious, almost leaning in his chair. "Your lineages are very old, so do you talk about your ancestors too?"

Magnus nodded a greeting to Elizabeth and Kyros . "No worries," the boy said. He honestly didn't mind anyone coming in late at all. Mimsy looked at the boy addressing her and nodded. "Oh, yes, sir. We is talking to each other sir. Mimsy talked with her mother before Mimsy's mother died. Mimsy's mother would tell her stories of other house elves in our line and what they did to serve the Lees."

Merlin nods to Mimsy's answers and Magnus, then kept listening to the other questions. He smiled when she pointed at him with so much gratitude for the cookies.

Eirik was and wasn't surprised at Mimsy's answer. It seemed that this was a species completely happy with the way things were, and had no desire for changes.

Eirik smiled when Elizabeth slipped in and sat down next to him.

"It's alright," Eirik whispered. "We are asking questions of Mimsy, the Lee family's house elf. She is very nice."

Eirik was happy to see that Kyros had made it. He knew his house mates were busy, and was glad they could find some time to come down.

"You are welcome," he whispered to Kyros.

"Oh, thank you for making that clear.", Elizabeth replied to Eiriks explanation, "and thanks for reserving some seats as well." She wondered what she could ask Mimsy as she didn't want to repeat any question that may have already been asked, then listened to Kyros' question and Mimsys answers. "Mimsy, if I may ask, what do you think about S.P.E.W., I mean Society for the Promotion of Elfish Welfare? The organisation Hermione Weasley, née Granger, founded in her school years, because many house elves were mistreated then.", she asked the little elf with an encouraging smile.

Mimsy looked at the girl and her eyes went sad and she shook her head. "Mimsy is knowing of the name because Master Bartley works at the Minstry of Magic. Master Bartley is liking her, but Mimsy is thinking Ms Weasley is not knowing what she is talking about and should keep her nose out of things we is not wanting her to get involved with." The little elf made a hmph-ing sound and folded her arms looking cross.

Magnus closed in a little and gave the elf another hug. He bent down and whispered something to the elf and she calmed visibly. She went back to Elizabeth and bowed. "Mimsy is sorry. She is loosing her tempter when you is asking question." The elf put her hand on the girl's knee.

Eirik whispered " You are very welcome, Elizabeth." When the girl asked her question, Eirik got a bad feeling...but was still surprised at the attitude Mimsy got when she answered her. 'yep,' he thought, 'not going to push to help them for any changes, they are on their own.'

He was pleased to see that Mimsy apologized, though. He knew that Elizabeth could get very quiet if things went poorly, and hoped that wouldn't be the case this time.

"Well, Mimsy, everyone is entitled to their own opinion, both yours -which was asked, and others. I think, though, if you are happy, I could see that you wouldn't think too highly of someone trying to change things that could upset your happiness.

May I ask, why do you think people wanted to help your kind, if things were so good, as you say, to start with..? Perhaps there were problems, maybe not in your situation, but possibly in other house elves's lives, that someone would think that your kind needed help. That could be a possibility, yes..?"

Eirik continued. "and if someone thought that someone needed help, being kind hearted they couldn't sit by and not say or do something about it. Does that make them wrong...? Do they deserve scorn simply because they were trying to help in what they viewed was a situation that needed help..?"

He cleared his throat before continuing. "Now, I am not saying anyone is right or wrong here, I just am posing an alternative point of view, that perhaps Ms Weasley's actions were not misplaced. Again, though, you are entitled to your opinion about it, because its quite obvious, in your case, you had a wonderful life."

He gave Mimsy a smile, and waited for the elf to reply.

Elizabeth looked a bit irritated upon Mimsy's reaction as her question wasn't meant in an offensive way, but she relaxed quickly as she knew that some house elves were very strict about traditions. "My apologies, I didn't want to offend you, Mimsy", she replied and looked friendly at her. "I was just curious about your opinion and the organisation crossed my mind." She had really wondered why house elves were so content and devoted to serve a family that they didn't want to hear about a possible change. Mimsy looked really happy to be with the Lee's, though. Elizabeth was wondering what Mimsy would reply to Eirik's question and waited for her answer in anticipation.

(OOC; I may not reply today anymore as I've got a very bad headache. Just didn't want to disappear from the conversation. :'D )

Mimsy didn't look pleased with Eirik's further questions. She looked like she was getting more agitated by the moment. "Mimsy is not wanting change. Mimsy is not wanting misguided witches getting nose in business that is not hers. Ms Weasley is not understanding, she is not house elf. She is needing to do things for humans. Would Mr Eirik like having 'helping' when he is not wanting it?"

the elf looked back to Elizabeth and smiled. "Mimsy is understanding. You is nice girl, Mimsy is sorry for her outburst."
