"My cat is with my mother so he is fine, I prefer to leave him there since I doubt he would appreciate the craziness of school life." Merlin blushed after Eirik asked about Thunder in the bath. "Well lets say Thunder got into trouble and I ended up making a fool of myself, he got into a pipe and it was hard to get him out so I ended up naked in a hallway and a bunch of Hufflepuff saw me. I don't even know how that happened." He hit his face with the palm of his hand. "I can be such a fool, but that teach me not to leave my wand ever in my room." Then he whispered softly. "The bath is much, much better and big."

Eirik nodded, he could understand that not all pets would appreciate all the noise and strangers that were a part of the school experience.

Eirik's eyes widened behind his sunglasses, and he had to stop himself from laughing out loud. "That must have been...quite the...experience, for you, Merlin. I can see why he is not allowed in there any more, but he did teach you a valuable lesson. " A smile was coming to the corner of his mouth, and he tried to will it away. "Pets can be...cheeky, I believe is the word you use here. I just called them PItAs, short for 'pain in the *sses. Is is really....?" Eirik asked...? "I would love to see it one day, just for curiosity's sake."

Then he leaned back in his chair, trying to get the vision of a naked merlin out of his head. Poor guy...

He watched Magnus () fussing with the tablecloths, and adjusting things a little here and there. He looked nervous, and Eirik wondered why ever he would be. Then he glanced toward the door, starting to get a little impatient that his friends weren't here yet, but he knew they had things to do before they could arrive...he couldn't help it if he was a little speedier than they were. 'Patience, patience patience, you have all the time in the world,' he reminded himself, and sighed, trying to relax.

Keet was both anxious and excited about this new workshop. Magical creatures were one of her favorite subjects, but she realized that she probably would not know many other people there yet. To ease her anxiety, she had brought along Disco, her violently green pet fwooper(silenced of course). She slowed down as she approached the pavilion, then glanced shyly through the draped fabric. Looking around, she smiled nervously at everyone, then quietly took a seat on one of the pillows near the back. Disco, who had previously been perched on her shoulder, hopped onto her head and peered into her face while bobbing his head. She stifled a giggle, moved him back to her shoulder, and sat attentively.

"Nothing wrong with that," Magnus said honestly, "I mean it 'appens when it 'appens you know? Take me mum and dad. Dad didn't 'ave any friends but 'e liked it that way. 'E was on the ravenclaw team and one day at a game me Mum was in such a rush to make a score she knocked dad off 'is broom and 'e was in the 'ospital wing for a week. Then they started dating."

Magnus was about to head over to Eirik when he saw a new girl he didn't know so went over to say hello. "'ello, me name's Magnus Lee, Ravencalw Prefect. Nice ta meetcha." ((of course, welcome and lemme know if you need anything <3))

Magnus could sense Eirik's antsyness, but that was likely because the boy was antsy himself.

Keet smiled anxiously, then spoke a bit shakily, "Hi Magnus, nice to meet you. I'm Keet Arlie, Ravenclaw." Disco was doing a dance on her shoulder now; he liked meeting new people, but he could sense Keet's nerves. She giggled a bit at his antics. "Sorry, my fwooper Disco is a real character." ((Thanks!))

"Oh aren't you just the cutest widdle thing," Magnus said to Disco, letting the bird sniff his hand. "Please to meet you Keet."

"Same to you, Magnus," she replied. Disco investigated Magnus' hand, then bobbed his head happily in approval. Keet laughed, "It looks like you are alright in Disco's book. We are looking forward to your lesson."

Eirik watched a girl tentatively walk into the pavilion. He hadn't seen her before, and wondered if she was new to the school, or just the workshops. Either way, he took note of her, and gave a smile and a nod when she looked his way. Seeing Magnus come over to speak with her her after she settled in, he heightened his hearing to listen to their conversation.

'A fwooper,' he thought, 'that would require some maintenance.' He focused his senses on the bird, taking in every detail and committing them to memory. He had never seen a fwooper before, only in texts.

Keet shifted slightly, noticing Eirik's interest in her colorful bird. "Would you like to meet Disco? He doesn't bite. Fwoopers get a bit of a bad reputation, because of their calls. They make very entertaining and sweet pets though, as long as you keep them silenced." Disco attempted a chirp, but of course nothing came out. She smiled, glad she had brought her bird. He had made it easier for her to talk to new people.

Eirik stood up and walked over to where Keet and Disco were sitting. "Hello, I'm Eirik, " he said, with a smile. "Yes, I would love to meet Disco, he is absolutely beautiful. I just hope that I don't smell too strongly of my cats to upset him."

"I'm Keet, nice to meet you" she smiled back with a little wave. "Thank you, he does love compliments. Step up, Disco," she said to her bird, holding her finger up to his chest so that he could hop on. Disco obliged, stepping onto her finger. She held him out so that he was closer to Eirik. "I think you should be fine, fwoopers don't have the best sense of smell. They are naturally curious, though," she said, watching Disco turn his head to the side to have a better look at Eirik.

Eirik watched the interaction of Disco and Keet. "The two of you seem to have a wonderful understanding...sense of communication. " Eirik cocked his head as well, taking in Disco from various angles. "Have you had any...issues..with him..? The books don't get too in depth speaking about their day to day behavior, only the warnings and that lovely quills are made from their feathers. How do they compare to say, owls..being kept as a companion ? Not that I have had an owl..but, " he shrugged. "I am just curious how much of a delightful little friend he is to you."

Keet nodded. "I have always sort of had an affinity with birds, an understanding, if you will." She thought about Eirik's question for a moment, "Well, there is the silencing charm of course, which needs to be done properly so that you don't go mad. They can also be a bit messy with their eating habits. Disco eats a lot of fruit and seeds, and sometimes he will fling them everywhere! They have a lovely temperament though, and are very energetic. I take Disco out a lot so he has plenty of space to stretch his wings." Disco flapped his wings and listened to Keet. "I suppose those things could make them a bit high maintenance for some people. I actually have an owl as well, and their personalities are definitely different. I would say that owls tend to be more aloof and independent, whereas fwoopers are more dependent and outwardly affectionate. It's not that owls do not show affection, they are just more reserved about it. Think of cats vs dogs personality wise. The owl is more cat-like, the fwooper more dog-like. Does that make sense?" Keet smiled.

Outfit Not Found Paddy ran down towards the lake, hoping she wasn't too late for the workshop. Her pets had taken a bit longer to get settled in the dorm than she'd anticipated, and she'd needed to cast yet another charm on her homework to stop Snowden chewing the parchment. She'd been curious about House Elves ever since she'd the Lee's Elf in her first term - despite coming from a wizarding family, she'd never encountered House Elves before (she'd always assumed they wouldn't want to work for a werewolf). Entering the pavilion Magnus had set up, she glanced around to see who was already there.

Outfit Not Found Sam hurried up to the group gathering by the lake. Her gray owl Umbra soared overhead, glaring sullenly at the smaller snowy owl who was currently perched on her shoulder, eyeing the little black and white king snake coiled around her neck.

"I can't leave these three alone for a minute" She explained breathlessly smiling at Magnus. As if to prove Sam's statement, Umbra spit a pellet of undigested fur and bones at her head, before heading into the Forbidden forest. Sighing in exasperation at the disgruntled bird, Sam headed for the snack table and bulletin board. "House elves? Cool! Always see them around the kitchens, but I don't know much about 'em. Dead handy to have around when you want a snack tho... Speaking of snacks..., ummm, awesome salsa! Tastes like home." Spotting the incredibly bright green bird, she derailed mid-praise, and gasped "Wow! Is that a fwooper?"

Keet turned to smile at Paddy and Sam, who had just joined the group. She chuckled at Sam's reaction to her bird. "Yes, this is Disco." Disco bobbed his head in greeting. "It looks like you have a few pets yourself!"

Sam grinned sheepishly. "Yeah, I seem to have got myself a bit of a menagerie. This is Chua." she said, indicating the snake around her neck. "It was such a nice day that he wanted to get some fresh air. This owl is Albedo, and Umbra is the attitudinal great gray. I'm Sam, pleasedt'meetcha. What do you use to keep Disco from singing?"

She smiled back "I know the feeling. I have an owl as well, Ophelia, an Eastern Screech. She is in the owlery at the moment, having a nap. Your owls are lovely, and Chua too!" Disco looked interested with all of Sam's pets. "Disco wanted some fresh air as well. I'm Keet, it's good to meet you too. I just use a silencing charm to keep him from singing. I don't want him driving everyone mad," she chuckled.

Eirik smiled at Keet's analysis of Disco vs owls. "Yes, I can understand the difference, sounds like I would love one myself...except my Kiki is a birder, so.." he laughed," I think I will hold off in acquiring one. He certainly seems wonderful though."

Eirik saw Paddy enter the tent, and he waved her over. "Hello, good to see you, " he said, happily. He watched as a girl with a snake and an owl head over to talk with them. He waited for introductions, and said "Hello Sam, I am Eirik, nice to meet you, Chua, Albedo and briefly Umbra. They are beautiful. Yes, isn't Disco lovely..?"

Keet chuckled "Oh dear, I think that is probably a good decision on your part, then." Disco bobbed his head as if to agree. "That is why I don't keep cats.. I would be starting a food chain!"
