Hubby actually took a day off work - he has 11 vacation days left and will lose most of them again this year because the man can never seem to take a day off and not work...he's currently sitting at the table working on his laptop and fielding calls...ugh! I think HR is going to roll them over again, like it matters, he never uses them all so adding more is kind of pointless...
Anywho, we're headed to the outlet mall this morning! Trying to get our shopping finished up. Have one more big gift to get Nicholas, though he keeps changing his mind what he wants, and then stocking stuffers for everyone... Picked up the order from Things Remembered and they turned out beautiful! Saved so much money on the items but the engraving is an arm and a leg, none the less they turned out great and I'm so glad I ordered them!
Life is better when you're laughing <3
We didn't make it to the movies last night. We're planning to go next week instead.
I still have quite a bit of shopping to do. Today is my mom's birthday, and the first gift I wanted to get her fell through, so now I'll be scrambling at lunch to find something for her at the mall. Lots of other stuff to buy too. I hope I can get it all done!
Good luck with your shopping Mina and Theresa! I'm hoping to finish tomorrow since it's payday!
Day at good day at work!

Hi everyone. It's Christmas BREEEEAAAAAK!! YAY!!
First year back teaching (I've missed it,) and now I get to enjoy two weeks off over the holidays. I'm glad to read about everyone's wonderful holiday preps.
Hope you feel better, Karen!
I plan on getting out and getting a little more shopping done nearby, since we lost our heat two nights ago and I need to be ready for the tech when/if he calls to say the part is ready and he is one his way.
Do I have to pick just one? My favorites are episode 1(a lot of people say it's the worst but I loved it), 3, and 4; not necessarily in that order.
I really did enjoy Rogue One but you've never seen most of those characters before and you'll never see most of them again.(I kept trying to figure out at the beginning of the movie who the characters were in the plot moving forward, but most of them have never been directly mentioned before)
I did watch episode 4 after I got home last night. I enjoyed it more than I ever have, after watching Rogue One! As Rogue One was finishing up, I kept thinking, it feels like there is "A New Hope"! :P
I dont get to see many movies in theaters, we tend to pick 2 or 3 a year because it is quite expensive for everyone to go so we tend to wait for DVD. Sad when the popcorn costs more than the movie.
Matinee tickets were $8 yesterday. The kids got some stale nachos that were $8.50 :( We don't see many movies at the theater either. There's not a lot of movies that I think are going to be good enough that I can't wait for the DVD
We don't go too often either. And our theater is offering it in standard, 3D and IMAX 3D - not sure what one we're going to go to yet. It might be cool to see in IMAX, given the subject matter.
We usually skip the 3D, but we accidentally went to see Mad Max in 3D and really enjoyed it. The prices can really get up there though.
Tickets here are 8 for matinee as well, popcorn and a drink is 15. We chose deadpool for the last one of the year. Dont worry everyone was over 21. After seeing it I was glad of it. I love deadpool although he is a bit too graphic, guess hes my guilty pleasure. However I recommended anyone with kids really should not take them but then I was told that it wasnt any worse than others... guess Im too pollyanna.
I thought Deadpool was good too. We waited for DVD for that one though. I honestly can't remember the last one we saw in the movies. I had wanted to see Suicide Squad, but am glad we didn't - it wasn't very good.
Maybe the last Star Wars was the last one we saw in the movies. Over the years, Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings/The Hobbit and Star Wars were the ones that brought me out to the theater. (Waiting for Fantastic Beasts though.)
For us it has been Harry Potter, Twilight, and Hunger Games. Also the Lone Ranger which despite critics my family loved it. There is nothing wrong with the horse lol he was the true star.
Oh, I did see the first 3 Hunger Games in the theater too, but saw the last one on DVD.
We did all of HP, twilight, LotR/Hobbit, Hunger Games, and Star Wars at the theater, usually on opening night. We did go to fantastic beasts and I'm glad I did! We also went to the first 2 divergent series movies at the theater but waited on the 3rd one. My daughter doesn't like the superhero movies so I wait on all of those. It has to be something we really nerd out over since a DVD costs about as much as a couple movie tickets!
I can't wait to watch it! And I think it's ok to like them all and not have a favorite :)
I only buy a few of the dvds, I did buy deadpool and all the Harry potter and twilights, others I just rent. I agree dvd is the cost of tickets but I can pause and rewatch those. Couple time at the theater I have missed parts because someone in the theater was too loud. Not sure why some people are that inconsiderate but at least on dvd I can catch what i missed
I love going to the movies. In college we used to go one a week. I know that seems insane but every Tuesday tickets were cheaper and we could bring our own bucket and have it filled with popcorn for 50 cents! That was for college students only though. As you can image, it got really busy on Tuesday nights!
I usually wait for redbox to get movies but there are some I have to see! Like Deadpool. Loved it! And I know we'll go see Star Wars, I just don't know when because of the holidays. Next week maybe? I love watching superhero movies too, but I nerd out on those in comic book form too so I love watching them come to the big screen.

Hubby and I are the same way. We only go to the movies for the big ones, Star Wars, Lord of the Rings/Hobbit, and the Narnia movies! I can't wait for them to make The Silver Chair!!
