Waiting for more than 3 hrs for the police to come... landlord behaved problematically with me 2 times within 14 hr... can't get in or out of my place without her yelling at me. Don't want to get into it, exhausted and stressed... minow can't wait to move out :( Hopefully, will be able to get a restraining order and perhaps charge her with criminal harassment.

I just want to live in a place that's peaceful where I spend my energies in fun positive ways rather than trying to stand up for my rights... decent landlords are so hard to find :S

Thanks. Police called around 11:30 pm, wouldn't be able to do much apart from talking to the landlord which could escalate the situation since they wouldn't get in trouble. So... I decided not to have the police come.

In other news... I'm going to a gardening event (2 workshops & seed/plant exchange) this evening. I've been looking forward to it all year :D

I donated 3 rarer types of plants to a seed library. Bok Choy which is more known but they didn't have any seeds. 2 types of Haitian Spinach (Lalo also known as Egyptian Spinach & Jute... 2nd type is "Zepina" which is Creole for Spinach). The 2 types of Spinach are pretty rare to obtain apart from if you know a Haitian that has some. I gave a bunch of info to the Head Librarian. She's going to keep a sample locked in her office as part of a heritage collection. She will also feature them at an event she's going to at the Botanical Gardens... open to the public and will send me more info so I can attend :D So... I've helped protect plant heritage, very happy :D

In return, we're usually only allowed 3 packs at a time and max 12 packs per year. She let me surpass the limit and get the remainder all at once. I've taken several heritage seeds (very rare in danger of extinction)... mostly beans. In return, I shall cultivate & bring back more of the seeds :) I will also be trying to encourage other organizations and people I know to take some as well.

For the garden event, I got there late (around 1.5 hr travel... 3 hrs round trip)... was too busy at the seed library. I jumped in an insect workshop whereby the presenter was my collective garden animator last year. She's a lot of fun :) This year she won't be with us due to scheduling but the head of the department for gardens will be our animator instead. I know her a little already and look forward to spending more time with her :)

I then did a compost/dirt workshop... there was just 1 more participant so the animator (new staff member) adjusted her presentation and we talked about our specific gardens and questions. This was the one I was really coming for and it was definitely worth it :D I found out about lasagna gardening and want to try it :)

I managed to get a variety of seeds and plants. I'll have to wait until around May 20th to plant but they should last till then (not the best sun in my apart).

I don't know how many varieties of beans I have but it might be around 10 :) I also managed to get some Soya and Alaska Peas... which I really wanted.

If I would have had to buy seed packs and plants for everything that I've gotten this year (that's apart from what I have last year) it would have cost me around $100! Very happy :)

That sounds like a fun event - I love gardening and can't wait to get my greenhouse up and going. I have a cousin that owns a nearly 250 acre organic non-gmo certified garden/farm just outside of Atlanta. He grows some of the coolest things!

That's so cool! I'm so glad you had fun at the gardening event! I just planted my flower baskets and flower boxes. Tomorrow I need to clean up the mess I made LOL

When I prepare plants indoors for pots, I do it in the bathtub so it's easier to clean up after... telephone shower head is a must ;)

Today, I spent a good part of it with a garden friend. We went seed & plant shopping. In the evening, he helped me put poles in my garden. It's still too cold to plant outside but at least I'll have some nice plants ready when the weather is warmer. Most likely not before May 20th.

I was able to find really interesting plants/seeds... including a "Watermelon" Radish. I do NOT like the taste of radishes but it says they're sweeter and more mild than regular. They grow up to 3 inches in diameter have a white exterior and pink watermelon colour inside :D

I also splurged... with my bigger garden I planned to have a blueberry bush. There are rules on how high things can get so I chose a variety that will only grow 3 feet.

250-acre organic farm... ooo ahhh :)

In other news... my aunt that is like a sister to me is back from France! I didn't get to talk to her but we left messages on the phone :) Happy happy. Very glad to hear her voice.

Watermelon radishes sound interesting. I've never heard of such a thing! I love blueberries, so that's a great addition for sure! I just pick the wild ones from the local mountain tops around here lol. Very cool about your aunt! How long was she away? I've never been across the pond... heck, I've never left the country lol. Maybe someday. I'm pretty content where I'm at. I wish it would warm up a little here. It's been consistently in the 40's and 50'sF and I just want 70's already. Don't like super hot, so I'm not trying to wish too hard for the temps to rise ;)
