Growing up, I was homeschool up until the point I entered high school. Back then I didn't always have a set schedule, so when it snowed it was totally fine to go outside and have fun! ❄ Around where I live anything more than 2-3" is considered a decent amount of snow, anything over 6" is a lot. Most snow we've ever gotten around where I live is roughly 16-24" depending on what part of town you lived in! That happened 3 years ago and was incredible, but also horrible at the same time because it all froze over and caused power outages! Even walking past my driveway was a challenge with that much snow!

Feels great to have a "snow day" today even though we don't really have any snow & the ice has mostly melted at this point! Mostly I've spent my morning relaxing and reading while listening to music. My goal for the afternoon is to work on finishing some art and craft projects I have lying around!

Excuse me while I grump for a moment.

So I took my grandmother out to do some grocery shopping and pick up a prescription, right? Turns out she forgot to go by the pharmacy and she didn't even think about it until we were pulling back in at the house. Now I have to go back out and get it in evening traffic because she has to have it tonight.

Also the plumbers have made a mess of my apartment and discovered a patch of mold in the process. Today is not my day.

One year we had to trick or treat in 2 feet of snow, that didnt stop us. But we didnt go as far as we usually did. But that much snow in Montana is the norm. When I took drivers ed, I was dumb enough to sign up to do it in the winter. So wrong, icy roads, and the stupid drive instructor had me drive down the mountain side. I almost peed my pants. I have sewing material I need to make some pjs with.

Oh it is your day, mold can cause breathing issues. So glad they discovered it. If grandma has a cell teach her how to use the notes option, so she can make a to do list/shopping list I do that. Then have her text want she wants to do to you. HUGS traffic sucks!

Which one of the borders do you like most? So jealous, one of my older son's friend went to Germany for vacation and she is going to go to the Christmas Market in Munich and another city.

I like this most recent one, but the others are great too . I always forget to try a border. It makes a lovely change from our normal HA look, especially during the holidays. :)

I love borders, especially if i can do it with a nature picture. I am excited to see what other seasonal borders Lorax will have. I knew if I didnt grab all 3 I would kick myself later.

That sounds just awful! You would think that driver's ed instructors would get in some kind of trouble for endangering their students that way! Driving on icy roads is dangerous, particularly at an elevation and especially with an inexperienced driver behind the wheel! Hopefully, enough parents complained and that instructor no longer teaches driver's ed.

Yeah, unfortunately stuff like that happens all the time in our education system. Not that it's necessarily the fault of teachers, but more or less the system for overworking its teachers. The driver's ed instructor that I had tended to err on the side of nervous caution rather than overenthusiastic.

In other news, it still hasn't warmed up much past freezing around where I live! It's still 34 and rainy, which worries me that we may have a repeat tomorrow! On the plus side that could mean a four day weekend! Not that I don't like the cooler weather or the chance of snow, but we also have a holiday party for work tomorrow night that I've been looking forward to for quite some time!

Cautious instructor makes cautious drivers. I harped on my 3 sons when I taught them, signal always, and use your mirrors. Here is hoping you get a 4 day weekend! We had no choice, the bears are a chatty bunch.

I guess if you look at it that way, finding the mold is a blessing in disguise. I already knew there was mold down here so at least that's one chunk of it that's been found and can be dealt with. I bought some stuff to treat it while I was out getting the prescription. As for Grandma, we got her a cell phone at one point but she would never use it. She always left it at home. So now I have to use my cell phone to remind me to remind her of things.

I got myself a peppermint hot cocoa to make up for having to go back out.

That is definitely true and it's a good thing! There are too many people on the roads these days that will pay more attention to their phones than anything else. Fortunately, for every bad driver there are plenty cautious law-abiding drivers out there! I live in a college town so my views tend to be a bit skewed by seeing so many bad or simply impatient drivers.

Coffee or cocoa is always a good consolation when the weather is bad! I think I may end up stopping by my local coffee place and get a peppermint latte at some point! It's actually within walking distance of my house and it looks things might actually warm up a tiny bit. But with it being so close to sunset I'm doubtful that it will really warm up much!

So glad your treating he mold, my Dad was allergic to mold. Just touching it would make his throat swell and break out in hives. Maybe she needs a jitterbug, it has bigger lettering. Well a least one of you remembers what she needs. She is old school and probably likes written list.

Cocoa was exactly what I needed. I had resisted the urge to get coffee when we went out before because I'm supposed to limit my caffeine intake but I needed something this time. Preferably something I didn't have to make for myself.

She's very old school about it, yes. She just didn't write it down on her list and she didn't go straight to the pharmacy when I dropped her off (I had to go get cat food from next door) so she completely forgot. When I went back to get it, the pharmacy tech who always waits on her was there and laughed when I told her what happened. Grandma just doesn't like learning to use new technology. She figures she's old enough that there's no point.

Limiting your caffeine intake isn't easy! Usually I'm fine with just a little bit of coffee but there's been a few times where I end up drinking far too much coffee & then just staying up later than I should!

Have fun, I cant wait to see new HA. My Dad was like that about computers, he acted like the government would use it to know about every detail of his life. I think he watched to many spy movies, LOL. Darn James Bond! I tried to tell my Dad he could look at so many things, ask any question get an answer. He wasnt convinced. Border city and college in town and it sucks. For border traffic no insurance, me first mentality, and poor driving skills. If they hit you or cause accident, nothing happens to them. You stuck with a mess of car. My sons got the cell lecture of their life. I taught them, its the passengers job to text, answer or call for you. But mainly pullover in a safe area, or wait until you get to your destination. Oh and seat belts, I had fun with that. They passed a law here about it when my sons were young. If they didnt buckle their seat belts, they go to get home sit in a chair and pretend to put on a seat belt for 10 minutes. So seat belts are imprinted in their minds after a couple of times of doing that. I got tired of talking, so this method was used on several issues like leaving the lights on in the house. Meant 10 minutes of standing in front of the light switch pretending to turn it off and on.

My coffee consumption was way too high after university! I did a study abroad in Guatemala and drinking at least three cups a day was pretty much the standard for everyone. Drink a cup with my house parents at breakfast, at least one with my teacher during morning studies, and probably one between lunch and afternoon studies. Then my health started to decline and less caffeine was at the top of the doctors' orders.

We got Grandma a computer about four years ago for the sole purpose of playing games because she loves solitaire and mahjong. She just recently surprised everyone by asking me if I could show her how to use the internet on her own because it's the best way to talk to my cousin and her kids since they moved.
