I had both eyes done a week apart. Being diabetic, I did have a problem with some healing, (took longer then usual) in one eye but other than that, it's alright. And the surgery was a cool breeze for me.

That's amazing! I haven't nearly gotten to that point - I have to have glasses to watch tv. I'm nearsighted too. But my Rx for my glasses changes very little from year to year so far. So that's good.
Oh that's great to know. So happy for you it was so easy. Dad said the 2nd eye took longer to heal too and he had a little more trouble with it but over all it was okay.
it's sad that as we get older everything starts falling apart lol.
off to ss and church. have a great day

I wonder if they wait for both eyes to need this done as my left eye will be ready far sooner it does seem. And I wonder why two years ago when they first told me I had the damn things they didn't just go ahead and remove them. Guess some drs do and some don't.
I guess they do wait for both, I'm not sure. My Dr told me that my cataracts need to be a certain size before he will operate. I imagine that is true of other specialists, though I don't know the reason why.
Edit: Ran across this when I looked: http://www.visionaware.org/info/your-eye-condition/cataracts/considering-cataract-surgery/125
and this: https://www.aao.org/newsroom/news-releases/detail/when-is-right-time-to-have-cataract-surgery
They said "Cataracts can also increase sensitivity to glare..." so maybe that is part of our problem, though glare has always affected me. I guess the cataracts just make it worse.
Thank you for the information, just read the articles. Seems not a good idea to do too soon or to wait too long. Guess I need to rely on my eye dr, at least she is at Mass Eye and Ear and I trust them. Hard to tell, like you I have always been sensitive to glare but my vision does get a bit blurry sometimes.
morning to everyone. another hot day here. suppose to get up to 109 on Friday.
I went to the city yesterday and it totally drained me , all because of the heat. I just can't take it this hot. and they say that hell is 7 times hotter. wow, glad I'm going to heaven.
take care all and stay safe.

Just thought I'd left you know that my eye appointment went well. Cataracts are not any worse and my reading has improved. So I am getting new glasses, 1 pair for reading and 1 pair for the computer. Next month I will get new shades for the living room as the light coming in is much too bright. Leaving the hospital it was pouring rain and we had flash flood warnings on phones. Luckily for me I had a clear plastic hooded poncho in my shoulder purse so I stayed dry except for my shoes - for the God knows how many times my poor loafers just squished once again.
Hope everyone is staying cool❄ I had one of those tiring-but-good days. Had a storytime group in the morning then did a science outreach visit to a neighborhood in the afternoon, and still took my teeny dog for a long walk to make up for shorting him yesterday. He's taking a nice nap now and I'm chilling listening to podcasts. Phew~

Gah I hate the heat and it's usually worse in August. I'm staying in as much as possible. Glad it went well, and great planning with the poncho. Send us some of your rain please! We've had a couple times it has actually rained this month, but not long enough each time. Glad for any we can get, but don't want the flash floods. Now so hot we really need some just to cool it off any at all. Hi! Sounds nice. What kind of teeny dog?
He's a chihuahua/rat terrier mix. A rowdy little angel.

Ladies please take care of yourselves and stay inside on these miserable hot and humid days. Slippy I would hate to hear that you got heat stroke in those dangerous temperatures. Here it seems to be too hot and too humid or pouring rain with once in awhile a good day. But I am with you all, am staying in as much as possible and only venturing out for food in the reasonable am hours when necessary.
so happy to hear your appointment went well. :) and you can send your rain to me, we need it.
It would be nice to not to have to go outside until September when it's cooler lol.
I had a chihuahua once. she wouldn't eat anything but chicken. lol

Wish I could send enough rain so that we don't flood in areas but had enough rain for all. There is a very cute chihuahua living next door that I have watched grow up - she recently was spayed and now she looks at me like I don't know the suffering she has been through.
God will send us rain when He knows the time is right.

I went to check the mail the other day and someone had a greyhound. Such a cutie <3
In my area there are a lot of rescue greyhounds that are so lovely but need a lot of exercise.
