- Pstaff, Syringe, Ocean Currents scroll, and PW scrolls. other than that, healers and maybe blasters.
- Well, it should be a bit easier now. Back in the day they only gave a core for the one person who dealt the final hit, which we all know will never be me cus I have the worse luck ever, but now that they are awarding for damage etc, there might be hope. I honestly don't remember what stats I had when I beat Rouland. I don't even know if I got 10 wins on him all in the same year, or split. I'm bad at time lines.
Ah, thank you for the info re. Rouland :D In the worst case I'll just run headlong into him instead, taking out as many wins as I can manage.
So it used to be a unique prize long ago? I have always thought that it was rewarded to the top X pets sitewide, so T12-T13 pets often dominated the table. Luckily they reformed the boss battle to what it is now. I've got rotten luck at pretty much anything heavily luck-based so if the top prize was still handed out to the final hitter nowadays I know for sure it wouldn't be me :D
- Yeah, it started with just one, then it was the person who got the final hit and the top 3 damage, then the top 10 damage, and then multiple prizes based on damage, and now tiered prizes. It's been quite a journey! The person who gets the final hit still gets the top prize in the new system as far as I am aware.
I have the Gelatin Slayer, which I don't think does any healing but it blocks dark. I'll probably get rid of it when/if I manage to make the Essence, but you'd be welcome to borrow it for the Wizard if it would help. 😊
It is nice that the achievements don't reset, so if I can't do it this year then there's always next. I am a bit impatient too, but we'll see how it goes. If I can manage to find a concoction for a reasonable price then I might just do that.
Yeah I'm pretty sure last year the people who got the final hit got a Core. Then it also went to top 25 overall. And I think as far as tier goes, it went to the top person in each tier, that's how I got mine.
in addition to the Pstaff, Syringe, Ocean Currents scroll, and PW scrolls mentioned, I also brought my blessed trident because it does a good amount of water. that way, if one got stolen, I could use the other one. if the trident's blessing procs, that helps a lot too. I think I used mecha too for some extra heal and slight defense - she does some phys right? I don't remember I don't think I used blasters for that fight, I'd rather my weapons stay at 8 so if she stole something, there's a better chance of it not being a healer or attacker
Oh right right I forgot about the syringe.
It's been so long since I had to actually think strategy; I swear I've forgotten what half my armory does. [edit] You Won! You have defeated Forj Matriarch, the Erupting 1 time! I will take my scroll and be on my way, spank you very much.
Thank you! Yeah, that took a long time to wear him down, especially with that forsaken one-weapon curse that seemed to hit every-other-turn on some battles.
I actually don't think I'm going to mind going for at least the 5/10 on most of the Impossible tier again after the reset, bar Meatslab and Baenwurath. Feeling more comfortable and confident in my battle set, scrolls, and Kilroy now.
In other news I've begun training a second battle pet, SunDragon. Adorable little chap has chewed through a handful of foes shy of the 150 strength range and I'm hoping he'll follow in Kilroy's footsteps soon enough.
congrats on the wins! the water mods really help out but if you're just going for 5, then no need for those now :P
Yay great job! Congrats on the 5 wins!
Ah training more pets can be amazing specially when they grow up so fast....
You Won!

Congrats on finishing all BQs. Way to go. AND your wins again Crithbolcan. Diligence.
Congrats on all your wins. Feels good.
Congrats on reaching T13. How awesome.
Congrats on your wins with your new weapon. I also bought my Swashbuckle because I was too lazy to go after Chase.
What did you use against PRB. Please see my weapons under the spoiler. Thanks for any suggestions on PRB.
[Edit] You Won! You have defeated Prodigy Kuuipo earned 3500 EXP Points!
BQs are complete.

400 million for OHS - ouch! It really does seem like weapon prices are extremely high compared to what older battlers remember. Oh well - if we just keep questing as we train I hope we'll be able to keep up as our main pets advance. And the good news is that any pet after that can use all the stuff we've already acquired! (Or at least almost all, I guess a few things get combined into higher tier items.)
- Congratulations on your wins against the Raging Storm Sylph.
It is so amazing how much difference a weapon (or scroll) can make against some opponents. And it looks to me as though battlers need almost an infinite source of sP to get all those must have weapons, scrolls and books (for AP to use the scrolls). Oh well, I guess that's what daily questing, a few games, and our shops are for. Have to earn a living - even in a virtual world. :-) Seriously, though, I'm sure if you keep questing - especially with a gold medal, you will be buying that Natasha before you know it. And meanwhile, enjoy your brand new Swashbuckle.
And wow, how incredibly kind and thoughtful of you to train battle pets for other users. For myself, I want to go through the whole process from the start, but it does take so much time and sP. I can see that it would be a big help to have the choice to get a mid level pet and would make it a lot easier for some to enjoy battling. I'm like though. If I have any pet (even a virtual one) I get attached to it and would not want to give it to anyone else. I really admire you for being able to put in that work and then share it to help someone else.
- thanks. I'll try to do the same against my challengers, although, as I said, at least for now, I tend to get distracted by the battling itself. Maybe it will get easier as I do more battling and less thinking as I go. :-) (Or maybe I just don't have enough of the kind of that kind of patience - :-) When I'm struggling to get a win, I just want to keep going as fast as I can and not stop to record anything.)
Maybe before a boss battle, you could take most of your extra pets out of the hotel (or stop feeding and playing with them) for a bit. Then they wouldn't show up on the battle page as able to battle. And for the healer, if you had the extras at full health, they won't show up on her page. That might help to make the zoom/scrolling more manageable just for the big event. Just a thought.
- 30/30 times two! Congratulations! Such am amazing job to be able to complete all those BQs each day.
- welcome back. So glad you had fun, but it is nice to get back to dry land after cruising isn't it. :-) Yay for Pina Coladas - who can resist pineapple and coconut? And you are very welcome, I had so much fun finding those little things. I'm glad you liked them. :-)
So many battlers want that core I am so lucky (and so happy) to have gotten it before I had any idea what it was or what boss battles were about. I know I would also be nervous if I were trying to compete for it now. At first, I felt guilty about even having won it, but it's not as if I was trying to get it away from someone else, so I managed to at least get over that. Winning something for getting the final hit on a boss is mostly luck based as far as I can tell. As long as you can do any damage at all, yours could be the straw that broke the camel's back and you could be the one, I think it's sort of nice for so many to at least have a chance at that last hit.
Sounds like the general consensus is to play Item Hunt for profit and not try to win. So maybe I should go back to playing more regularly. I have been sitting so long I've forgotten if there is a good sP payout on just playing, but vaguely remember that I usually at least came out ahead most of the time (of course I quit when anything expensive was requested and then started over). I've also only recently learned that once you win you can't play anymore so that does make it even more of a trade off. Maybe I should just buy Swashbuckle and then sell it if I don't get to Tier 11 fast enough to want to use it myself. If I did I could make it an extended loan to iwhile I'm still training and solve both our issues all at once. :-)
Pretending to be Kbbob.
