Oh yeah, some older ones it's easy to notice when the effects weren't done as well, but it was the best they had at the time. I can look past it if the story is good though. :)

I don't even remember like any of the plot right now, except that there was a book and the dog-dragon thing. That's about all I got.

It's a book that's not supposed to be read, dangers abound, similar concept to Jumanji but with less humour. Good adventure storyline but I'd say a bit too scary for kids that can be frightened. Not as fluffy as Disney.

I managed to get the book & plushie but also wanted the background. Sometimes I can't get 1 item I want so at least 2/3 is pretty good :D

It's weird how little of it I remember now considering I used to watch it a lot as a kid. I used to watch the Balto movie a lot as a kid too, but I remember most of that one. Maybe I'll watch them both this weekend and just have a big nostalgia trip.

At least you got some things you wanted! I got the book and plushie as well, already had the background. I thought it used to be easier to get 3 items at a time whenever it stocked, but now I've been finding myself only getting 2 more often. Still not bad though!

- actually, the easiest way to find out it's a prequel is to read a review before watching. :-)

You can find a manual for almost anything on the internet.

- Cluckers Cave pings (sometimes) for Coda Caves - and also for the Token Shop (most of the time). The Token Shop Restocking group pings almost always for the Token Shop but not for anything else.

There's also a sidebar widget for Coda Caves.

- say hello to Shinwa for me. :-)

I actually really appreciated that they put her in at the end. But then I read a lot about how and why.

I see about one to three movies a year, so I usually try to be very sure I will like the few I choose to go to.

Most folk/fairy tales (and Beauty of the Beast is sort of that) have much darker or even gristly versions. I understand in an earlier Cinderella, the sisters actually cut off part of their feet to try to fit into the glass slippers.

The Hobbit is not a prequel to The Lord of the Rings in the usual sense. It does take place first. But The Hobbit was written first too. It was intended to be a children's book. Usually a prequel comes after a big hit where they fill in the earlier story, so The Hobbit doesn't meet that definition.

- do you have all the Coda Cave minions? There are a lot of them.

No, but I don't collect minions so I don't really care about those.

And yeah, with The Hobbit and LOTR it was kind of the other way around wasn't it? The Hobbit was popular so he made LOTR afterwards to expand on the universe. I'm not sure if it's exactly because people wanted more of the story or he just had the ideas already, but either way I love them both. The Hobbit movies though, ehhh. I think they should have only done like a two-parter and not tried to add so much other stuff into the story.

Yeah the Hobbit was 1 book while LOR was 3 so it would have made more sense to make the Hobbit movies only 2 parts instead of dragging it out to 3. Read LOR in high school but not Hobbit because it sounded boring. Have both series on DVD special extended editions. Tried watching all the LOR in a marathon and it takes more than 12 hours. And I have Coda Caves on my computer calendar every month so don't need a ping for that because after the 1st digging I just set the alert. :) Wish Morostide would hurry up and start. I want to TP everyone's "house" (eggs are too messy :D). Too bad it doesn't make TP show up on the profile. ;)

The Hobbit is a good book, but it is a bit of a different tone than the LOTR trilogy. You can tell it was meant more for children or younger people, because it's got more of a whimsical fairy tale sort of style. The LOTR books were more serious and grim from what I remember.

I liked the first Hobbit movie, and I liked the cast. I thought Martin Freeman did an excellent job as Bilbo, and it could have been a great two-part story if they had stuck more to the book and not tried to combine so many different aspects of Tolkien's universe. I think they were trying to make more connections to the LOTR trilogy with some of the setup and characters, but it didn't really work out.

~ They took some parts of the Salmarillion to make it longer too.

Yeah, I haven't read The Silmarillion yet, but I heard that as well.

I personally just think it was unnecessary. They dragged it out into 3 movies when they didn't really need to, and also created the pointless love story with Kili and the elf lady. After the first movie, it just became sort of a mess.

Yeah, I agree. Three movies was just too much.

I did like some aspects of them though, like they could have been really good if they had stuck with the same cast but cut down on some of the unnecessary story lines. I really liked the parts of the first movie that were almost word for word from the book, like Bilbo meeting Gandalf at the beginning and the scenes in the cave with Gollum. It went more downhill in the second one when they started adding too much extra.

I didn't even realize there was a second one, but lol I'll keep that in mind! I'll probably watch the original tomorrow afternoon or something, after I finish up with housework and stuff.

Some pieces of furniture are a royal pain and more. Take breaks & deep breaths, you'll figure it out :) Is Emily good at puzzles? Maybe she can help.

I've finally beaten Mechalag 10 times with Poukie (t5) shakes pompoms I'm exhausted, my annoying cold made me so weak I can't do much other than sit. I couldn't even search for my electric blanket or properly feed Gismo his dry food... had to dump it on the ground in a pile instead of putting it in tubes. Going to try to make super, I keep being hungry at odd hours.

Avoid the 2nd one, wasn't fond of it either.

That's unfortunate. Well... maybe a bottle of wine and some fun music could help :P Yes, I saw the 2nd because of course one's curious to see what happens and then you're like why did I waste my time watching. Ok, ok I really should try to make food, I spent most of my time on Subeta since I could barely move. Must try not to topple over making food.

I think I saw it on tv. I was so dissappointed in it. I ordered a pizza for emily and I am just going to make myself a salad. I don't think I can handle a pizza tonight!

I hate putting things together. Why does it have to be so complicated?!?!?! Love the Goonies and the Princess Bride! You gotta love the endless memes!

Watched the Princess Bride last weekend.... is it sad that I could quote some of the scenes??? LOL 😆 Still one of my all time favourites!!! One of the girls at work said she hasn't seen it. So, of course, I piped up with "Inconceivable!!!" Really, how could I not???? :P And then, one of the guys I work with cracks up laughing which of course made me crack up and then everyone else is like, "What????" Lmao- entertaining day!

LOVE all the memes out there for it!!! :D
