((OOC: Aack, sorry again for the wait. I was feeling under the weather last week, and it peaked yesterday. I'm feeling a bit better today, so here we go!))
"Oh...that would be terrible," Selphy said worriedly at the notion of Tea and Cake meeting a premature end in the hotel. She certainly couldn't blame him for keeping them locked up where they were safe! But another look at their cute, eager little faces also made her feel bad for the clearly antsy mice.
Selphy giggled into her hands again at the abrupt reaction of Tea and Cake when Jervis relented; they were remarkably intelligent, that much was clear. This didn't faze Selphy, who'd come across many animals while traveling with her mother who seemed just as smart as a human, if not more. The original Buttons, her cat, was one such example. She accepted her tea from Jervis with thanks, and held it up to feel its warmth on her face as he crossed over to the dressing table.
Her violet eyes followed the mice as they scampered up onto his shoulder. For the third or fourth time, Selphy marveled inwardly at how absolutely adorable they were. She was delighted when their furry little heads bobbed in her direction; in case what she perceived as a greeting truly was one, she wiggled her fingers at them in a tiny wave that was accompanied by a smile.
"It's nice to meet you, Tea, Cake. I'm Selphy." She looked at Jervis, completely relaxed now. "They're so well-behaved...they must really like you."

((Funny you should say that, but I'm sick too! My tonsils are all swollen, stuffy head, it hurts to swallow, and I keep coughing... Basically what Mum had for the last few weeks. Bleh. I will edit this post in the morning, promise. But right now my brain is like 'Jervis did a thing and he was very English'. Which is. Uh. Yeah.
EDIT: A night's sleep and a cup of liquorice tea later and I'm back in the game!))
"Cupboard love, I'm afraid. They'd follow an axe murderer to the ends of the Earth if he gave them a handful of Cheerios." he said, apparently immune to the offended looked the mice gave him. Seeing a mouse look offended was a sight to behold indeed. Jervis merely laughed, reaching up to give Cake - somehow he'd learnt to tell the difference - an affectionate rub on the head. "Which are firmly a sometimes food, despite their begging. The little beasts would gorge themselves spherical if they could."
Jervis sat down next to the tea table - careful not to dislodge his passengers - and sipped his tea for as he considered what to say next. He couldn't quite remember how you went about getting to know people. You ask them about themselves, he guessed. "So. Tell me about your adventures. ...If you want to, that is."
"Ah, I'm Ashely! I'm sorry I didn't introduce myself! That was very rude!" She bowed a little with her head in apology. That's what humans do, right? Or, is that only in Russia...? Either way, she was less careful in her search, as even if she had thought about putting things back where they belonged, she wouldn't really remember what went where.
However, she was unable to find anything either. Nothing that looked like a white box with two crossing red lines on them. It didn't help that Cooper voiced her worries. "That's not good... I don't know how'd we get in, other than breaking her door down. I don't think she'd like that." That would get her sent back home for sure, if Babs got angry. Of course, she COULD do it, but she'd have to remove her disguise too.
She did not want to do that. She really REALLY did not want to do that.
Tim nodded, and held still as she stitched his shoulder back together. He decided that he liked Mara, possibly almost as much as he liked Babs, or his new friend Jackie. He stood, perhaps a bit wobbly, and decided that he would very much like to take a good, long nap.
He noted, personally, that he had lost his spray bottle in the commotion and ensuing scuffle. He sighed. It was hard to get spray bottles from stores when all they did was run and scream, and you barely spoke English. Maybe he could ask Babs if she had a bottle in her cabinet that he could use in the meantime in the morning.
As he pushed the door open to Room 2 (he never locked it; he did so enjoy having people pop in and say hello, even if they didn't do it very frequently at this hotel), he took note of the apparent state of order that he had left the room in. He pushed his way into the en-suite and turned on the faucet, filling the tub with water. He took a handful of the epsom salts he kept on the counter and sprinkled them in, to give the water that perfect saline touch, reminiscent of home. Finally, he sank into the bath, content to sleep off this terrible day.
In the back of his head, before he dozed off, he spared a thought for Covie, and hoped that she had taken care of the monster.

Coventina took a deep breath in, and pulled some of the drizzle floating down into a ball around her hands. "I need you to trust me," she said slowly. "I'm going to put this around your head. It will heal you, and you will be able to breathe, but it will be highly disorienting, and possibly frightening. Will you let me?"
She held her hands steady in front of her. She was still worried that the creature would try to bolt, and ruin this healing halfway through.
Quietly and in English, she murmured what she was doing to Diana. "I'm simply trying to heal the chaos that is this poor man's mind. It seems that he's been fused with many other creatures for some time now, and he needs some rest."

Ahua slipped down from the roof as all of the commotion had died down. She had transformed back into her preferred form, that of the squirrel, and sat silently on the railing of the second floor balcony, staring at Covie and the beast. She was glad that it hadn't come for her, but was quite curious as to what it was. It was humanoid, but also gave off the air of an animalistic predator. It made her nervous, and she was quite glad that it didn't seem to be moving quickly, and that its wings were dysfunctional. It allowed for more escape routes - after all, she could fly and it couldn't.
Ahua reached out mentally, trying to determine what the new presence was. She had felt it before, when Covie was still on the roof, but hadn't gotten a chance to look at it. It didn't feel threatening towards her at all, which was a relief - most things were a definite threat to her survival, and there wasn't a day that went by that she didn't wish that she could find a nice deserted island and live there forever with nothing to ever bother her.
But that was a pipe dream, and this was reality, and she simply had to know what the thrumming was coming from. Hello? she whispered to the presence. What are you?
OOC// (she's talking to jackie)
"Nice to meet you Ashley." Cooper replied, offering a brief handshake. She scratched her head surveying the rest of the lobby. "I feel like a medical kit should be easily accessible to everybody, but that may just be me." The room didn't look like it had any signs indicating where one might be hiding. "I don't have any lockpics on me. The owner probably wouldn't let me stay here if I kicked down the door either." she added, glaring slightly at the closed door to the office.
Leaning against the desk she produced another sigh, "I vote we just tell them we couldn't find one. I hope Tim is doing okay. If we're lucky we won't need one." she grumbled, not looking forwards to admitting defeat.

The Wendigo looked at the newcomer wearily as she approached, mentally noting their smell of earth and old leaves; though they weren't sure whether it was their inhumanly enhanced senses picking that up or whether their mind's way of processing the magic they sensed from them. Although they were doing their best to control the animal souls, many of them were becoming wary of all this attention. Most wanted to leave right now, to find somewhere dark and secluded to lick their wounds. A low, rumbling growl slipped out of their throat before they could stop it.
They turned back the water-magic woman, looking at the ball of water hovering around her hands. This did not look like it was going to be any fun. It was going to be hard not to run away from the 'drowning', but they would try. "Yes." they said simply, in English this time.
Diana watched Covie making the water ball for the creature before glancing at it, noticing that they were looking at her. She jumped ever so slightly, not expecting that to happen before looking them in the eyes, hearing the rumble slipping out of their throat. She watched him turn back to Covie and she looked back up as she was spoken to. She nodded her head slightly before glancing around the lot. She noted all of the plants near-by in case they bolted and Covie need help. Diana glanced down at the creature when he spoke in English before back at the goddess. "Covie? Did they say who and what they are? Did you figure that out?" she asked before glancing over at the lobby. She remembered Ashley and the new girl slip in there to look for medical supplies. "Aside from Tim, do you know of anyone else who was injured?"
Was that...there was someone else that had just spoken to her. She shifted her eyes to the railing where a squirrel of all things sat. But yes, Chevelle could tell this was no ordinary squirrel...besides the fact that the animal had apparently spoken to her, of course. Whoever this was, they were a lot older than she, but nowhere near as old as Covie, but they still felt like some kind of nature entity, albeit not so strongly of water. There was again a feel of old magic, perhaps another deity, but she wasn't altogether certain. It was probably best to tell them the truth, at any rate. Name's Chevelle. She said to the presence. Or Jackie, like I just called myself to these humans. That car over there, the one that just rammed the wall? That's me. Just...try to keep that info on the down low. That kid over there, Lee, he needs to do human things, so we made a pit stop hopin' to get him a little tune up. But uh, so far... her gaze shifted back to the now one-horned creature that Covie seemed to be trying to help. I hope to be back runnin' the roads soon, personally, so sorry if I'm up in your space. Who are you?
OOC: I'm still here. I was waiting for people to reply.
OOC// I'm so sorry guys I thought that my reply had posted but apparently my computer shut down before it was posted. Let me get right on that. I'm so so sorry.

Coventina took a deep breath and prepared to melt into Jacobi's mind, as she would have to settle the spirits before she could expunge them. "Diana, dear, this is Jacobi. He is in a great amount of pain, and I'd very much like to ease that. He is what I have learned is called a wendigo - a creature that is an amalgamation, of sorts, of different creatures. From the condition that he is in, I would say that he was made with a great deal of anguish from everything that the creatures went through, and it has been this way for quite some time."
Once she had finished explaining, she pushed the water forward, encasing Jacobi's entire body. She saw her reflection on the orb, eyes lit from within, but looked past it to stare into Jacobi's face. She let go of the tether her body held, and slipped into his mind.
Within, it was chaos - the different animals were already crowded, and did not much appreciate the added presence of another sentient being in their mix. They pushed at her, restless and angry, but she did her best to ignore them. Instead, she sought out the calmer creatures - those that were ready to pass on, that had lived long enough in this scarred and destroyed body, that never wanted to come back after they died once, but were dragged along by the power of the others hoping to live again. She took them each into herself, and visualized them dissipating. Though this was not entirely what they did, it was the best way that she had learned to envision it, and left the creatures more whole than they had been before when they passed.
Once they were gone, she found herself with a bit more freedom in the vessel. She turned to the rioting crowds behind her - with no more anger than she had had towards those that went peacefully, she began to do the same to those spirits. It was more of a fight than the others, but she had much practice in settling the minds of those who reveled in madness, and it was simply a manner of remembering how to push back against them. Soon, she was left with just a few spirits - and Jacobi.
In his mind, she said, quietly: "I'm afraid that if I take these from you, you will have no more power to remain in this vessel. It may fall apart around you. If I leave them, you will have their twelve voices as counsel, for I could try to ease their suffering as well - but you would have to know never to let one take over, or risk losing yourself to their strength forever."

Ahua tittered nervously. I am Ahua, she said simply. I merely live here. This is no more my space than a snake's pit is my home. But did you realize that you were coming to such a beacon for supernatural activity as this when you came here?
She skittered across the railing, pressing herself low to the metal, moving to keep her mind away from the dangers that having identified herself to this Other creature. I do not believe it will be quite so easy to leave as it was to come, as you might find.
[-viola] ((Urge: No worries! I was more concerned about you than the RP. :) ))
The feeling of Coventina's magic inside the Wendigo's body was a strange one, something that they couldn't compare to anything else they had ever experienced. They could feel the ball of cool water all around them, pressing on their skin and soaking their mane, but like the stranger had promised they were able to breathe freely. It was strangely nice, the feeling of submersion. Maybe this would give them a much-needed wash. But the sensation was nothing compared the feeling of her entering their mind. The animal souls set about rioting again at the entrance of a new mind, like they had when they attacked the Marshman; Jacobi found his thoughts almost drowned out by their yowls, howls, growls, and roars.
The angry spirits did not go without a fight; it felt like claws and teeth on the inside on their skull and the Wendigo's body jerked in surprise and pain. Their jaws gaped widely and a rush of air bubbles escaped as they let out an inaudible scream. But eventually, the cacophony began to quiet. Souls followed souls into the peace of the afterlife, guided away by Coventina and her power. One by one voices vanished until the body that he had grown so used to sharing began to feel very silent and empty indeed.
The Wendigo became still, their only movement being a slight twitching of their useless wings.
For the first time, the Wendigo - or Jacobi, rather - could remember and envision himself. If Coventina was able to see Jacobi's spirit - his true form - in the Wendigo's mind, they would see a rather unprepossessing man, mousy almost. He was of average height with a far larger than average forehead, dark hair, a bushy moustache and beard, and round brown eyes that gave him a rather surprised air. He wore an old-fashioned suit and a pair of small circular glasses perched on the end of his long nose.
"It is... so quiet in here." he murmured, taking stock of the twelve remaining spirits. They were quieter now, whether calm or exhausted he didn't know. Jacobi listened to Coventina's words quietly and nodded, then realised he wasn't sure if he had even moved or if she could see the gesture.
"I understand. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart. For everything. For helping me despite what I was and what I had done to... whoever it was that I attacked." Jacobi replied. He paused, allowing his mind to feel every inch this strange vessel he had found himself living in. "It's strange, is it not, that even after all these years and all this suffering this body had given me, I find myself clinging onto it even now? I know that I could pass on now, to be with my wife and sons again after so long, but... Something stops me. There's something I lack, that I hunger for more than I hunger for food, that keeps me here..."
The doctor's spirit paused again. He had found it odd, when he allowed himself to think of it, that he was the only human spirit in the vessel. The plant had had a staff of almost a dozen upon its activation, yet the only souls he had shared his new body with were animals. Where were his staff, his friends? What had they told their families? What had they buried, if they had been reduced to atoms? Or had they become monsters clinging to life too, lost and pained with nobody to ease their suffering? Jacobi had a feeling that, whatever their fate, they families had not been told the truth.
"...I think it is justice."
Diana nodded her quietly, not wanting to disturb Covie before using her magic. She watched her in amazement, whispering a small cool to herself. She felt the goddess's magic at work and she allowed herself to look around, catching the damaged wall from Jackie and her car. She bounced herself around before allowing her eyes to land back on the duo in front of her. She saw Jacobi nod his head as she assumed they were mentally talking to each other. She flew to in front of him and stared quietly as he seemed to have felt relief of some sort. "Must be working then." she thought to herself moving back to her original area before catching her eye on wilting flowers. She glanced at the two again before moving to the flowers. Diana knelt down and allowed her magic to surge though her as she touched the flower petals, watching them come to life again. She hummed in satisfaction as she rocked back on her heels, smiling ever so slightly.
OOC: I'm going camping today and I won't be back until tomorrow. This hasn't been very active but I wanted you all to know. :)
(( Sorry everyone! I've been busy with multiple trips, and kept forgetting to say something on here, and once I got done with them, I struggled to actually come up on here and apologize. I need to be better at letting people know when I'm gone. ))
Ah! A, a human handshake! This was a sign of trust and friendliness! Ashley smiled wide, and held the other person's hand and giving the perfect handshake. She'd been practicing, after all! And, what Cooper said, it seemed right to her, so she nodded. "It seems like a hazard to me. What if, like now, someone needs it, and we can't find it? This is a problem..."
She sighed though. "Yeah, I think that's all we can do for now. I'm sorry I couldn't do more." She hopes the other humans won't look poorly on them for doing, well, poorly. She wanted to get along with all of them.
Cooper nodded, "Let's give them the news then." she said, ending the handshake, turning on her heel and walking back to where everybody else had been. "Hey guys, there-" she stopped when she realized that Tim wasn't where they'd left him, which was either good or really bad. She paused, looking at the floor for signs of where he might have gone. A slight trail of something wet, hopefully just water from the marshman, led into room 2. Concern ran through her body, Did they move him because he needed a better place to recover, or as a last resting place? she wondered. Carefully she headed to the room, her boots making very little noise as she listened for any sounds of life in the room. Relief rushed through her as she could hear water being turned on in the bathroom.
"Sorry we couldn't find a kit!" she called through the door. Cooper didn't want to intrude on his recovery, although she usually didn't have a problem barging into somebody's dwelling. Usually the barging in was done to catch somebody which didn't require too much privacy or quiet.
((So, people who are in this RP are logging on (within the last two days, the last post on here being from five days ago) but not posting, saying 'I'm too busy to RP, I have work', or even going 'hey, this RP sucks, I'm out'? I would post but I'm waiting on two people's replies. My characters are in limbo.))
OOC: I am also waiting for people to post on this RP. I'm waiting for Urge and you to reply since I was the last person to post between the three of us so I didn't want to post too quickly. Hopefully posts will happen soon?
