i'd go for Quy - it's a Vietnamese name with a meaning of precious and valuable - perfect words to tie up with the word Dream
The first thing I thought of is a Yak. Yakma, a cross between karma and yak.
I like Buu. If that isn't the species name it will be the name of my pet of that species.

I'm not very good with names, but I've managed to root out a couple of things that don't feel too contrived/ I don't hate. Can't guarantee everything is accurate, though.
Eglantine - First thing came to mind. Medieval English derived from the old name of a flower, so not an obvious connection, but I find it to be somewhat elephant like, but still a bit delicate and fantastical.
Jeong-Hui - Korean: the first part means quiet and gentle, while the second means bright and glorious, which is fitting for something which looks to be mythical (plus, I'd like to see a two-part name).
Yuuta - Japanese: 'yuu' meaning gentle/leisurely/brave (depending on spelling), while the 'ta' means "thick/big", which is overall fairly appropriate for something elephantine. Plus, it's also got the first syllable of "yume" in there, as a subtle nod to the dream aspect.
I like Qi, Zephyr or Amun (god of mystery) since this pet is mystery ..lol
Can't wait to see it.

: thanks so much for the love on "Youkabai" and my breakdown of it!!! :D I'm flattered it was read and well-received by at least a few Subetans! ^-^
Lotsier
would be a pretty interesting integration of Western and Eastern mythology!
It's a contraction of "lotus eater", from classical canon--Ulysses and his crew land on an island where they consume lotus and are sedated by their dreams.
Lotus itself has the implications of rebirth and purity in several Asian cultures.
Several parts of the lotus (seeds, fragrance) can be used in tea.
(just realized my UN can be read as the character for elephant instead of fragrant. Thanks, Subeta).
Rooibos. It's very good tea made from bark.

Yumesh ( Yume being the literal pronunciation of dream in Japanese and given an ending to sound cool, right? )
Yeolsoe ( literally "key" in Korean, could lead to some future plot material )
Yeongcha ( mashup of "tea" and "soul" in Korean)
Yumekaigoshi ( "caregiver of dreams" in Japanese )

I'm in support of 's suggestion of Yanshen. I like the history connection, originality, and I think it would fit well among the other pet names.
Eireyen
Qapirus - tapirus is the genus name for tapirs, and qapirus is tapirus with a q.</p>

Well I immediately thought of Ganesha but seeing as you have more than enough elephant related names I won't even go there. XD I also have a feeling Japanese names are gonna be highly suggested so instead I'm looking at a few Cherokee words for inspiration...
Dohiyi (peace) Tsagi (dreams) Ugalogv (tea)
