It's been mentioned before, but I'd love the ability to make some of the ingredients.
Milk + lemon juice or vinegar = buttermilk Vanilla beans + vodka = vanilla extract
Additionally, more substitutions! Applesauce can be used instead of buttermilk.

We're not going to be adding more to the donation center. There are already a lot of items in there + we added the bag to the Millionaire Center. All of these items are lower rarity so they can restock and you can vend them. Today also happens to be Food Market for the Mystery Box!
Again, I think it'll all calm down soon. Yes, vanilla extract is used in a few recipes. I've already posted (I think in the news comments) that the new recipes won't be requiring a lot of the same items (obviously butter and salt will come in to play). So these are really the only recipes for a while that'll need vanilla extract. I don't want to add more "general" categories until we get more items (like more types of salt), like I kind of hate that flour only has two items haha. I do want to add more substitutions in the future though!
We're not going to add making ingredients at this time, because it'd basically be the same problem users are having right now. People would buy up all the ingredients and you'd have to wait to restock them haha.
Vodka is a token shop item too, I'm not sure I would like it to be a component, tbh.
Unless of course we start bargaining with the pirates for their vodka and rum. Mmmm, rum cake.
I'd love to see more flour-type items on the site anyway! Would be cool for a future update.
I don't think they have the vodka, but they absolutely have the rum.
We need run cake for Keelhauliday because reasons. This is the best idea.
You know, I didn't realize that the pirates didn't sell vodka until after I checked shop search. They sell something in a clear bottle and I would have sworn that was vodka, but nope, gin. Maybe gin could work in a pinch.
Pssh, hey pirates, missed smuggling opportunity, yo. Where's the vodka?

The Shot of Vodka is in the referral shop and the Vodka is in the token shop. Pirates totally got bamboozled.

What about having optional mix ins for recipes?
Like, say there's a brownie recipe, with a basic set of ingredients, but you could add mint choco chips, or walnuts or something to change the resulting item. I mean, rather than having a recipe for mint choco chip brownies and walnut brownies and caramel brownies and every other type

Love the idea of variations on a theme depending on a slight change of ingredients.
Or, adding on to your suggestion, you could use alternate ingredients but those alternate ingredients might increase the chance of a failed recipe since it's not an exact recipe.
Honestly, this is what I thought the failed recipe was based on. I mean, using whole milk versus skim milk will produce a slightly different out come. Cornmeal and pure flour are definitely not interchangeable in most things. I'm pretty sure chicken, quail and duck eggs are all different sizes so that would effect things too

I RS'ed an ostrich egg the other day and hilariously wondered if I could use it as ingredients. That would be one eggy cookie, for sure.
Nope, I don't think the ostrich egg works.
It doesn't. But there was a moment there when I had the most hilarious mental image of what it might make. xD

I'm really liking the new baking feature, it's great and an awesome idea. Only one problem is now I have an inventory stuffed to the brim with all sorts of ingredients.
I could obviously move them to a vault or shop/gallery and remove them as needed, but well, that's really tedious. I've been wanting to do quests but don't feel like sorting the items in my inventory out into sellables and baking goods. I understand I'm just lazy, but there ya go.
I was wondering if we could have some sort of "cupboard" or "pantry" that we can move the ingredients into and Fantine can just grab from there when we go to make something. This could even be branched out more in the future if something similar comes along for say just general cooking or whatever. A central place to store all our ingredients so they don't have to clutter our inventories.

I definitely think a pantry or something to store ingredients in would be cool. I'm keeping them all in my vault for now, but it does get a bit tedious having to take everything out when I want to make something. It's only a minor inconvenience, but still.
Just popping in to say that I really like the pantry idea as well, for the same reasons that have already been listed.

Nope, this is just a new thing you&;ll be able to do now whenever. :) During holidays we&;ll add a few themed baked foods (just think of the cute floral things that could happen for Vesnali), and some more generic things throughout the different months.
