Magnus looked as Sauvage asked for permission to bring her pet. His own cat was currently curled inside his bag sleeping. Maybe he should have asked too? Sometimes the boy just didn't know what to say around his friends so instead he just stood there like a twit waiting to see what plants where unwanted.
"Thank you!" Sauvage said to Aderyn (). Hermes bounced happily on her shoulder at the compliment. "My parents gave him to me as a gift when I received my letter from Beauxbations. He's been with my for 3 years now!" She scratched the top of his head. "Do you have any pets?" She asked as she began dropping her rose seeds into small pits she'd dug into the soil.
Aderyn straightened for a moment from where she'd been digging small holes to drop her bulbs into and nodded.
"I have an owl, too; a tawny named Hygieia. I've also cat a little devil of a cat named Boo."
She reached for the bag of rose bulbs and pulled a few out, carefully inserting them into the pits she'd dug, making sure they were spaced apart properly.
Gaia walked over to and gave her cute owl a treat, "pets are welcome, but they must stay with their owners and in some cases might have to stay away from the greenhouse if we work with plants dangerous for pets. If Hermes gets tired or wants to fly around we have some stands by the door for owls with bowls of water and the other owls are flying around the greenhouse as well." Gaia looked up pointing at her two owls perched on the railing of the greenhouse. She then turned to Magnus () "Like you could hide your cat from me." Gaia giggled "If you want he can help you dig."
Gaia turned to the group "If you have planted most of your seeds and seedlings please find other seeds that need planting. I have some magically enhanced water to add a few drops to each plant. Normally I would save this water for bigger plants, but we need some ingredients to grow a little faster and safely." Gaia turned to Aderyn, Harper, and Beth ( ) "Would you three be up for planting some mistletoe with me? We need to get some growing on the air planters in the back."
He gave her a mischivious smile. "Ain't 'iding, just didn't fink I needed ta ask." His accent getting a little muddled for some reason. "But nah, Kippers ain't gonna 'elp, too lazy. Vega's 'unting so just meself all on me own."
He picked up a bunch of seedlings and traipsed off to plant. He lost track of what the others were doing, lost in his own world and content to get covered in soil. In fact someone could have been right beside him and he wouldn't have noticed.
Aderyn glanced up from where she'd been covering the rose bulbs with dirt at the sound of 's voice. She brushed some dirt off of her hands and picked up a watering can, giving the freshly planted buds a little shower with some nutrient-rich enchanted water.
"Sure, I'd love to help!"

She had tried planting flowers and vegetables in pots before, but even with nonmagical plants, she had never been caring enough to nurture a plant to full growth. She made a mental goal in her head: Don't let your plant die. That was her goal this term. It sounded simple enough.
She stared defiantly at a mound of fresh earth and examined Magnus digging away beside her. She cleared her throat and asked, "Erm, hi. I'm Elune. Do you have any pointers as to how I begin planting?"
🌸Seeking:He picked his wand up and said "accio" pointing the wand behind him. Some seeds lazily made their way to him and when they reached him, he took them in his hand and set his wand back down. He had vaguely heard talking but wasn't really listening. He tried to rewind his brain in an attempt to hear what she'd said without sounding completely stupid. But it was no good, he hadn't caught a word of it. "Magnus is me. Did you need somefing?" She was looking at him like she had asked a question. Taking a guess he decided to reply with, "don't plant 'em too deep. And don't crowd 'em neither. Put three fingers together," he show his hand, "and use that ta measure your space from plant ta plant. They don't like it too good if they can't spread out. Pat their soil over 'em like a blanket. Not too tight as ta pack 'em in."

Sorry I've taken so long to reply. I've been super busy and haven't had access to a computer. Luckily, this thread is pretty slow-moving, so (unlike some other RP forums that I've had to drop) I should be able to continue socializing on here :)
"He is a Nothern Saw-Whet owl. He's really very small, which is common for his species. I have no issue with it though, in fact I prefer it. Because he's smaller, it's easier for me to travel with him more often. And his petite size just means he can't deliver larger packages. I got him in North America when I was 9, traveling with my dad through the states, and he's been with me ever since." Hermes whistled gleefully, his bright yellow eyes wide and content, as he bounced on her shoulder again. "He's really friendly, if any of you want to pet him. You just have to say his name and either hold out your arm or angle your head so he'll land on your shoulder."
Sauvage noted the lump in Magnus's bookbag and deduced that it must be his cat. She wondered what kind, but kept her distance. Cats tend to not get along with her and she was content planting her roses anyway.
"Thanks, Gaia! He's pretty energetic right now, but I'm sure he'll quiet down and need the perch eventually." As she talked, a lightbulb went off in her head and she thought of a great idea to help Hermes expel some of his excess energy. She placed her handful of seeds next to her on the ground and gave Hermes the instructions. She then continued to dig small holes in the soil while Hermes picked up seeds and flew back and forth, dropping one into each hand-formed pot.
( ) "Great! We need to have some mistletoe to give Beth for Potions. How would you like to do it in the air or bringing the pots down? You can choose!" Gaia turned around to make room on the students table and brought the seedlings and enchanted water to the table. "These should be ready to trim next week!" Gaia said excitedly.
Then she noticed the system was using and giggled to herself. That is one way to use pets in gardening!
"Between you and me, I love the small little owls, too. They're perfect for keeping one company! And their claws don't stick in hair quite so badly..."
She smiled wryly, remembering the many times Hygieia had landed on her shoulder when her hair had been down and had nearly taken half of her scalp off trying to get loose.
"I can happily plant it hovering for short bursts. Might be less dangerous than trying to levitate the pots off of their hangers!"
"Ow!" Sauvage reflexively touched her head. "That sounds painful. I've never had a bigger owl so I wouldn't know." She looked over at little Hermes and smiled, grateful for their pain-free relationship. She also noticed that he'd just dropped the last seed into its hole. She looked around the greenhouse at everyone else working diligently, wondering what to do next...
Having been distracted by someone talking to him, Magnus noticed Sauvage was using her owl to help plant seeds. Huh, he thought, clever. His lazy ginger cat finally stretched out and sauntered over to were he was. She wound herself around him and then to his disbelief jumped on Dax's back. She twirled for a moment, then laid down and went to sleep. He just froze wondering what to do.
Aria smiled watching Magnus's() cat curl up and sleep on Dax. "You're such a good kitty, aren't you?" Aria cooed softly. Aria noticed Magnus in his dumbfounded expression and giggled. "It looks like they are getting along perfectly," Aria commented to Magnus.

I really really extremely want:Magnus relaxed when Dax didn't object and Aria found it amusing. "Yeah, guess so. I'll move 'er if she's a problem though. Right lazy cat she is. Except she loves chasing our garden gnomes. The gnomes seem to like it too, though."
Aria smiled and shrugged, "I figure if Dax didn't lie it he would push her off." Aria pictures the car chasing the garden gnomes and found it to be quite cute and endearing. Looking at Dax and Magnus's cat cuddling Aria felt really relaxed and wonderful; like the moment was a perfect still picture moment. "I love their little unique personalities," she commented to magnus().

I really really extremely want:He considered her words and decided she was right, it was up to their animals. His cat was a good judge of character so if she liked Dax there was hope Magnus could in turn like him too. He did look sweet right then. "Yeah. She's the first pet I ever 'ad but she's very different from the others for sure. Like when she sleeps beside me an' purrs." He smiled brightly. Standing up and stretching out his back as he dusted off some of the earth that clinged to his clothes.
Aria liked seeing Magnus light up as he talked about his cat. "I'm glad you did finally get a cute pet," she commented. "I don't believe I caught her name, what is it?" Aria asked magnus().
