Sauvage walked over to the group of chatting students, finding her opportunity to join the conversation when they all fell silent. "So," she posed her question to everyone. "what got you all interested in herbology?" She silently hoped it wasn't a lame question.

Aria perked up at the question that Sauvage () asked. "I love playing in dirt and I especially love weeding!" Aria exclaimed excitedly. She blushed deeply because of her excited response and looked around sheepishly before finishing her answer. "I also really love planting useful plants for healing and potion making. I think it is fascinating to use plants to make amazingly strong potions. What makes you into herbology?" Aria asked Sauvage.

"Grew veg an' fruits at the orphanage when I lived there," he said causally, "plants are cool. They were me first pet. I mean, I know they ain't like a pet-pet but still, they listen to ya and grow pretty." Smiled at Aria hoping she was feeling a little better now.

That class gives me migraines. Plus, plants are essential ingredients in medicines and potions. It'd be great to learn more about their magical properties." Beth answered.

Beth grabbed some nearby pots and a bag of seeds from a nearby table. She placed the seeds at the center of the table and handed everyone an empty pot.

She blushed, embarrassed to be late for the club she had been looking forward to the most. She slinked in next to Beth () and looked around.

"I hope I didn't miss much," she whispered to her friend.

CAPTAIN POST

Gaia was carrying a box of small plants and some hand tools towards the back of the room when she passed by Harper () and whispered "you did not miss a thing!" she winked and turned to Beth () "I am so glad to see you here!" beaming at her friend she continued to the back of the room greeting everyone. She had to admit to herself she was really nervous to be captain this term. There were so many thing going around in her head she knew she needed to start from the ground up, laughing to herself at her own pun Gaia went to the front of the Greenhouse.

I am your captain for the term and I am hoping we get to learn and enjoy Herbology in a safe and fun atmosphere! and by that I mean we are not being graded! Gaia laughed and continued pointing out where things are. "I made a map to help as a guide for where things will be located and an easy way to know what areas we will be working on." ((OOC: map is in post three of the forum board))

"This week we will begin with safety measures. I know we have gone over them in class and many of you have been doing this most of your life, but I still need to go over safety and also the tools we will be using. It is also likely we will be helping the Potions club with some ingredients for potions. I figured it would be a fun idea for the members who are in both clubs to be part of the process from start to finish. Either way it is good for us to learn more about the plants we use in every day potion making or the rare plants we might not know much about to better understand Potion making, Healing tinctures, remedies, and also give us an understanding of what plants can do for us."

"Before I forget some of you might be asking why we don't have much growing in the greenhouse right now. I asked for permission for this to be the greenhouse for the club and what was here was moved to greenhouse two for first year classes. Whatever we don't use will be donated for the potions ingredients closet and edible ones will go to the kitchens. If there are any questions before we begin now is the time for them."

"Me?" Sauvage said to Aria (). "I've always had a passion for gardening. My mama had a garden in Montpellier where we lived and she's trying to start one up ion London again but it's difficult with there being so little sun and all. But, yeah, I've been gardening with my mama since I was of 3 years old."

Sauvage turned when she heard Gaia laugh out of the blue. What was so funny? No one had said anything.

Sauvage stayed quiet as she listened to Gaia and nodded her head. She liked that everything they did in Herbology club seemed to fuel something else in Hogwarts. Each group interacting and helping one another; it made everything seem so much bigger and yet so much smaller, more homely, at the same time. She smiled, excited to get started.

"Ta," Magnus said to Beth. He waved to a girl he didn't know but did know her name was Harper. Then Gaia started the club and he waited patiently to be given more instruction. Taking his sketchbook out he started sketching the greenhouse map for want of anything else to do.

"What plants are you interested in learning about, Harper?" ()

Aderyn listened intently to Gaia and glanced over as Harper came in, waving at the girl. Her attention was caught a moment later as Beth said whatever Magnus was doing was a good idea and she peered over at the two of them, pursing her lips.

"I'm definitely not good enough at drawing to sketch a proper map, but I'll give it a shot. Ta, guys."

She picked up her quill and began tracing the map. The sketch was rough and approximate at best, but the general idea came across. As she finished up, she set her quill back down and bounced excitedly on the balls of her feet.

Magnus was finshed with the first sketch rather quickly, so he handed the map to Harper. "'Ere you go, I can make meself another one. Name's Magnus." To Beth he smiled sayin', "was thinkin' I do a differen't one as the plants grow, but maybe that's silly. 'Ey now Aderyn, your's looks good."

CAPTAIN POST

Gaia brought out different pairs of safety goggles, gloves, seeds, tools, and a few books. "I will be passing out some Herbology starter packs for everyone. You are welcome to use the small pots on the tables to plant your flower seeds! These can later be taken to your common rooms, dorms, or given to someone!"

Aria half smiled at Magnus () but her heart wasn't in the gesture. Aria took the proffered pot from Beth,() "Thank you!" she said cheerfully, happy to have something to do to keep her mind busy.

Aria noticed that everyone ( and ) seemed to be making copies of the map and decided that she had better do it too. Just as she finished her drawing Gaia came in and handed out the books and safety equipment. Dax quickly pounced over to the pile of seeds and grabbed a mouthful of seed packets and carried them to Aria. Giggling she took the seeds from Dax "Thanks" she whispered while blushing, hoping that it was ok for him to grab the seeds like that. She set down the seeds in the center of the table so everyone could use them.

((OOC: Sorry I have been slow to respond. I'm moving on the 23 of this month and have been super super busy packing last min things and getting all the packing done - it's a beast of a job. I've also been in the ER twice this week with severe chest pain (they think it's because I'm too underweight and working too hard and not enough protein in my diet) shrug But they said my heart doesn't have any blockages, which is good. Anyways, that is why I have been slow to respond. And as a heads up I'll be without real internet for about a week or so (only having my phone) after I move, so I'll be slow then too. :D ))

Grabbing some parchement paper Magnus started scrawling a letter whilst Gaia handed out the starter packs. He loved the idea of having a plant in his dorm to look after, though he had never thought of it himself. He finished his letter fairly quicky and promised he would send it the moment the club ended. Smiling to himself feeling that the letter would very much help Aria he felt so much better himself.

"You're welcome, Beth(). I'm sorry if the seeds are a bit drool-soaked from Dax," she said casting her glance in Dax's direction.

Aria sat down and started reading the safety guides that Gaia handed out. She really only needed to read the chapters that centered on magic care. She flipped to the magic sections and studied them carefully, like there was going to be a test on it that afternoon. She really was in her own world and didn't even notice that Magnus () was grinning at her until Dax put his paws on her book, begging for attention. She looked around and asked "What is so funny?" Aria thought that she had missed something clever.

Aderyn smiled at Magnus.

"Thanks! I tried!"

She grinned up at Gaia as the girl handed out the starter kits and she picked up the seed packets, reading up on the planting instructions. She adored gardening and was excited to plant the seeds. She knew the flowers would look lovely on her windowsill once they'd grown.

Magnus shook his head, "Ain't laughing. Just 'ad a thought is all." He pulled out an owl treat. "Can I give it to Dax?" He would have to get used to the animal eventually. "I think it looks good, but you forgot the most important part," he said pointing to his station, "you forgot me right there."

"See how much attention I pay? Not nearly enough!"

She chuckled as she scrawled some final details, including their station, down on her map.
