I agree. I had two amazing history teachers in middle and high school. They had a way of making me sit on the edge of my seat for an hour and fanning my already strong love into a life long interest. :) I wish everyone had my teachers!

Seriously! For years I took nothing and suffered. I hate taking meds, but I'd rather function than feel like I'm going to die while working.

The other problem is they are given a list of things that will be on an exam with the answers the people who set these things want. But they have no comprehension on how long explaining this sort of thing can take. So they give the teachers timed targets to make sure they cover the material by a certain date. The fact that the class may only have a vague grasp of what's happening and have only learned to repeat things like a parrot without understanding any of it or why it's important is ignored. Life really isn't that serious as you say. Let the kids find the interest in the subject.

Do you do anything for Easter? :)

When I was in School I had to go a sleep for an hour before I could function because they didn't like giving us pain killers in case we had a reaction. I just couldn't do anything without sleeping off the worst of it. It always upsets me when people make light of period pains. They're are NOT simple things to deal with.

Thank you to whoever sent me the lovely spring themed gift!

The strict teaching schedules were also the major problem with my history classes in school. I was lucky and got quite good teachers overall but if you're drilling people on absolutely unnecessary dates anyone can look up in an encyclopedia and can't teach why you're drumming them into kid's heads, you can be an amazing teacher and still can't keep up students' interest in history - because by then, they'll firmly believe that history is all about remembering boring dates no one needs to know anways. And who would be interested in that?

Easter is not terribly special for my family (sure, it's a holiday and that's nice and who doesn't love chocolate but that's it - we're not a very religious lot). Dad's in Hong Kong for three months so it'll just be my mother, my two sisters and me. We're already discussing what to eat (home cooking vs. eating out and such). I'll probably need to get cracking with the calculations for my thesis (oh joy - I took a peek at the data today and it's slightly disheartening). Oh, and since I'll be stuck to my laptop anyway I'll flee from the depressing reality of my data to the fun of Masquerade on Subeta. ;-)

Happy first day of autumn to you miss Arwen. Hopefully you don't have foul winters there. Autumns leading to winter makes me like autumn a lot less than I should as beautiful as it is. I haaate cold and snow. Thank goodness it's finally leaving us here in the midwestern USA.

chuckles Nope, no egg-dyeing for me. I don't think we ever did that. Well, with us being three kids that would be a hassle, especially since one of my sisters used to have a knack for destroying nearly anything she got her hands on. Not something you want to do with eggs... XD

Maybe we'll get in another theme before they (finally) start Masquerade - or my choosing someone will ensure that they start it tonight. Five minutes after I've gone to bed. XD Anyways, we can always get back to it once Masquerade is over. So, , pick the next theme? :-)

I feel like a kid on a sugar rush. It feels like I'll just burst unless they start soon and I get a way to vent all that pent-up energy... XD

Well, I prefer the non-sticky, non-messy fun, thanks. ;-)

ugh, yes. Mine are not terrible always but I get hot flashes and migraines every time, and lately aches too. ?. I hate it when people act like you are a wimp. I mean, parts of labor were not as bad as period sometimes!

oh fun!! We don't do much for Easter but I do plan to get a few eggs hidden for my tot. She saw some Discarded ones at the park and was sooo excited. Haha. :)

next theme! I think we should give a nod to the seasons and do an outfit representing our favorite seasons. :) if I don't change, forgive me. I'm on my phone and it just hates the wardrobe now.

I had an amazing teacher when I was in adult education so I know how much depends on a good teacher who is able to figure a way around the silly expectations and still makes classes fun wanna come with me visiting my family? Easter's a big thing with us and my mother's making an amazing brunch and would love to welcome you too. She said I could bring you at any time. We would only go for sunday except we decide to go to the easter event on saturday evening too. It's easter-fire ;-)

Nice layering <3 As for the history of spring and easter eggs, I was aware of that. I always find it fascinating to see how different cultures and their religions seem to borrow from each other to mold into whatever works for them. Those "heathen" ideas have helped form many of the religions we use today. But enough about this, don't want anyone to get upset about this sort of talk. I love to learn new things and am always happy to talk about it without getting upset.

We haven't dyed eggs or did an easter egg hunt since my siblings were young kids. Since the family that I do have here in town is a small group and none of us have kids yet, we usually just meet up and hang out at my Father's. This year he wants to do a cookout and play monopoly.. we'll see how that goes. What about you?

I usually like spring - if it weren't for the bouts of hay-fever that brings about. But so far I've been fine with spring in Japan (maybe because it rains nearly every day if I go there... -.-), so here's my season-themed HA! :-D

Thanks for the offer. 😊 I'll probably have to talk it over with Mum (even if Easter's not special, she has been making Plans - yes, the capital is intented). :-) Count me out for the easter-fire, the smoke always makes me gag. XD

Very true. It's a shame as history has so much to offer. I do feel we should learn more world history in schools. How we've affected each other as nations and how we've gotten along. Royal families and the like along with politics and how we've reacted to each other. I think it would help us understand each other and what's important to everyone. That might help avoid misunderstandings. As long as you have fun. ^^ My brother will be away for Easter. But me and my parents will spend it together. I think I or my Dad will cook this year as Mum has work to do. I'm sure once you get going on it, the calculation won't be too bad. You'll also have the dancing to enjoy too. ^^ Well, once they start it. It seems to be taking a while. Like you I went with the Japanese them of spring cherry blossoms. I've got allergies too. I've got some medicine for it but I need to wait for my cold to finish. Oh well, not long to go until I finish sneezing. Are you allergic to early pollen?

We'll be dying the eggs for egg yarping this week. That's always fun. We're trying a new dying technique this year so we're looking forward to seeing if it works.

I know! I just hate it when someone who doesn't have this sort of problem just tells you to go take a pain killer. That won't solve the problem! My brother and my Dad never understood why I had this problem until they asked me what it was like. I told them. They gave me a hot water bottle and left me alone after that. I think that should be part of your school education. A woman who suffers telling you what it's like. It might save you a lot of grief later on. Nice choice of theme! It's actually stumped me. I love all the seasons for different reasons. Summer is really nice to rest in the garden but only in the winter can you snuggle up in bed after a hot meal and listen to the rain pattering against the window and feel all warm. Autumn is such a mix but a relief after the heat of the summer. Plus all the hearty foods come into season while spring is just so fresh and full promise. I couldn't decide! So I went with the current season. It's spring here at last and I've had this outfit for a while. So I decided to show it off. ^_^

Thank you. ^^ I thought it worked well with the cape and blue was favored by the Celts. We're more interlinked than you'd expect. They've found the story of Cinderella inscribed on the documents of ancient Egypt and blood pudding is first recorded as a Roman dish. Chicken tika is a UK invention and the Croissant was probably made first in Austria. We've influenced and helped each other build stories and societies. It's a strange fact that many forget. Sounds like you'll have a fun Easter. We'll do our annual egg yarping and fortune telling eggs. Then we'll have celebratory lunch and play a board game. If the weather is good we may go for a walk. Fairly simple but still fun. ^^

Nice new theme! I prefer the late summer, almost autumn. When the days are ripe and the evenings golden. The summer heat has broken already but it isn't really cold. Perfect for nice walks in nature, so here you have my avatar!

Marcel doesn't want to go either so no problem! Do talk with your mom and consider it earnestly. It would be fun! I promise ;) We start Sunday morning and get back on Sunday evening but you can stay with us on Saturday so it won't get too early. You'll meet the most crazy family you've probably ever met and can amuse yourself without end, have amazing food and get a feeling how Easter is like at a home inhabited by people who are really REALLY crazy about Easter.

Oh, and whatever you do decide, we will be dying eggs on Thursday! I can't believe you've never tried that!
