Thanks! 😊 It's wonderfully quiet. The thing I was preparing for the other day went quite well, so there's no fallout to deal with (only the usual stupidity). :-) It still kept me busy for two full days so I'm quite grateful there's only minor issues to deal with now.
Welcome back. Good to see you again. ^_^
Oh, fun theme! Here's my attempt. Did you want Suzan Strom's story? I read the Fantastic Four comics while I was growing up.
I'm feeling alot better I'm glad to say. Slight cough still but overall I'm back to normal. Very nice Ancient Egyptian outfit. I love the addition of the tiger. ^_^ I hope school is going well.
For my outfit I went with the Celts or people of ancient northan Europe if you prefure. They were artists, warrirors, scientists and had an education system that had a level akin to gaining a degree today. They would frequently wear bright colours and decorate their hair with boroaches and all sorts. They just didn't have much in the way of written records. Which is a shame. They had many secrets I'd love to learn about.
It's a wonderful avatar and description! I love it u
Thank you. ^_^ Nice pirate outfit. Looks like you've got a few monkeys with you now.
More is discovered every day. There was a find made in Germany that really showed just how smart and world wise they were. It was robbed from a grave in the Black Forest so we've lost any hope of knowning who owned it and what they were like. It's called the Bronze Disk. It went on the black market where a couple of historians saw its picture and an international sting opperation began to track it down. They were successful and the disk is currently in a muesum being studied. It's a disk of (now) green bronze with star consitlations and aboat made of gold decorating its surface. The star consitlation most prominent is one that can only be seen in the first part of the year when winter begins to turn to spring. A time to celebrate and start planting for the comming year. On either side on the edge of the disk are two bands of gold. If held against the horizon using the starts as a guide, they are the distance the sun travels across the sky throughout the year as the earth tilts towards and away from the sun. The boat illustration is interesting too. Historians think it's the sun boat of Egypt meaning that those who made it had such close trading links with Ancient Eygpt they adopted the symbol of the sun. Far from the brutal barbarian Roman portrayed.
Sounds more and more intriguing. Archeology and anchient cultures really are fascinating, aren't they? :-)
Edit: Never mind and I'm sorry if I offended you. When I'm interesting in something I tend to forget that other people don't necessarily view discussions as fun... ^.^
