I love how everytime Subeta make some sort of team event, it's X against X and some people are getting very paranoid and rage filled. I don't get why people are getting pissy over a virtual contest thing.
As far as I know, we could have all cheated at some point so we should stop pointing an accusing finger at everyone jfc. And I'm not even in a winning team, btw.
I think at this point anything done or not done won't go over very well for some. Have we ever had a team event lately that ended well with no controversy? I think us users can only handle competition events when we all are working together for a common goal. Though at this point I'm sick of the name calling from both sides. Way to ruin it. I don't want a trophy. In fact I'd forfeit the pet slot if I could remove myself from this now. I just want this over with and forgotten.
I'm not blaming whoever used the MB glitch over this. That would be on staff for letting an glitch abuse pass when users can be frozen for that. So what would have happened if some found a way to get pass the vending limit? I mean in the same way as the MB glitch, you are paying for those items even though you figured out unlimited vending. But hey, if it was okay then I'll look for glitches I can use to my advantage during the next event. ;p

Well if we want to get technical, using auto refresh could also be considered cheating since a programme does the hardest part for you. Yet we nearly all do it ;)
except staff has said for years that autorefresh is tolerated.
Yeah I know. And I'm not excusing anything, I'm still pissed. But now they said they are not going to consider that as cheating either...Even though it will be 'fixed' Just because staff said we can use auto refresh, Doesn't mean it isn't still cheating.
I am a bit late to the board but I also wanna give my two cents. I think it's a great idea to have a prize for runner ups, even without the MB thing (that was 100% fair) I'd support this. Because, like, there are MILLIONS of items donated and people giving their best 24 hours a day, and do all that work to not get a prize at the end is kinda of a stab in the soul.
I agree with what other people have said about everyone getting some kind of trophy for our profiles, because like they said it's more of like a reminder of your participation in the event. It's not like it has any sort of monetary value, it's just nice to look at. I was surprised when reading the news post in the beginning that only the winning team would get trophies because that seems really different from how it's been for past events.
That's all though, the other prizes are fine the way they are.
The participation prize is the runner-up prize. You're still getting a skin, an item for picking your team, and a pet slot.
For future events, may I suggest instead of pitting users against each other in teams, make all the users apart of one team and make some evil villain npc or just npcs in general another team. that way we can all work together. we may not make the final goal, but there's no drama about "well your team did this and my team only did this a little bit."
ok but how am i supposed to gloat with a nice new item if other people have an equal chance to get it?
This is sad, because this shouldn't be necessary, we should be capable of handling a team x team event...
achievements for participating x amount. and that's totally the wrong way to look at it anyway.
sad but it's clear by now that we can't handle it.
I think there should have been personal tiers in the event, just to incentivize contributing more even if the team is not in first place.
Like not items or an achievement, but a fancier trophy.

Or next time....
And we should manage a week without wanting to kill everything.
I don't like forcing teams on people.
I personally wouldn't have played if the team didn't really appeal to me. Like, if I was forced on something like Team Mischief, I would have lolnoped, sent three items and moved onto bigger projects.
It's the team I related to the least, so Murphy's Law would have shoved me there.
How about if we are just 'Team A' 'Team B' etc Then none of us are cool. We're all just different parts of the alphabet? xD
Tiers for donating wouldn't discourage glitch abuse but would encourage it. I wish I could think of a way to achieve the site's desire to get stuff out of people's inventories and hoards without incentivizing "by any means possible", but I'm failing.
I feel like showing the scores was something we'd asked for multiple times in the past. I remember people getting very upset because we didn't know how well we were doing in comparison to others. I totally sympathize with the "there's no way to get ahead now, let's stop trying" problem with having scores out and showing, but would it be any better to have, say, a bar graph without actual numbers?
Or would people start asking for actual numbers again?
BUT WHAT IS I'M ON TEAM STUPID VOWEL. CONSONANTS FTW.
D. For Dunce. Nobody wants to be on team D :(
