I didn't even know about the glitch...
That being said, I'm not sure 2 separate special/unique items are the way to go. The winners might be interested in the other item as well, and find it unfair they didn't get it. I don't agree with any special or unique item for a selected group, be it winners or losers. I'm already fearing the winner's item will be a super pretty wearable that I'll never be able to get. :/ I would find it more logical if they gave the extra pet slot uniquely to the winners. That's a bonus for them, but still something that can be obtained for the losers as well should they want it.
I'm not sure why there aren't going to be trophies for everyone who participated. People like trophies. 1st, 2nd, 3rd, participation. It would show scores and involvement as well. I don't agree with additional other prizes, though.
I am incredibly disappointed by the response by the staff in regards to the Mystery Box debacle. Once the truth of the matter came out, it wasn't acknowledged in any way other than saying that "everything's cool, guys." The error was then "fixed" to 1) shut up the complainers, 2) prevent future abuses, or 3) both. And since something was fixed, doesn't that mean it wasn't working properly? See definition of glitch above.
I'm also willing to go out on a limb and say it'll be impossible to determine who abused it day of, and how it truly impacted scores. But for me, that's not the point. I'm honestly okay with the aftermath of the scores. Mischief and Sticky have proven to be highly active teams, regardless of outcome. However, staff shouldn't have waved off the GLITCH simply because it's a casual competition. All that was wanted was some acknowledgement and a clear explanation. Also a lowered amount of mud-slinging would've been nice.
(And to the people saying Mischief also abused the glitch. I can't speak to that. If it happened, it wasn't widespread, and definitely not publicized. Any individuals who did so, haven't been active.)
On a separate note, why is there only one trophy? A big problem right now is that there are three teams who have basically given up. There's no special prize for finishing second, and there's certainly no prize for third and below.
I'm in the camp that doesn't support a runner-up prize. Perhaps the final post could include the top 5-10 donators for each of the five groups.
Additionally, what would be nice to see come the end of this- full team stats. How many members were in each, how many items were donated by each team, how many cheered, how much money was taken out of the system (by both MB and snowballs), what was the most popular snowball donated, etc.
tl;dr: "Don't worry! There was no glitch, but we fixed it anyway because people were abusing it."
[Edit] For those unaware, the MB glitch entailed mass clicking on the Buy button, thereby bypassing the one-item-per-click wait time, and being able to get hundreds of items in the span of time it would've taken to get a handful. I heard about it the day after, when it was revealed that Team Sticky had discovered it, proceeded to spread the word, and abuse it for the last few hours of the day. (I believe one of the strategies involved mass-buying then, and then waiting for the last day to mass-donate.)
Just have to point out briefly that there is at least one person not affiliated with the team (me, team no team sob) who are selling Mischief team items exclusively. So I would disagree with that conclusion. While I definitely have a preference as to who wins, not surprised others do as well and they are their items to do with as they wish.
I think what gets me most about the situation is this creeping feeling in general that "can't win without autorefreshers or abusing glitches". Not a fan of what happened, and it kind of taints the contest for me. How is it a true contest of anything if glitches are exploited without consequence and autorefreshers used? When autorefreshers and glitch abuse is NECESSARY to win? Meh.
Leaves a bad taste in my mouth and honestly kind of glad I'm not on a team. It's saved me some serious stress.
Autorefreshers, not autopricers. :p
Team Mischief - we don't need pity prizes to tell us how well we did. We know how well we did! This event didn't run as smoothly as expected and, yeah, that sucks, but I'd rather we finish this event with dignity instead of demanding that we get more prizes. All that does is make us look very bad.
AHAHAHA whoops! YES I meant autorefreshers. xD
I thought the whole thing was super fun up until that moment, yeah, even without a team. I did really appreciate that those of us who missed the cutoff and wanted to join in could, and would at least have a chance at some of the participation prizes. That's super awesome and I appreciate that very much.
OK.
THE LEAD THAT STICKY GOT WAS LONG BEFORE THE USE OF THE MB.
I'll admit I'm a Team Stick and it's beyond frustrating to be called a cheater when we are busting our asses to do what we can as a team smaller than Mischief and because of that 2hour span they are completely disregarding all the hard work we are DOING RIGHT NOW.
At this point it's already been handled and the subject just needs to be dropped. As far as I know there wasn't as many people using it as you might expect, even now we are constantly working on strategy about where we are spending and buying to keep pushing forward.
For those saying that we are gaining because we are donating what we got from MB. WE AS A TEAM PUSH TO DONATE AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE EARLY. We aren't encouraging members to hold onto anything because we want all of our points in the system just in case the site has problems. The numbers you are seeing is what we are doing now, I spent most of the day yesterday restocking between work.
Just waiting until this thread gets locked for one reason or another.
The fact that users paid money for the items they weren't supposed to receive doesn't make this not an exploit. I could sit at the MB all day and buy myself hundreds of super-rare items to frag, thousands of boosters to use on my battle pet... and I'm buying them at main shop price, not at user-shop price. AKA, super cheap and super profitable. This absolutely is an exploit, and I'm disappointed in staff for saying otherwise.
Hey, remember that last boss battle? When they gave the top 10 of each tier a special prize? Why did they not do that for this event? Top 10 for each team would have worked wonders for keeping people involved and working toward the team score.
Posting from work so no response for hours :/
I am going to agree with this, because a lot of you guys are so hung up on the MB crap you're losing focus on the event that is going on. Team Sticky is destroying us quite fairly right now. We caught up to them after the entire "fiasco", so their lead right now is them doing their thing.
It saddens me that you'll let a behaviour like this dampen your feelings on this event. Do I want to win? Sure! But honestly, what has been done is done and dealt with. We need to move on and finish this event with as much positive of an attitude and gusto as possible. (Also I suck with words but yeah I'm sure you guys catch my drift)
ty for the ping I just plug along cheering an donating what I can when I am on :D have a good one all
Munchie (1981-2011)
Always in our thoughts an <3
oh let them talk !!! battlers always want to win everything ! and if they cannot win others are cheating
now, i am not even able to restock much, so i must quest like mad- vend like crazy and empty my vault, that is the only solution for me :) because all shops are always emtpy for me
so i know we are deleting all are stuff and i wont let them temper my fun on this event with that talk :):) stay positive friends and continue beating them :):)
Clearly abusing a glitch is okay when it's during an event. That's the message I got from staff. So remember guys, next event, abuse glitches! Because it's okay now! Absolutely no consequences, as demonstrated with this event.
To me, this whole thing has just been staff being LAZY. Conveniently not a glitch for one situation because it'd be too much work to take care of, but definitely a glitch for a hypothetical later situation. Pure laziness.
Competitions are supposed to be fun, but then someone cheats, and the referee does nothing, it leaves a sour taste in everyone else's mouth, about the opposing team, the event itself, as well as the referee.
It's easy for staff to say it's not a glitch for this situation, and at the same time definitely note that it would be a glitch for another situation. You can't pick and choose when to enforce the rules. Abusing a glitch is abusing a glitch, and it's against site rules. I'm seriously disappointed in staff for this.
edit: I guarantee that if some people on team Stick Together hadn't abused this glitch, AKA cheated, no one would be mad. And yes, they would still have a lead over us right now. But we wouldn't be mad about that, we're mad because they exploited a glitch and got away with it. That's the thing. Everyone is calling us sore losers. But if they had just gone on to beat us fairly, we'd just be like "aw bummer we're losing" and that's it. Read. We're not mad because Team Stick Together is winning. We're mad because some of their team did something against site rules and staff did nothing. That's why we're mad.
Oh snap, glitch exploitation.
Last I checked that was against the rules of the site in general.

like usual i am and was not aware of a glitch - to be honest i dont know what happened - by the time i get home from work - have made food and got dinner - did some household task and then sit at the computer i just rush to do quests -vend - and empty vault ( trying to restock but so far no luck all shops that are for snowball event are empty for me ;( pitty but i am used to it ( read: i am a bit slow for it but i can live with it) after all its a game and one must know his restrictions rofl :)
but i do love the snowmen it looks great i love peka like that !!
I am Team Stick Together and don't even know what MB or whatever you are talking about is so don't be pointing fingers unless you know who and what you are talking about. Some people just can't stand to be second. This is a GAME and you are supposed to have fun! So lighten up and relax and enjoy your day.
Edit: Oh and I have done this with emptying my shops, buying snowballs and restocking so anyone can do great but it takes hard work and lots of time!
Team Stick Together YOUR TEAM! Team Score: 2,231,016 Your Contribution: 28,833.0
You can cheer for your team again in 6 minutes.
Not trying to start anything, just posting to let you know that mb stands for Mystery Box, which was pulling items from Bake Stop on Wednesday.
I hope scores will be shown under trophies, to see who I should avoid in the future.
Also, to people who are giving every single member of Stick Together a bad time over this, seriously. Are you 100% sure that no one on your team auto-refreshed to get snowballs, or Mystery Box items? Especially with larger teams.
Can you vouch for each individual member of your team?
Completely agreed. Both teams are currently one million points ahead of whoever is in third. That's odd
Thanks I don't do well with things that are broken down to just letters lol to much guessing.
my favorite thing is that you guys are acting like there probably weren't members of your team that did the same thing?? ?
i don't think there should be runner up prizes. at most, if staff is able to, just nullify scores across all teams for items that came from the mystery box or smth
