Not all the teams used the MB glitch, I'm on team Nature and we didn't even touch it or know about it. Some members used auto refreshers which are not against the rules, Only frowned upon slightly.

I'm extremely disappointed in how this was handled. By that, I mean how it's a grey area on what is okay and what isn't. From comments I saw, team mischief was the one to be bashed the most on the forums because we were "sore losers". Well, sorry I don't appreciate what I consider, and what should've been considered cheating all along, but that doesn't make me a sore loser. Now, granted, I know team stick together was also getting ridiculed, but I still feel team mischief got the worst of it.

Anyway, Can we please have more community driven events where all of us work together to reach a common goal, like the questing for a pet slot, rather than all of these "small team" ordeals.

I've basically learned from this event that there are certain people I'd rather not deal with and to take what is written in the rules and terms with a grain of salt.

Sorry if I sound, I dunno, snippity? I'm just severely upset by everything that went on.

This is just absolute insanity. No one would ever know we're a 13+ website. Everything I learned of the glitch, I've learned from here. I always thought they were talking about the fact the shop rotated to Bake Stop. Although, it does pain me to think of the sore fingers I could have saved. I had two tabs open and was CTRL+TABing between the two while CTRL+Ring each one. Not fun. Hella pageviews. xD

Regardless, I did have a CRAPTON of fun during this event. I couldn't help as much as I wanted, but I loved reading through my team's thread and seeing them cheer each other on. Team Nature was SO much fun to be around and fight for 3rd place with. It was like we had a second competition since the first two teams were so far ahead.

This is the first time I've been this excited to get on Subeta in awhile, and it sucks that the feeling wasn't widespread. :

I do think repercussions should have happened. A glitch is a glitch is a glitch. If it provides an unfair advantage, even for a small amount of time, then it's... well... unfair? I'm not saying clear items or sections or people or w/e. Just staff going "oh shit, y'all. Our bad. Bye." I wasn't really on a team crazy affected by it, so I'm not as butthurt as I could be, but it just kind of sucks to see a super great event tainted like this.

Good try, Subeta, but you've still a ways to go.

I don't understand why people that were caught cheating (and I'm not naive - I know it happened on more than one team) were just not disqualified, fairly simple.

I'm going to throw my support behind the "whole-site-as-one-team" events taking precedence over "small teams" events idea. It takes out the possibility of one team having more members and overwhelming the competition that way (I'm not sure if that's what happened here or not; I saw that apparently there was some balancing measure in place but I have no idea what), and makes it less stressful because then you can contribute at your own pace with more people at your back.

But even though there were some Shenanigans that made this event less awesome than it could have been, admittedly I did have fun hanging around my team's thread and the prizes were great.

IDK, I think the prizes were ... actually pretty overkill for such a small little event. A free pet slot and ice skin just for helping out, even if you were late to the party. + an item if you were on a team. + id you won, an item a bit earlier than everyone else can get it, forum title, and a trophy. Really, the only exclusives that the winning team got were the title and a trophy, which are nice to haves, but don't really directly impact anyone else's enjoyment of the site, not like releasing more special items were.

And I'm with on remembering the fiasco of the Battle of the Bands, and I'd hope staff wouldn't try repeating that again.

And I'm with that it does kind of suck to have people saying my team won unfairly or suggesting that we're all cheaters (I would hope my 10.5 points I got would say otherwise...) and upset that we won when ... all we got, again, were a couple of nice-to-have things that aren't game breakers? IDK. I get feeling like staff could have done something differently. I don't get being mad at the winners or wanting to get exclusive items when not even Team Stick Together got any exclusive winners items.

I'm curious how the score are calculated, and how big each team is. Staff had said it's neither the total nor the average, and there's some sort of balancing for smaller teams...

My theory is that there's some sort of multiplier applied to the total number of donations, with smaller teams having a higher multiplier.

If that was it, you'd think the smaller teams' scores would have been a lot higher.

I have trouble believing it was anything other than total donations.

- Any chance you could tell us how scoring was done now that the competition is over?

I remember this from one of the newsposts (might have been the one where scores were first shown):

Quote by grelca

all i will say is let&;s not make assumptions about how the scoring is done. it might not be averages or straight. 😉

I did some calculations, across all teams, the total points = 7,634,011. Assuming there were 2000 users participating in the contest, that averages to ~3817 per person, and I feel like that's too high for the average for the entire site...

Also, multipliers don't necessarily have to be that big, for example, there could be like a 1.1 or 1.2 multiplier on the total.

I know this thread is more talking about the glitch, that I actually didn't know about until right now, but I would like to give some small feedback.

Team events can be fun, but when you do a team event, maybe people shouldn't get extra for the winning team, just special stuff. What I mean is, in this event the winners got an extra trophy and forum title. My advice would be give the winning team their special trophy and give the losers a bronze participation trophy and give the winners a special team forum title, but give all the losers a more generic title to show participation. This would motivate more people to just pick the team they wanted, instead of which they think will win and help people feel better about losing.

If you didn't want to do that, I would suggest site events, as people were stating above, where we all work for a common goal. Team events are really fun, but as long as there's extra prizes based on which team wins and not personal involvement, there will always be drama coming from the event.

I was told about it around ten at night or something like that idk I was on tumblr so this "THEY CHEATED ALL DAY" is ridiculous please stop. on top of that, people on team hot dad are not the only ones who did it so please stop with your holier than thou attitude. yes it sucks and yes it doesn't make it right but let's be real we got 100k+ points today from not the MB. just think how many items that actually was. you really think we accumulated all 2mil points from the MB? that wouldn't even make sense

you all need to chill literally it's a game stop finger pointing stop getting snarky af we are all subetans but honestly like I don't even wanna be friends with some of you now

Team BFF Here ~ Just wanted to make a quick comment. I personally donate a fairly decent amount towards our team. However, I was not aware of this MB issue happening till the next day. I'm not sure about that statement of our team member/s rsing at MB then reselling them to another team at a cheaper price, is even true. I will say this though, I hope that not all members of our team will be stereotyped as such ~ ^.^ ~

I mean like you didn't need the MB to use an autorefresher (refresh @ 30 sec intervals for one snowball and donation page for that snowball) and those have been acknowledged as begrudgingly accepted since like, the first zombie event.

But why even have events with prizes or anything at this point because the fact that some people won't get them is unfair.

I think it's been said before that most of us in general don't mind the fact that Team Stick Together won. Any team could've won, that would've been just fine and dandy. What made me mad and I think a lot of people mad was that something was considered not a glitch, then when it was brought up it could be bad for in the future, it was suddenly fixed and yet nothing was done about the tons of items donated that were created via this glitch. Honestly, for me, if we wouldn't have just gotten a generic too bad answer, I would've been fine. Like, if it couldn't be fixed then, as much as I know I and everyone else hate them, do a roll back to right before the mystery box day or something and change the mb to be something else. OR at the very least tell us that you can't fix it because it'd be too difficult to differentiate what was given through restocking/what was given through the mb. Does it mean I'd think it was peachy keen then and fine, no, but at least it's better than "it's not a glitch" when it clearly is/was. If it wasn't set up to do that in the first place, then that makes it a glitch in my book.

Anyway, it's going to continue to irk me for reasons, but I'm not "salty" that I didn't win. I can take a loss that I rightfully deserved. I may not like it, but I'll accept it. I can and will be miffed about how it was handled though, nothing is going to change that for me lol

They really did, one of my RL friends was on Team Stick and she was sinking a lot of time and money into the competition. As for the drama, I say it's all water under the bridge now, 'cause there's really nothing we can do about it now.

That being said, I don't really want a runner up prize, but for all teams to receive placement trophies for the even would be nice.

Like a gold trophy for stick as 1st place, silver 2nd for us, down to a tin trophy for Sibling, mainly because at least it shows we have a trophy for our event AND it shows you how well your team did. Or At least a trophy to display on the page for event participation with your personal score under it like the RS War trophies, since it was said that we don't much get trophies anymore.

Personally, I prefer the first idea because it's actually showing how much effort the team as a whole put in xD.
