Well it actually started with the Germans at first sterilizing people who were mentally disabled (thats basically what eugenics is, sterilizing or rarely killing people in society who are looked down up, such as different races), that then turned into gassing the mentally and physically disabled then came the Holocaust. Eugenics basically explains why Hitler did what he did and this was a very popular idea at the time. The US, Canada and Europe were all for creating a better white race so they tried to make criminals, the mentally ill, ect. have less children and eventually that led to forced sterilization for many people. Sorry for going on a tangent haha.

I have seen the movie and it's really sad but the movie about the Holocaust that has stuck with me the most is Schindlers List.

Wow that's really interesting, I wonder what the colours are... it's so insane how people's minds work so similarly, even if they grow up in completely different cultures! I know, evolution and everything lol but it's still really fascinating. Also don't worry about it! I doubt anyone thinks you're being unfriendly c: We all love you ❤️
Oooh lucky :0 I always cry inside when I see youtube videos about Japan's spring Starbucks flavours. They get sakura latte, I mean ya can't create anything more perfect for me if you tried.
Ohhh okay then c:
Omg lucky! I would love to see China. I'm craving new experiences and not knowing how to do anything in a new country ;x;

That's definitely true. I ate one tiny bite of spicy bullfrog legs and thought my mouth was going to explode. I'm pretty sure I drank 4 or 5 of the little cups of tea and that definitely didn't help much.

It was definitely an amazing trip, and I hope to go back someday. One of my dream goals is to travel the world and to visit all of the countries.

I'm not a linguistics major (Anthropology Psychology double major) but I took several linguistic classes in the Anthropology department. I had no idea linguistics was even a thing that existed until I took a class because I liked the prof. A little linguistics nugget I learned outside of school is that prairie dogs show strong signs of having full blown language. One of the things that bothers me about anth is they're always talking about this thing or that is exclusive to humans and one of the feathers in that hat in language and there are always researchers trying to teach primates one form or another of human language with varying degrees of success and all the while the humble little prairie dog already have their own full blown language. There are a couple of reasons nobody noticed: first no one was really looking and second most of the content of prairie dog language is packed into sounds humans can't hear but when recorded and put into a computer the complexity of their little chirps can be seen. The researchers looking into really needed to show that prairie dogs learn language which means you need to follow specific individuals as the grow which is tricky with a critter with such a high mortality rate (especially the young) but they got a lucky and some of the individuals they tracked made it through their first year and they found that at the end of the first year the young had in fact learned chirps/words/language they didn't know before. Also when the researcher brought recordings from the field to captive born populations in zoos they found that the zoo individuals didn't know the different chirps/words, they just saw them all as a general warning call, where as the wild population have different reactions depending on what the specific chirp/words mean.

Wow that got long, sorry. Also Ale is on its way (;

That is honestly one of the most interesting things I have ever heard! I am totally going to look into this immediately! I guess his idea would almost work from a genetic point of view, but genetic mutations tend to happen very randomly so he could never fully wipe out disability. Now why couldn't they have taught this in history instead?! or Eugenics as part of a genetics module! Such an interesting topic! What are your personal thoughts on it? :D! I haven't seen that movie but I definitely want to, once my partner finishes his exams I'll get him to find it and put it on :D!

Haha yano I kind of figured but I'm not too sure what gave it away ;D! Where do you live if you don't mind me asking :D? You should come see him sometime where he is playing next! if he does theatre he is bound to perform in the grand opera house in Belfast all the time :D! The gif you have of him is very provocative haha! At the college I studied A-levels which i subsequently failed haha! But it's ok because I studied forensic science at a different campus before that and my marks in that got me into university to study biology :D Do you study at all?

hahaha I know right? :')! Such a punishment haha :')! Science fact: one of each females x chromosomes are turned off at birth to make sure we don't get a toxic dose of genes ;D! This process is called x-inactivation and is an epigenetic phenomenon :D and if that came up in my exam I would have been sweet! F you professor of genetics prick!

O______O!!! TO AMAZON IMMEDIATELY!

hahaha!! She must live on antihistamines :')! It must be so sad to be allergic to loads of nice things :(! Are you allergic to anything?? Omg I love the way th orangeness isn't even questioned haha! I am totally gonna ask for american white cheese on them when I go to the place tomorrow with Nana for her 81st birthday :D <3! I love cheese <3! Omg it was freaking awful wasn't it!!!! It literally takes your brain a second to catch on to whats just happened then the floods start! It's almost as bad as the notebook! The first time i seen it I cried hysterically for a good hour! My partner made me buy toilet roll next time we were out because I went through an entire roll for tears haha!

- there is now a category in my shop (Pengy's Offers) called SubeFamily<3, if you would like anything in it just ping me :D! The gigantors are currently priced because I doubt 7 people will want one haha but you guys can have them for free if you want them! I'll add things and swap things every so often so the selection is fresh :D!

I had no idea about the prairie dogs; that is so cool! I worked in a research lab where the PI was also interested in language (mostly humans and other primates), so we talked a good bit about language capacities of different animals, but we never talked about prairie dogs..

I would love the Basic Hematite Flats or the mauvicorn crown please!

Oh! Where do you visit when you go to Japan? Been lucky enough to go this past year so had tons of fun in Tokyo and Osaka (mainly Osaka hahaha cuz my friend lives there)

Colors are just an interesting concept over all. I mean, dogs don't have a wide range of color compared to us. What they see is completely different compared to what we (or maybe I should say I) see. And there's also the vision of people who are colorblind.

Mutations do happen randomly but his idea was that if you sterilize certain people their traits will not be passed down at all, thus decreasing the number of undesirable members of society. Personally I can understand why people would want to create a "superior" race, but with the humanity in me I do think it is an acceptable thing to do, especially considering you want to decrease the gene pool of other races, those with mental or physical disabilities and the lower class. Every living person has the right to live and procreate with who they want to and people should decide for themselves if they want to get sterilized or not because it is a very personal decision. The movie is probably one of the best movies about the Holocaust, it will definitely make you cry with how honest they are about telling the story. Plus it is all based on a true story.

Oh wow!!! I am SO overwhelmed right now with this thread and trying to keep up with who said what! So...I'm just going to babble and whoever wants to can respond lol. Every family needs one of those weird people who sits in the corner and talks to themselves, right? Well, that would be me :D

First, I am so jealous of some of the places you guys live! I've always wanted to travel but can't afford it. My dream vacation would be to spend a month in the British Isles. My mom says it's to get back to my roots lol. Our family came from Ireland, Scotland, Wales, and England.

Second, I'm an English major, history minor and love literature and history. My favorite time period in America is 1850-1890...the Civil War and the Westward Movement. Give me Gone With the Wind type things or Little House on the Prairie and cowboys and I'm a happy person. :D

don't even get me started on standardized testing and the lack of true teaching in schools! I've taught off and on for about 20 years and all ages from 4 year olds to 12th grade high school. It gets worse by the year. I miss 'my kids', but overall I'm glad to be out of it this year...other than dealing with my son starting college.

Thank you , , ! could I ask for the Ontra Paint Kit if no one else has?

I've basically decided that any place that I buy something from and use their restroom, I consider that a country I've been to.. So, technically, I've been to Japan since I stopped there for a few hours on our flight's layover.. I would love to visit for longer than a few hours, but it is so expensive

My aunt lives in Tokyo so in the past, we'd always visit her there until a few years ago when I asked my dad if we could go to other places xD

If you like historical places, I would definitely recommend Kyoto although it can get really humid and hot during the summer! Itsukushima near Hiroshima is really pretty as well! And going to the Hokkaido region during the summer is perfect, since the weather is around 60 degrees Fahrenheit or 15 degree Celsius xD

I'll post some pictures if you want me to if I can figure out how to add pictures that are saved to my comp xD

I actually fell in love with B'z because of this Japanese drama I watched a while back xD I really want to see Arashi live in concert! Although the chances that'll happen is very slim ;-;

hahaha that's a good theory but I haven't even been in a Japanese bathroom! Japan is very very expensive and I don't trust myself there either- I will eventually sell my soul to get the goods and I rather keep my soul for obvious reasons. lol I always say if I ever go to Japan, don't give me a wallet, take it away and hide it under lock and key.
