Hannah kept saying, "Fumos" and making the swirl hand movement while Deme said, "Expellimarus." "That's not iitttt," said Hannah still saying, "Fumos," after a few tries. "Expelliarmus!" said Deme and moving his hand in a small swirl downwards and saw Hannah's wand shoot out from her hand. "Stupefy!" said Hannah, but missed being to slow for Deme's expelliarmus again. "Things are looking up for you," said Hannah to Deme who was Beaming happily.

"You two are doing a great job," she told Hannah and Demeogo ().

"It's interesting how some spells are easier to learn than others and how some people have an easier time learning spells than other people. I've noticed that I have easier time practicing Transfiguration than any other magical subject. Has that happened to you before?," she asked Aderyn () and the others (, ).

Aderyn nodded, listening to Beth's () explanation of how certain types of magic were easier for her. She definitely agreed.

"I think I'm better at defensive spells than offensive spells because of my dad. I've heard so many stories of the witches and wizards he's helped heal after offensive spells have been used on them that I grew up vowing never to hurt anyone, so it makes it hard even in duelling. I'm also a lot better at potions and herbology than anything else, though I'm not too bad at charms, either."

"Thanks, Charms and potions are me best subjects. But I didn't reckon I could do it without speaking!" He shook his head, "Nah, not too good at transfiguration yet, though I can transform meself into a werewolf on every full moon," Magnus said with a laugh, "but that ain't by choice or me own magic."

Beth had never met a werewolf before. She wondered what Magnus' story was. "You must be very powerful to cast a spell non-verbally. I've heard it's a very difficult thing to do. I think you'd make a great Auror some day," she told him () with a smile.

"Do you find yourself having an easier time learning certain spells compared to others?" she asked and Lyn ().

"An auror is me second choice, but I'd rather be a healer. Aderyn told me that there's werewolf 'ealers so if I can, that's what I wanna be." He sensed Beth wanted to ask more so he followed his instinct and said, "Was out wandering at night when I lived in the orphanage. It was near me ninth birthday and I saw a giant wolf. It attacked me and an auror had been followin' it. The werewolf liked to eat children. The auror apperated me to Saint Mungo's. I was told it was rather dicey there for a bit, but they saved me life. I lived there for almost a year. Didn't know what to do with me. They couldn't send me back to me children's home. Then one day a witch an' wizard visited their relation who got bit by a nasty spider and they wound up adopting me."

( ) "Some spells come naturally to me; others I have had years of practice with my dad, but there are plenty that are difficult. The more I know about a spell the better I am at similar ones. For example I am good at protecting spells, sparkles and making light (you know Lumos), changing my hair color, and spells to do with plants because we use them at home all the time." Gaia stopped and laughed "well except my hair changing. That is all me. I think dueling is a good way for us to be comfortable with our abilities and wielding a wand. It teaches us important skills." Gaia nodded agreeing with herself.

"Healer is my first career choice, yes," Aderyn replied. "But I wouldn't mind doing ministry work, either, if it came to that. I suppose that for that I do need to get the hang of these sorts of spells, though!"

Aderyn nodded in agreement with as well.

"I think getting good at these sorts of spells helps our confidence levels, which in turn can help with other types of magic, too."

"Beth, sometimes I have a hard time with spells. My mom says its because we couldn't do it much in the muggle flat we all shared." "Oh please if you wanted to you could have just done it." said Hannah to him. "It's not easy with the laws or do you just forget them Hannah?" asked Demeogo. "Well..I guess, but you could have in the woods when no one was looking. As for me I got it easier because maybe I practiced when I was younger, that might be why or one of my parents genes. I know my cousins have no trouble with spells as well. Their poor cat though, I have seen it in many colors." she giggled telling Beth(.)

"I think you've been doing a great job so far with the spells. I can't tell you haven't had much practice with magic," she told Demeogo.

Beth turned to Hannah and replied, "Their poor cat. I'd be angry if someone did that to me."

() () "I agree. I want to started Dueling club because I think you can it's important to learn how to act in a battle. You never know when these spells will save your life. I don't Harry Potter or his friends ever imagined that we would need to defend their lives as such a young age. They've faced death many times."

Magnus nodded and said, "I know. Yeah it was, I still 'ave nightmares sometimes, but its weird cos I 'ate it and don't wanna be one but I'd never 'ave me mum an' dad if it didn't 'appen. You can ask anything any time. If its somethin' I dont wanna answer, I'll tell ya. Being, a 'ealer would be nice ta give back an' 'elp others."

Aderyn nodded solemnly as she thought of Harry Potter and his friends at Beth's () mention.

"Besides that, it's a great way to meet new friends and boost our confidence in spell casting all together. Extra-curricular activities are all so important. They're a great, fun way to learn!"

"Would anyone like to practice the Disarming Spell or Smokescreen Spell one more time, before we learn our next spell?"

Magnus was more excited to learn more spells than practising. He could find an empty room to practise in if needed so he sat waiting and hoping no one else wanted to practise. He couldn't get enough of learning.

"Expelliarmus!" Beth's wand wobbled feebly in her hand. "I'll get the hang of it, but I should practice the correct movement for that one a bit more on my own."

"Agua-menti!" said Hannah in a s-like movement with her wand. "Protego Maxima" said Demeogo pointing his wand at the sky. Hannah heard a explosion and saw that her spell did not work. She wondered what he used, because she didn't hear it.

"That was a great attempt," Beth applauded.

"Do you know the Water-Making Spell?" she asked Hannah ().

"Nice use of the shield charm!" she commented to Demeogo.
