I was not able to post the text posted above as a post on sbl, either. Didn't work for me. But I can post longer posts. I couldn't find a minimum requirement setting, only a max, which I changed to 0.
And to anyone concerned about the security errors we have been experiencing, there is no need for concern. We never had an SSL certificate but something did change when our hardware was changed, I am working with the host to try and resolve it.
, -- I'll make you a deal. For now, you change the second [items] to [/items], and I'll work on a way from keeping the code from timing out if the tags aren't matched correctly. Okay?
: This place makes getting and installing an SSL certificate super easy (as sysadmin things go). If your host doesn't have a regular method for this, this would be a good start.
lol, I just copy/pasted it!
: Mismatched [items] tags won't cause the page to time out anymore. They won't get parsed, but you'll be able to edit the post and fix it.
(What was happening was that the script was waiting for an [/items] tag to come in which never came -- that's why I originally thought the problem was that the post was so long the script timed out.)
Posted on the SubetaLodge sb, but thought I'd let you know here:
So, I assume it's because of the issues on Subeta, but I just tried to add the new 12 CWs that were approved and it said it added them all but they are definitely not showing up. I tried with logging in, without logging in, with only submitting the initial info query and not checking any of the bottom boxes.
: That's frustrating (for us both), because it worked for me on the first try -- which means I didn't get any feedback or error message that might help explain why it didn't work for you. I'm sorry. If it happens again, tell me the last line of the feedback (something like "12 items were added and 0 were updated in 0.010293006897 seconds".) That might give me something to work with.
Incidentally, there's a new Subeta item called [item2=Slow Roll Scroll] that's not in our database yet. Does anyone know if it's been 'released' yet?
bangs head on desk Typos, have I mentioned I hate typos! Still glad it won't time out anymore. I might have figured out the problem if it had complained instead :P.
The scroll has NOT officially come out yet. It was included in the masquerade items, so I assume a new challenger will be coming out eventually, or at least an old challenger with new item drops.

: The code should have caught that the tags weren't matched correctly -- and now it does, so I appreciate your reporting it.
: Georgie asked me the other day about an interface for editing multiple items on the same page. That's not ready yet -- but I was playing around with different layouts for showing items and came up with this page. It still needs a little tweaking, but what do y'all think? Worth investing any more effort in?
You're suggesting this for a regular user style?
I think they turned off the DDoS blocker which might have made the difference.
I didn't add the scroll because it's void of info on here still.
I'm on my phone and it distorts everything so checking the layout on here is useless for me right now but I'll check when I'm on a computer tomorrow and come give feedback!

Not suggesting yet -- asking if it's worth developing further as a user style.
okay, my words failed me but that is what I meant. lol
While I appreciate the effort I kind of ....strongly dislike it. I am not opposed to working out a way this could be done but this is not it for me :x The first obvious things that bother me:
The colors would need to match each of our layouts. The orange and charcoal don't look great with my pink layout. I haven't tried it with out ones yet but I imagine it will clash with others as well.
This page doesn't show nearly enough items per page which greatly increases the number of pages. Old: 3185 New: 7962
The information for each item is really scrunched. And hard to read. And previews are teensy. And I really like being able to see each item on its own page. But, I know there are merits to having access to all that information without having to open multiple pages.
So yeah, it has possibilities but has a way to go.
Can it be back- burnered though? There are other things I would like to see first, like getting rid of lists that we don't want/need for some pets. But hanks for experimenting!
I feel like I have offended you. I am sorry if I have, :(
I think there are some good ideas in it, but my main problem is the lack of utility.
When I'm searching for info in that format, I'm not generally looking for 1 specific item, I'm looking for several at a time. So, for example, I'm looking up all the Fainting Couches - so I can run shop search/account search on them. With the current setup, I just skip down the results page and open new tabs. With the proposed change, I'd have to go click on each item, then open the search(es), double the work.
Also, I can't copy/paste the item name, so I can't search for it in the wardrobe if I'm using the list to find the name of a specific piece of clothing, which is another way I use that list. Though being able to open tabs would be more convenient for the first part of the search - rather than opening a bunch tabs to the items to find that specific wearable.

, , - I could see that format being useful on the item admin side of things, especially if when you go to edit an item, you don't have to reload the page for each item that you edit. It would be great for editing a new line of Delish items, for example, or editing all of the EPICon 2010 items that now cost a different amount and restock in a new place. Pretty much anything with the same item note is what it would be useful for, I think :)
