Okay so the host is doing emergency maintenance that can take up to 60 minutes.

Yeah - it definitely might have been an extra issue on their end for the last few weeks. I think it was down longer (it was gone for my friend for about 3 hours by the time she was able to notify me) but I'm glad they got it back up sooner than the time-frame you saw for sure.

Oh yeah for sure. I was only counting repair time. I have no idea how long it was down before then.

Either way, it seems like it was during a time where thankfully not a lot of folks were trying to access and getting frustrated and I'm glad we were able to find out about it.

: Gah. I've figured out what's happening, but can't figure out why it's happening unless it's another unannounced change on Subeta's end.

What's going on: used to be that when you requested a price for an item number that didn't exist (for example, there's no item ), Subeta would return the information for the next item number that did exist, so that the only time when you got a blank response from Subeta was when you had gotten to the very last item number and it was time to start over.

Now, Subeta's giving a blank response for any item number that doesn't exist (and so our cron was thinking it was time to start over at item before it finished going through the items.)

I think I've got a solution, but it'll have to run for a few hours to get caught up on all the items again. I'll check it again tomorrow to see if it got to the end without any hiccups.

On another note: I've been looking into what's causing the speed bottleneck on Subeta. It's the sidebar widget that shows people's collection status. It's updating on every page load (so, for example, if you add an item to a collection and then refresh the page, then your sidebar widget is up to date), but querying every item in every collection the user has and getting totals for each of them.

After exams are all over, I'll put some time into having it update more intelligently, and that should speed things up a bit.

The cron's gone completely through all the items without my having to manually reset it, so I think we're good until Subeta changes things again.

Well, the number of items keeps going up, and over the past couple of years we've added extra demands on the database (price history, personal item notes) that weren't there before, and we're finally outgrowing the hosting plan we're currently on.

That is good news. THe one sure thing about subeta; if something is running well, they are going to touch it.

That makes perfect sense. I guess we need to talk about that.

I am sure there is a way that I am just not seeing but...how do you edit the mel's cottage page once something has been submitted? I out 800 for the sp today and it should be 900

: If you go to the top of the page and enter the items and sP again, the new information overwrites the old information. You can do this for a previous day in the month by typing over the date and re-entering the information for that date.

So, I tried to be helpful and add the new CWs that approved late last night. The items are technically there, but I'm still having that problem where SubetaLodge is only grabbing the text information and not the image information. I'm in the process of manually entering all of that in, but it could take a while, just as a heads up.

11:19 am - Everything is now updated with all images added. I think I'm going to save the wearables for and in the future. 😆
