Hey, I have a question for anyone who cares to respond. Where are the looters? This has got to be the first time in history when people just...went home and stayed there. Oh, I know there are people out and about but still. Where are the people tearing through the stores? Any other time people would be getting themselves some big screen TVs and ipads and whatever. Where are the looters?

TBH, I think all the bad guys are staying home better than the rich yuppies. They had 2000 people protesting the beach closure in my city yesterday and I just...do not understand. The arrogance and clear lack of empathy for others is disheartening.

I guess you're right, can't think of any other explanation. But since when do they listen to authority?

No joke - I'm really tired of the folks protesting in my town - a huge chunk of which aren't even from here. Why can't we enjoy the beach for running/jogging/surfing you ask? Because these people won't listen and stay away or stay apart. We were open until everyone disobeyed the state mandates, so they only have themselves to blame for it being taken away.

I still do appreciate the use of the pokey spring bed, the availability of it. And Jim .. man, I thought he was going to lose it trying to put this one together! It took hours. Well, he had to keep walking away from it. I felt so bad for him.

Nothing has really changed here. He is still working, thank goodness. The only difference is he comes home and tells stories about people getting to close to him. ....and a story about one of his guys that dropped his phone in a port-a-potty hole and reached in to recover it. He was sent home for the rest of the week. Other than that, you know, hard to get some things from the store but hey, who can afford the price of meat these days anyway?

How about you? Are you done teaching for the term? And did you hear about your grant?!?!?! How is the rest of your fam dealing?

Done teaching, but exams start tomorrow, so I still have some grading left. We'll hear about the grant on Friday.

Brett's doing well. Mom's dealing with an eye infection, but all things considered it could be much worse.

I'm back. Annoyed and frustrated, but back and still using my old dying laptop.

Trying to get the new computer working was a hassle. Kept being one thing after another. Kept managing to keep fixing one thing after another. LOL wasted 3 days on a stupid issue that turned out to be a thing that ended up being fixed in thee minutes after talking to our ISP (which I suggesting doing on the first day, but he insisted we didn't need to do that). Fixed more stuff. Downloaded stuff, updated stuff, transferred files. Finally everything was ready. Tried to start FF, got a useless, uninformative error message. Tried to start a different program, got the same useless message. Nothing works. Grrrrrr.

Set the laptop up again, get it working, though I don't trust it and expect it to fail any second. He's going to keep trying to work on the new computer, while I've reset up the laptop with all the things I didn't want to do. But I'm tired of this. Its still not working right, I don't have it set up the way I want, but its mostly working.
