Just a reminder don't forget your quests! I wanna see what items they give us if any. I didn't make it through all my quests last night and I was super sad about it.
Token shop!
I got through most of mine, but guests arrived and that ended that...lol. I was so happy to see we'd made it when I got on this morning :) I have a busy day of prepping and cooking - and they all want to go to the mall...think I'm going to skip that, I just have way too much to do!!
Hope everyone is have a great extended weekend here in the states and those not, happy Monday ;)
Ok, off and running!!
Life is better when you're laughing <3
I'm glad too since I didn't get any done yesterday LOL Happy 4th to our American friends :)
I did quite a few quests on the first and second days, but haven't had a chance after that. Thanks to those who picked up the slack!
Happy 4th everyone :D
We had our first beach day yesterday. Luckily we didn't hit any traffic, but parking was horrible. We had to walk nearly a mile from our car, bogged down with chairs, a cooler, boogie boards, blanket, towels, umbrella, etc. But, we were lucky to get a spot at all! We did have a great time but I'm sore from carrying all that stuff today. Also, too much sun - ouch.
We're going to a BBQ/pool party today, but will try to stay out of the sun as much as possible.
Happy 4th to everyone! :)
We got back home on Friday and then went straight into a family reunion. It was the first time in 24 years that we've all been back together. It's fun to hear the stories of how well connected the Italian side of my family was in Chicago and the Pittsburgh area about a hundred years ago!
That sounds awesome Jeff. That's a long time since everyone was together.
Happy Fourth of July to my American Friends.
Jeff that sounds really neat.
I didn't do much with the questing. Been busy and missed two days and was only able to do a few.
Mina, I see the Arkansas and Texas part of that family every year but that's maybe 1/5 of the family. My grandfather had 3 brothers and 4 sisters. Most of the rest are in Chicago, Minneapolis and a few still in PA. My grandfather is 96 and his brother is 91. The rest that are living are much younger, probably in their 70s. One of my cousins has traced all of the genealogy back to the early 1700's and had a 15 foot long family tree laid out. That was awesome!
Sounds like y'all have been doing some fun adventures. I like family reunions when I get to learn the history of the family. It's raining and yucky here so I'm envious of pool beach time. I did most of my quests. The only day I didn't finish was Saturday and that was because time just ran away from me. We are cooking ribs in the crock pot today since weather is gross and I can smell them. I'm like get done already!
We've been having fun over the past few days. Thursday we went to the east coast and visited a place called Coolidge Reservation. It's a coastal trail that takes you through a wooded area, past a pond and down to the sea shore. It was pretty cool. Then we went to Plum Island and walked along that beach, then drove down to some trails that took us through the salt marshes and dunes. We saw all sorts of birds! Yesterday we hiked up Mount Watatic with a group of hubby's coworkers. It was a perfect day and tons of fun. One of them brought their drone and flew it all around the peak. That was cool and the footage was pretty amazing! After we went back to Purgatory falls to trek to the upper falls. We were there in April but ran out of time before we could get to the upper falls, so this was a revisit. The water levels were way down though, so it wasn't very spectacular like it would've been 3 months ago. Oh well. We'll try again next spring. Today we went to Mount Tom Reservation. It was a really nice place with tons of hiking trails and a nice drive to some scenic views. We hiked to 2 peaks and enjoyed exploring some old ruins of a hotel and housing area that burned down over 100 years ago. All in all, we probably hiked/walked nearly 12 miles and a few thousand calories were burned over our excursions LOL. Not too shabby :)
Sounds like you were busy busy , but in the fun kind of way and not the 'I don't want to do this' kind of way :)
A 15 ft family tree, now that would be pretty neat to see! My cousin has traced his back pretty far - only half his tree is the same as mine, but it's still really cool to see our family history. His tree is no where near 15 ft long though! Sounds really cool!!
It was a semi busy weekend around here. Got the grass all mowed on Sunday - good thing too because it poured most of the day yesterday which of course means it'll need to be mowed again before the end of the week - hopefully I can push it off to the weekend without it looking too terrible - though at the moment the outer edge of two sides of my property look like you could take a nice swim in them, as well as the two swales (ditches), and my pool is about to over flow again... I love the rain, but in moderation. Yesterday the storm just sat above us for hours and hours, it was just this little blip on the radar but oh boy did it produce the rain!!
Need to get moving on getting floors done today, all the in and out this weekend and you can't even tell I've touched them! Between dogs and kids...it's a hot mess!
Have a wonderful day everyone!! <3

That's really interesting Jeff. I'm close with my mother's side of the family; she only had one sister and we are close with my cousins from there. But she had about 9 aunts and uncles, and many cousins from there, and I know a handful of them pretty well. We can trace that side back to their trip to Ellis Island from Czechoslovakia, but that's about it.
My dad's side I don't know as well. He's one of eight, and they live in Ohio, West Virginia, Virginia, California, Alabama and Chicago. I've met all but a few of my oldest cousins, but we don't get to see many of the others too often.
Hey all, haven't posted much but need to share this :)
YAY I've been waiting for this as my 1 wk GA just ran out

Can't believe I've been playing Subeta for this long, at times I've been pushed away but never left.
I need a GA so will use my LB later to get the 3mth GA, my 2nd option would have been the pet slot as I'm close to 25 pets
Thank you [Kiss=smilesnz] [Dance=smilesnz] [Flower=smilesnz]
10 years! WTG :) I'm getting close (9 years, 6 months, 1 week, 3 days). It really doesn't seem like it's been that long!!
Our company was a complete disaster. Ever had someone literally use you for a free place to stay while claiming they want to spend time with you, yet doing everything they know you can't do... Ugh - never again! I hurt my back last week and was really hoping it would be better by the time they arrived, it wasn't so I really had to take it easy so as to not completely throw out my back and not be able to walk - bottom line, no major shopping trips or long amounts of time in the car...and all they wanted to do was go shopping - the mall one day and random stores the next - and they're all stores they have over on their side of the state so it really made no damn sense at all. My cousin even gave me a lecture, or attempted to, about how they came all this way to spend time with me and I can't even go shopping with them...I'm like wtf if you want to spend time with me then stay here and hang out - his answer none of them swim in pools...again WTF. And their kid, OMG, he's about the same age as my grandson only he still baby talks, isn't potty trained, and still has a pacifier - and he runs around screaming at the top of his lungs and they laugh like it's funny...ugh. He was scared of the dogs even though they didn't do anything - he's just generally afraid of dogs apparently, but he would pet Mauser then out of the blue slap her across the face, I had to tell them not to allow him to do that because it wasn't funny and shouldn't be laughed at, Mauser has no idea what she did to deserve it and he may do it a hundred times with no issue but the 101st she may scratch (slap him back) or bite and that wouldn't be good because it wouldn't be her fault. Glad they left, even if it was without a thank you, and next time they self invite and tell me they're coming for a visit the answer is going to be we're busy because I don't need a repeat thank you very much!

Zab sorry to hear about your bad company. They should have been more understanding if you can't do things.
Though I don't know how old you might have said your grandson is. If the kid should be old enough to be potty trained and stuff it sounds like hes not getting any decent parenting done. He might not react well when hes expected to grow up. Its good thing you stood up for your pet. Definitely shouldn't be allowed and of course it wouldn't be Mauser's fault.
My grandson will be 4 at the end of August, there's turns 4 in February - so they're really not that far apart. By the time Silas was 2 1/2 he was potty trained and didn't have his pacifier anymore, it's just lazy to have an almost 4 year old still in diapers and sucking on a pacifier all day long! And to find it funny when he's running around inside screaming his head off was just too much! We never let our kids behave like that anywhere, it's just bad manners. I understand that kids will occasionally act up/out but this appeared to be normal and acceptable behavior for him that they were completely fine with. Lazy parenting at its worst in my opinion!

Congrats ! 10 years is quite the milestone :)
Sorry about the bad company. That's one way to spoil a lovely holiday weekend! I'm shocked that he's 4 and isn't fully potty trained or off the pacifier. By the time I was 2 1/2 when I could ask for the pacifier my mom basically said, "well, if you can ask me politely for it, then you don't need it anymore!" I can't handle small screaming children, so I'm sure that was none too pleasant as well. It's a shame that they let him behave like such a brat! Poor Mauser :(
What a shame that they spent the entire trip shopping. They may not swim, but they can still sit and chat. Glad your weekend is over though. Hope your back feels better soon!
Congrats ! I will be hitting 11 years in August :o
And that sucks . We have a few 4-year-olds among my friends and family, so I'm pretty familiar with that age at the moment. I know one was late for potty training, but eventually he grew out of the diapers, so they had no choice. He was pretty normal otherwise - just didn't want to potty (he was 4 in February and I think was finally potty trained right before).
Anyway, I wanted to post here that I said goodbye to my cat Mina today. She was 19. She's had a great life, but had a tough past few months and we felt like it was time. I feel horrible because I'm sure we could've done more for her, but her quality of life really declined really fast. RIP Mina - I'm going to miss you so much. :( (my Neo account/nickname namesake ;))
Edit: Not sure if everyone can see it, but here is a photo of her from about a year ago.
I'm SO sorry for your loss. Pets are family and losing them is incredibly hard. Once quality of life has gone down, the best option for them is often the hardest option for us. <3 Sending love your way.
I'm shocked at the age of the kid. He will definitely have problems later on. Especially with the concept of potty training. Forgot to mention that I can't handle a lot of kid screaming.
[edit]Had to fix the typo from can to can't.
so sorry to hear of your loss. Its hard to let go.
