Actually, hun, many of the teams in WS do that for themselves and elect captains and co-captains. Other teams clearly decline that option. It's not that it isn't a good idea. It sure can be, but it's not something I'd put in place as official. An awful lot in these adventures depends on team dynamics, and that's as individual as the teams are.
You can always ask.
If this was the only point opportunity, I wouldn't have done it, but there are more, and evening the playing field came out as the best choice to me. Scoring is a bit different this time as well, and I'll explain that when the time comes. But you're right; it wasn't an easy call to make. :D
: I was confused about the whole goal and purpose of this part of the episode. I am still under the impression that we were supposed to have made some judgement of the evidence and made some kind of proclamation to you about what we wanted to do with the clues before last night's deadline. Am I to understand that the goal and deadline were for clue-swapping only?
I must also mirror the others by complimenting you on providing us with such a fun activity. You are so imaginative, clever and hard-working. These events take a tremendous amount of energy and time and I am grateful for all the work you put into it. Thank you for all it is that you do.
Thank you so much for the good thoughts! It keeps me going! :D
Yes, it was just a clue swapping deadline. Right now, you should be armed with enough evidence to lead you to great questions for the suspects.
You are making the judgements among your team, but you don't share yet. The will be a "Poirot" worthy tell-all meeting where each team will explain their solution. But that's the end of the adventure.
I really do like the clue-sharing idea and can't wait to see how you implement it in WS!
LOL!!! I think someone has been playing way too much Clue! XD looks fondly upon the newest development XD

and as always I don't envy you the dilemma! I didn't mean your decision to return the points though, I meant now that some teams are asking for the rest of the clues, do you even up the playing field by giving everyone all of the clues (since they would have bought them all had they known they were getting back their points) or do you reward those who risked their points by leaving the clues as is. Before the point return, we either bought clues, risking a point advantage to gain strategic advantage, or saved points, losing strategic advantage to stay in the lead in points. Now that the points are all even if you bought clues, your gumption is rewarded by having even points and extra clues. If you didn't buy clues, playing it safe ended up being a stagnant play, no new info and no lead in points.
With the logic problem solved, you are now at the halfway point in the mystery.
Here's the scenario for the rest:
When you finish, the Inspector will allow you access to the guests, who are, in alphabetical order:
Bacina Eichhorn Layana Sibrica Tamias Utah Woodrow
Sibrica has retuned to Mr. Marmota's bedside and Tamias to his shed. The others have gone to their rooms or guestrooms.
You could also return to the crime scene, if you believe you may have missed something, or tour the grounds.
You may ask each of the guests three and only three questions, which you should smail to me all in one post.
EACH suspect or location you choose to visit will cost you 100 points. Choose wisely or go for broke.
After this you will return to the Inspector, who will add to your information by presenting to you the deputy's report. This is free for all teams.
To conclude, you must dress as though your detective characters are making a presentation for all involved. More details on this contest forthcoming. Yes, you will be given points if your HA is among those singled out by the judges.
As the finale, each team will present the most complete summation of the mystery, including the relationships that preceded the murder. More details on this will also be forthcoming, but you must smail your solution to me, and I will post each team's solution on the board. You must RP this solution and each team member must take part.
Your score at the end will be composed of:
Since nothing is shared outside your team, there are no "do overs" or "balancing." It is what it is.
NO hints will be given on the solution of the mystery itself. By the time you reach the point to submit, you should have more than enough information to solve this. :D
Will we be given a visual description of each suspect we see? And if we talk to Sibrica, can we talk to Mr. Marmota as well?
The way some people spell makes me wonder about their pronunciation. My CW shop, and my ping group
I can give a description, yes. Mr. Marmota is in a medically induced coma, so it's doubtful he'll respond.
True that mr. Marmota wouldn't be responding from the comatose state. I wonder how long he's been in that medically induced coma and why. Poor fellow.

I really really extremely want:I know our puzzle solution is due by midnight tonight but when is the other stuff due? I didn't see a deadline date or time.

All solutions for the Inspector's trial mystery have been given to the judges and we should have the results tomorrow. Please start sending in your list of what you want to investigate or suspects you want to question. Due to a couple of requests about servants, detectives, staff, etc., you may also add "the Maid" to your listed of people to question. Any question about police evidence will be answered in the deputy's final report, which ALL of you will receive, so you do not need to question the Inspector.
Please be aware that some information may be more valuable than others, but it is possible to do everything if you spend all your points.
In summary you have:
Slots 1-5: The suspects with dossiers Slot 6: The Maid (represents whole house staff) Slot 7: Outside the manor (includes Tamias' "shack" but without Tamias there.) Slot 8: Bacina Slot 9: Woodrow Slot 10: The crime scene again (in case you missed something.)
Mr. Marmota suffered a heart attack from the stress of Caudata's murder. He is under 24 hour nurse care and is in a coma. He is expected to make a full recovery if not disturbed too much. He DID NOT murder his own daughter, or have any part in it.
As to the timelines MsBehavin asked about, that is not set in stone to the event end, as I'm not sure how long you will need for your questioning lists and decisions. Let's tentatively set that deadline for January 25th at 11:59 Subeta time (with the understanding there could be a day or two extension, but only if needed.)
After that it will be the sharing of the final police reports and extra materials, which will be in posts on the RP thread, the "detective evening dress" HA contest, and then your submitted RP solutions.
Except for awarding prizes, I'm looking for a conclusion by early February before Survival kicks in. crosses fingers
Judges? Wait, what? O.o What is there to judge with that side case?
The way some people spell makes me wonder about their pronunciation. My CW shop, and my ping group
Quite a few things, since it was deliberately ambiguous in a few places, and required inference. There were solutions, and then the "best/correct" solution, and even partial solutions.
In other words, it was much like Caudata's murder. :D
Being a detective is hard work, much like space travel.
Traveling through hyperspace ain't like dusting crops, boy!
CRUD! I just sent the answer of who, nothing else, since that's all that was asked for! flail
And yes, very ambiguous. @.@

As in dress formally? OR shall we be dressed in attire that allows us to sneak about unnoticed?
π»[tot=msbehavin] π»
You're ahead of yourself here, since that's after the questioning, but it does mean dress "formally," or what you think your detective would wear to reveal the case to his audience. Poirot was dressed to the nines; Columbo had a trenchcoat--it varies.
More details when it actually happens.
Yep, that was all that was asked for, but it would have been good to have included something of a breakdown. Also, the suspect needed to be the correct one.
