EDIT: It is my understanding that we were allowed to "buy" one clue from each team after we got our free clue and our original 3. It is also my understanding that we are allowed to "sell" the same clue over and over if we choose so long as we do not give/sell more than one clue to each opposing team. If I am understanding all of this correctly, since I put our request out there prior to the midnight deadline, we should still be allowed to "buy" the purse clue....please help

Ok well then I am confused because another team was buying as many clues as they needed. All you had to do was use some of your 250 points. And as much as you wanted. So some could spend 200 points to get all the clues, or 100 to get two more. All this is AFTER the free one. I thought it was one from EACH team if we wanted. So I could have 6 clues.

But it sounds like you guys might think its one free, one from anyone we want, and our original three. Meaning ONLY five total. And that you cant give the clue more than once if other teams need it.

People are also confused if they give their points to the team they buy from, or if it goes to rowan. I feel like it should have been easy enough. But with everyone doing it different ways Im just jumbled up and have no idea. When Rox and I were chatting I was pretty sure of what we needed.

Plus its past the deadline. You had to have your teams final points/what you got tallied up by midnight which its 15 past now.

Wow! This thread has gone even nuttier than Nutsy, and that's okay. Let me deal with all of this in Q&A form.

1. Let's extend the deadline one day, since so many folks haven't been able to contact other teams.
2. Because of this, you may buy two clues from me if you need to do so. Yes, only two. Here's the deal. While it is true that detectives would get to examine everything, not everyone would do so, AND detectives do miss things.
3. Your team does NOT have to have all the clues to solve the mystery correctly.
4. I'm deliberately vague if you're "fishing." (If you want a response from me, give me the exact information you have deduced, and you might be surprised by the nice reply you get. (For example: For example, on a bookcase with a code, don't tell me you found a cufflink box, and ask if that doesn't that work with the bookcase. I'm not going to tell you since that's too vague. But if you say: there's a false bottom in the cufflinks, we got the 6839 and used it on the bookcase.
5. Points you give the other team vanish. You only have ONE free trade. You may or may not make a trade with a team that wants to trade with you. You may trade your clues to more than one team, but no one can get two clues from the same team.
6. An example RP on the OOC (which is what Laurie is doing to help show how it's done)is actually very helpful, and there isn't a rule about no RP on the OOC, just the other way round, although it is helpful to keep them separate. (And have you ever seen our darling Write really come down on anyone? I haven't, and she waded through all of the "oopsies" and board clutter during WS2. She's endlessly patient. I just want to consider her hard work and respect her efforts. :D)

I think I got all your questions. Right now, feedback on team sharing is ranging among "this is a cool idea" to "once the kinks are worked out, it'll go well," to "I HATE this." Okay, keep feedback coming. Remember, I always take your feedback and suggestions to heart and make adjustments accordingly.

So I can buy from more than one team, or just buy it from you if thats easier? And I love that we can rp on the ooc, I was worried itd make it harder to understand with all our questions mixed in, but I guess its the opposite! Will do it next time for sure. I sent a reply to Laurie with my feedback on it.

I love this idea and think once the kinks are worked out itll be a great new addition to ws! Having that way to work with other teams makes it so much fun.

Engulfed in examining the handbag in front of her, hearing her name mentioned gave Laurie such a start her fingers almost snapped the days third trusty No.2 in half at the sound. She's back already? What time is it? she wondered to herself, already on her feet in preparation for that first yank from a certain overzealous cub who seemed to almost manifest on cue, grabbing and tugging at her hand. Hope's dark eyes danced with excitement, anxious to go tell Ms. Rowan all about the fun she had playing delivery bear.

"Alright, alright, I'm coming!" Knowing that trying to get her hand back was futile she did the next best thing, which would be to allow herself to be drug through the other sleuths in the room while murmuring excuse me with every breath on her cub-panions behalf.

This experiment was crazy, you should have seen it! The only thing I wish I had done that might have helped things go smoother - figuring out an alternative for free clue swaping before you were unavailable for comment. If I had done that, I think it would have been a home run. Once the bartering began in earnest I realized that your list was several pages back so I threw another one together and they didn't notice I was gone. The team members kept it going on their own, minimal drama, mild frustration but no one threatened anyone with bodly harm that I saw.

Even being left to fend for themselves about the "free clue" confusion it seemed to me that the teams worked it out amoungst themselves for the most part - or gave up, one of the two. Might be where a few of those 'I HATE this" comments came from, yah?

The only drawback I can see from this impromptu test is this is a fair sized group but it'll be re-sized into the small category compared to the amount of protectors that will show up when the Wayward Squirrel appears on the horizon. Still I gotta say, all-in-all this wasn't half bad.
