I guess someone thought it was bad that Quentin was giving out 5 amulets, so they "fixed" it so that won't happen now.

yeah I am not impressed. it is not like every single amulet turns into a tome. it is just the resellers that are complaining...but then I am not 100% of that, since I didn't read the whole thread. I am just not happy about it.

No amulets today... now Quentin is just a big rip off and not even worth doing their quests anymore.

I haven't seen him since you need a capped pet to unlock him :P

It doesn't matter how many icons he does, it matters how much for each icon type (which the only way to figure out is to do the math based on the icons)

So lets say a challenger does 100 earth icons per turn and 100 magma icons per turn, and had 10000 STR.

You then run those numbers through the damage formula (Damge=icons x sqrt(STR)/4.2) He would be doing 2381 earth damage, and 2381 magma damage for a total of 4762 damage.

If you used Ostaff + Bstaff against the opponent, and you had 10000 DEF, you run those numbers through the defense formula (Defense=icons x sqrt(DEF)/4) So it works out that you are attempting to block 2500 Earth, and 2500 Magma, but you waste some of that potential defense because he is only dealing a 2381 of each.

To breakthrough your defensive icons, it would need to deal more than 2500 of each icon you are defending with (in this scenario). If the opponent isn't breaking through your defensive weapons, then you are wasting stats on defense, and you would be more efficient training STR for slightly faster battles.

I was just saying that I'm not sure how many opponents actually reach that damage threshold to justify a 10000 DEF build pet. If they were to release some weapons that had significant Icon advantages over a god weapon, but with say 50 defensive icons, that could potentially justify using a higher defense build as well. But that is pretty speculative, since a weapon like that should probably be considered a god weapon even with a 50 Icon defense if it has a high enough damage advantage.

Well, it seems whatever fortune I once enjoyed with Quentin's quests as of late has faded again. What a rip off, only 1 stupid amulet when I was expecting five. I'm seriously pissed that resellers found it enough of an inconvenience to actually complain about the wealth of amulets being distributed. Getting a measly one amulet is much worse than getting 5 amulets a day! Gahhh, I want to shove something right about now, just reading all those complaints in that thread!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks a lot complainers!!! Maybe having a chance at 2-3 a day would be easier on the economy, but seriously what do people expect, really? If amulet are being given out at this rate again, they will climb back up in price to about 750k, which may be great for resellers but not so great for battlers. And once they do climb in price again, then the resellers will find a new reason to complain because the prices will be so high that they won't be selling as easily anymore.

Good thing those stupid little stone challengers are still around for a bit, because I'm needing something to beat up after reading that thread! Maybe doing BQs will help release a little steam!!

What price are tomes actually selling at BTW?

I bought a ton of cheap amulets yesterday and gambled them into about 60 Tomes, but none of them ended up selling for 2.4mil over the last 24 hours.

Just bought me some amulets before price jumps.

Looks like the going price is around 2.3 to 2.4 mil per tome, judging by the SS. But I seriously doubt that any of them are selling at that price, considering the recent influx of amulets! I imagine it will take awhile before people actually start buying them again.

I try not to buy tomes. I give my amulets to the Mage and hope for the best.

saw a swashbuckle in shops for 70 mil. snapped it up, couldn't help myself. how does that price compare to doing item hunt for myself? i'm not familiar with the higher levels of that game because i always quit when it stops being profitable.

Before Item Hunt became easier, I think it would cost severl hunderd million SP to complete the last few levels. Now, I'm not sure. I think people are getting lucky and it asks for stuff below 100k sometimes.

I managed to snatch the Sawed Off Double Barrel Shotgun with Machete from the Token Shop. It's a tier 5 weapon, and in the inventory it shows the following stats: Damange: 9-15 or 9-15 or 23 Physical icons, 3 fire icons, 7 dark icons And two mod slots.

I tested it a few turns, and this does seem to be what it does most of the time. I didn't notice any freezing, blessings, curses or stealing/blasting. It does have a second attack: "You fire off both rounds and then slash at close range!" Then it does 20 physical damage, 10 dark damage, 5 fire damage and it defends 12 physical.

Turning in 40 amulets since I figured I'd better get some before the inevitable jump. Wish me luck crosses fingers and closes eyes

Well that is ok, their little tantrum will bite them in the ass later, when we, us battlers, will not be buying them. In the long run, they are going to be sitting on those amulets. Because now, I am going to refuse to buy any. (not like I ever did before)
