"How comes you haven't been back there, if you don't mind me asking that is?"

"Oh," Tanya scrunched her nose, still smiling. She should've realized he'd ask, but she wasn't big on thinking ahead. "I've got no one there now, really. Everything from back then is like a dream now, and I know it's a bit silly, but I feel like if I go back it'd be like painting over all of that. I guess the St. Petersburg I miss is my St. Petersburg, which can't exist since, well, things change." She was sort of babbling, green eyes locked enthusiastically on her petit companion.

If she was going to explain more strictly, it would have to do with having died, or nearly died, from Carbon Monoxide poisoning, only to wake up again to find that she was a vila. Or, maybe she always had been a vila. There was enough about the situation that she had decided not to question, choosing instead to be grateful for the time she was being given.

"I actually haven't met them either. I got a little..well, nervous.."

Tanya was slightly taken aback at having made Shasta embarrassed with her question. She felt briefly guilty, though of course she hadn't meant to embarrass him, but she also found something endearing in the way he looked down at the grass that made her smile more warmly.

"Yeah, it's kind of weird living with strangers, huh?" she said. Which was possibly an unhelpful thing to add, but she'd been trying to sound sympathetic so he was less shy. "I mean," she added, "I hope whoever mine are they're as nice at you." Which maybe sounded a bit desperate. Tanya pressed her lips together, suddenly self-conscious.

OOC: I'm very sorry for your loss, no rush for a reply dear, I'll be here when you're ready!

OOC: Thank you for your condolences hun, I apologise again for my absence but I should be around for a while this time, fingers crossed! Apologies if my post isn't that great, I'm a little out of practice. And welcome to the roleplay! If you need someone to roleplay with I can bring in my other character :3

BIC: "Ah Toulouse, I visited there once on a trip back in my earlier years, beautiful place Toulouse." Damian grinned back at the other in a light hearted fashion, before turning his attention back to his belongings. Kind of pitiful if he did say so himself, he only had with him the bare minimals: toothpaste, toothbrush, hairbrush and a few pieces of clothing. The sooner his parents bought him the rest of his items the better.

"Indeed I am. I'm from the sunny state of California, Santa Monica to be exact." He grimaced slightly as he remembered some of the trouble he'd gotten into back at one of the many schools he'd attended back in his home town but that quickly faded from his face. "So, what brings you to this school huh?" He asked as he lay down his bed, hands behind his head and one leg over the other.

OOC: Got a notification saying I was mentioned and I can't seem to find it XD oh well guess I'm jumping into this!

Vicente smiled warmly, if briefly, at Damien's enthusiastic reply. "I suppose it is," he agreed mildly. Certainly, he loved Toulouse, but it was not without its faults. The police always seemed a bit on edge, though maybe that was because of the French enthusiasm for protesting. He would miss Toulouse, but North America seemed like a good change of pace, and at the very least it would justify the years of English language schooling he'd been subjected to.

Vicente had absolutely no idea what Santa Monica was like, so he just smiled politely. He noticed the other boy flash a grimace, and wondered if maybe Santa Monica was a rough place to grow up, or perhaps the other kid was already homesick.

"So, what brings you to this school huh?"

While the other boy seemed to be about finished unpacking, Vicente still had much of his wardrobe to get through, not to mention the handful of books he'd brought with him. So he continued to sort things, not looking up at he chatted politely with the other boy.

"Well, the same thing as everyone, I guess. I 'ad been happily living life in Toulouse as a nix--a, a sort of water-nymph, I suppose," he paused to explain, unsure if the other student had heard of his race, and deciding to err on the safe side. "But I 'ad an accident, where I ought to 've drowned, but of course I didn't, and it brought some suspicion. So, it was decided I would study here."

Maybe it was more than Damien was looking for, but he felt like if he answered in full now he would have to answer less questions later. He expected his roommate to explain his own circumstances as well, but he didn't press him.

Ooc: Just letting you guys know I'll be in Florida for two weeks starting tomorrow so I probably won't be around much ;w; I'm sorry I haven't replied to you already Lemon, I've been busy getting ready for uni and my holiday, I'll reply asap! Elizabeth totally felt her face light up after Kaien said that. Her face was turning a slight shade of red but she was smiling so much, she thought it would be covered up.

Does he mean this year or just today? she briefly wondered, her smiling faltering a little bit at that thought.

"I would appreciate the company you would give us Kaien!" she said happily.

Kaida studied that smirk on his face, slightly enjoying that he seemed at least somewhat amused by the little dragon. He seemed reserved, but that only made Kaida all too excited to wiggle her way under his skin and possibly become good friends with him. She shoved her hands into her pockets, rocking back and forth on her heels and smiling as he spoke.

"Yes, well, I know only stories really, my parents and elder brothers think very highly of elves and I was raised to as well." Still, she couldn't place her finger on where she may have seen him, or perhaps heard the name. It would bother her until she knew.

She glanced over at Elizabeth, then to Kaien, smiling gently and feeling herself relax more, wings visibly dropping as she noticed the blush on the other females face. She was all too familiar with the feeling of being flustered. The little dragon made a small, cute noise of amusement, slightly happy that she wasn't the only one who felt so flustered speaking with people.

But perhaps it was only males. She had no trouble- not really anyway- speaking with females. Boys were different- she grew up with brothers but never understood them. "It'd.. It'd be really great to...well, you know, be in your company." She rubbed the back of her neck and grinned sheepishly. "So you know this campus hmmmm? Maybe we can all go on an adventure after Elizabeth is all settled in!"

Ooc: I am back now guys, sorry it's been a huge rush of getting back from holiday and preparing for university xD and I'm gonna apologise for my posts, I have writer's block rn ;w;

Bic: Shasta looked back up at Tanya and smiled, his eyes sparkling with inquisitiveness, as he listened attentively to every word she was saying, keen to learn as much about his new friend as he could. His smile dropped a little as she explained that the St. Petersburg she'd known no longer existed, he too felt this way about his native village. It was a rather sad thought, one that he'd rather not dwell on, though he thought it best to offer Tanya some comfort so he said, "I get what you mean, things are always changing and while we might not like it, there's not much we can do.. At least we still have our memories from the past though, right?" It didn't sound as comforting as he'd hoped but offering people comfort had never been one of his strong points.

"I mean, I hope whoever mine are they're as nice at you."

His face lit up at her words. He'd been worried about actually making friends here due to his shy nature but to hear this was so reassuring to him. "Likewise. I'm glad I met you Tanya!" He grinned at her. "Oh I just realised I never asked you this but what dorm are you in?"

[-viola] Kaien couldn't help but notice both of his companions faces turning red as they spoke to him. He wondered why but then just supposed it was due to the fact that were both new students. He remembered his first day at this school, it had been rough, but then what first days of school weren't?

The pair both seemed glad to have Kaien around and for that he was grateful. He'd heard "horror" stories about second years who'd had to show first years around who couldn't care less about the school and its senior students and were just rude or ran off whenever they saw an opportunity. He smiled at them both and nodded in appreciation.

"Maybe we can all go on an adventure after Elizabeth is all settled in!"

"Yes that sounds like a good idea! I know a fair bit about this campus so if you have any questions that you're dying to ask, don't hesitate to ask them! Elizabeth your room is this next one on the left."

Kaida beamed when Kaien agreed to a little adventure after introducing Elizabeth to her room and allowing her to settle in. Unfortunately, Kaida really didn't unpack much, her bag was simply thrown onto her bed and long forgotten about, but she would unpack when the trio parted. Honestly, she wanted to spend more time around Kaien and Elizabeth. Really, she was intrigued by the male, how familiar a face he was to her, and yet not. She would find out why eventually, she supposed. Her family had many dealings with elves and especially elven royalty, with all they traded to them. So, she supposed she could be remembering him due to past trips to barter with the other kingdom.

"So, Kaien." Kaida started, feeling a bit less flustered talking to him the more she was around him. "You seem so familiar to me, I'm not really sure why. I was wondering if I seem familiar to you as well? Or perhaps I'm just thinking of someone else I've come in contact with?" She giggled a little nervously, hoping her question wasn't too forward. "It's just.. I'm so sure I've seen you before..."

OOC: Glad to see you're back on! I hope all is well!! :) I'm sorry for the lameness. I have a class coming up soon so I can touch up on it later!

Elizabeth muttered a quick thank you as she ducked into her room and set her stuff down on the floor, scrawling a quick note reading: My name is Elizabeth. I'm sorry for leaving my stuff here. I'll choose a bed after everyone is settled in. I hope to meet you all soon!

With that, she turned around catching the end of Kaida's questions. She chuckled softly before making herself known. She smiled at her new company, happy that she's making friends so quickly.

"Well! If you two are ready, we can go on our adventure?" she chirped.

(( - It's fine, lol. I'm just getting settled into university now myself--doing a year in another country and the enrollment process here is like a Kafka novel |D Anyway, hope this reply is alright! Let me know if you have any plot trajectory type stuff in mind or anything c: ))

Tanya quickly nodded, eager to agree with him. If she gave more thought to it, she might find something to argue with. She usually could, and did. But she wanted to befriend with this friendly, kindly person who she had not, as yet, even made a fool of herself in front of. Moreover, his clear sweetness made her want to act less combative than she often felt the need to be.

"Likewise. I'm glad I met you Tanya!"

His grin was contagious, and Tanya beamed in return. Not that she had great difficulty making friends, but she didn't always like the people she befriended, and sometimes would quietly resent them for liking her to begin with, so having encountered someone who seemed pleased to meet her who she was actually happy to have met as well was certainly a joy. She couldn't imagine that Shasta ever had any difficulties amassing friends.

"Oh I just realised I never asked you this but what dorm are you in?"

Tanya's cheeks and nose flushed briefly with colour as she remembered her earlier mishap. "Oh--I'm in dorm 2, actually," she answered, recovering quickly from her renewed embarrassment, smile unfaltering as she supplemented her answer by holding up two fingers in a sort of peace-sign. Without thinking much about it, her hands found their way back into her sweater pockets.

"I don't really know how the dorm numbering works, but are you far?" she asked lightly, gaze locked curiously on his heterochromatic eyes.

[-viola] Kaien gave Elizabeth a quick nod as she thanked him before slipping into her room, leaving Kaien alone with Kaida. He stood there, thankful that he'd chosen to wear one of his more casual outfits today rather than his Elven attire as he had some place to "store" his hands instead of having them hang limply by his side. He was conscious that having his hands stuffed into the pockets of his hoodie could make him come across as rude or disinterested, however, he was sure that neither of his companions would mind.

"So, Kaien. You seem so familiar to me, I'm not really sure why. I was wondering if I seem familiar to you as well? Or perhaps I'm just thinking of someone else I've come in contact with? It's just.. I'm so sure I've seen you before..."

Kaien looked over at the dragon and blinked, surprised by the sudden onslaught of questions. "You're part of the North-Reach dragons, right? The Royal Fam- my family trade with them frequently..perhaps you've seen me during a trade? My father always brought me along with him when the traders met with their supplies, he wanted me to see how things were done so I'd know how things work when I eventually take over the kingdom." He paused. Was he saying too much?

To his relief, Elizabeth reappeared then and asked the pair if they wanted to start their adventure. Kaien smiled, locking eyes with Elizabeth as he said, "Sure. Let's get going then!"

Ooc: Any chance your Luce is available to play with my Brianne? ;)

Ooc: I'll write my reply for you asap, got a little caught up earlier when writing my other reply ^^; as for plot trajectory..maybe they could venture further into the forest and make a shocking discovery? Or uncover a dark secret about the school or something? Let me know what you think c:

Elizabeth closed the door behind her. She glanced at the two in front of her sensing the relief from Kaien.

[I]"Sure! Let's get going then!"[/I] he said while looking at her in the eye. She smiled at him gently before looking at Kaida smiling brightly at her.

"Where are we going to start?" she asked looking between the two.

OOC: Apologies if my post is a bit rubbish, I'm so out of touch with roleplaying ^^;

BIC: Damien had a feeling that Vicente wasn't too fond of his home town based on the way he talked about it, but he wasn't about to question it further or push the water nymph for more information that he wasn't inclined to share. He figured that if Vicente wanted to tell him more he would do so in due time. They'd only just met after all, it would be rude of him to expect that the nymph would tell him everything there was to know.

He silently watched the other boy unpack, taking note of how engaged he was in his belongings. Damien should probably get to unpacking his things - it would save him valuable time if searching for something important - however, he wasn't prepared to start doing so just yet. Besides, his parents were bringing more of his belongings later in the week, he'd only got the essentials with him.

Damien stared over at the nix, examining him for a few minutes, carefully forming a response in his head. "Ain't that just the way.. Us..supernatural beings always seem to be on the run from something or other.." He sat up cross-legged on his bed, frowning as he continued, "I'm here for similar reasons. I-" He hesitated briefly. "Well I- died when I was 17. I was turned by my parents - they couldn't bare to lose me - so I became immortal. Obviously it's going to raise some questions if I don't age at all so my parents keep moving me around from school to school. We're not the..wealthiest family so they eventually got fed up of 'wasting' money as they put it, and- well- here I am." He smiled albeit sadly.
