(( Thank you for letting me join!! You said Dorm 3? Okie-dokie!!))
Elizabeth makes her way onto the campus she will be calling home for a while with her suit case two small bags and instrument cases. She suddenly stops at the doors and allows herself to take a few deep breaths. 'This is it. Time to start a new school,' she thought, 'I wonder what everyone's going to be like.' With that thought in mind, she walks through the door proudly, making her way to the receptionist's desk. She exchanges a small greeting to the lady before receiving her dorm key and map. Elizabeth looks at the map a few times to make sure she's going to right direction but decides to give up and ask. She stops and looks around the hall she's in and sees a couple of people to her left. With her face lighting up slightly, she makes her way over to them. "Excuse me. I hate to interrupt but I was wondering if I can be showed to Dorm 3. I believe I have the general direction but I'm quite unsure about the whole thing really. If you would like to be introduced before showing me around, my name is Elizabeth. I'm sorry if I am bothering you." Elizabeth looks between the two, mainly the little dragon girl. 'I feel like I'm intruding on something.' She thinks. 'The little one sure is intriguing. I wonder what her name is.'
((I hope this is good. I'm sorry if it's too much.))
Ooc: [-viola] Yup! Dorm 3~ Also if you don't get a reply in a week, I can introduce a new character so you can have some interaction? Just ping me if that happens :3
Ooc: [-viola] I know it's not been a week but I've drafted out my character anyways~ Don't worry about replying to this post as then you won't be able to post directly after, can only post once in a row after all xD
Name: Kaien Nickname: Kai Age: 19 (in Elven years he is 24) Appearance: Kaien The way he dresses varies, sometimes he'll wear traditional Elven garb (like that in Lord of the Rings) and sometimes he'll dress casually in a hoodie, band tee and jeans. Nationality: Canadian Personality: Quite serious, can come across as quite brash and insensitive, but behind that harsh exterior he is quite sensitive and has a good sense of humour. Very proud of his heritage (the Lothlorien tribe). Dorm: 4 Creature: Elf Crush: N/A Other: N/A
"Oh, me too. That and I'm rather shy around new people, although I'm not sure why." () Tanya nodded lightly at this, though it took a moment for it to register with her that this meant the guy would be her classmate. Surely that meant he wasn't ancient, right? She always assumed that very old creatures eventually got bored of taking exams and things.
"This isn't my clearing, no, although I do agree that it is rather odd. It looks abandoned yet it also appears that it has been tended to quite frequently."
Tanya tilted her head in agreement. "I s'pose it could be enchanted to stay so neat, but..." she looked around, admiring the random patches of wildflowers that seemed to have captured little sections of the clearing. "Perhaps it's used for some sort of activity at the school? Though, it is certainly a ways out."
Her eyes fell on a little cluster of mauve flowers a few feet away. Her immediate urge was to pick them, and she made a start for them intending to do just that. But, before bending, she paused, and ruffled them with a light breeze instead, deciding to affect them in this way instead of altering the clearing. Leaving the flowers, she turned around again to smile broadly at the shorter figure. She realized too late that she'd had her back to him, but hopefully this demonstrated trust instead of foolishness. She smiled broadly in an effort to emphasize the latter. "I'm Tanya, by the way," she called to him.

Shasta nodded firmly. "That does seem quite likely, though I've never seen an enchantment quite like this before..not even in the land I come from." He'd heard many tales about beings that knew enchantments, however not once had this particular one been mentioned, not even in passing.
"Perhaps a powerful woodland elf, or a nature fairy is responsible for this? Then again, it could just be the caretaker or gardener, if the school has one that is." He chuckles lightly, though he was unsure why as what he'd said wasn't particularly funny.
He watched her examining the flowers, his curiosity taking over as she, for lack of a better word, manipulated the flowers using a light breeze. Was she perhaps a nature fairy? No, she had a different aura about her, something unfamiliar to the young Hobbit. Snapped out of his musings by her voice he replied, "Shasta, its nice to meet you."
[-viola] Kaien sighed loudly. He decided he had better get up now as the new students were supposed to be checking in today, and he'd unwillingly been nominated by his classmates to be part of the group of second-year tour guides that escorted them to their dorms and showed them the main areas of the school. Despite not particularly wanting this role as he enjoyed lie-ins when he could squeeze them in, he couldn't say he blamed them really. Someone had to do this job after all.
Opting for a casual look for today he quickly threw on a dark green hoodie and some skinny jeans, carelessly pulling his worn brown combat boots on over the top. He preferred casual wear over the traditional Elven garments anyway; in his mind - though his parents would disagree - those clothes were only for special occasions, and today wasn't one of those occasions.
He opened the door to his dorm and stretched his arms towards the ceiling as he yawned. To his right was a group of students, all looking seemingly new. Two of them seemed to have found their dorm pretty quickly; the third looking confused and a little lost.
"Hey!" He called sleepily. "Do you need some help finding something?"
"Hey! Do you need help finding something?" Elizabeth looked away from the two people she was asking help from and saw a sleepy looking elf talking to her. "Ah. Yes. I'm looking for Dorm 3. I think I'm going the correct way but I'm still a little confused. Do you think you can help me?" She asked timidly. She studied him while waiting for a response. Intriguing was the only thing she could think when looking at him. 'He seems to know his way around school if he's asking to assist me.' She thought. 'Maybe... Maybe we'll become friends.'
OOC: I hope this wasn't god awful. I tried. I hope it's something you can work with?
Ooc: [-viola] It's fine love, I can work with it~
Bic: "Ah. Yes. I'm looking for Dorm 3. I think I'm going the correct way but I'm still a little confused. Do you think you can help me?" The girl said timidly. Kaien couldn't help but smile sympathetically. There had been a time when he'd been in the same position as her, and though he wouldn't admit it due to his pride, he had been quite scared himself.
"Sure, Dorm 3 right? If you'd just like to follow me. These two look like they need some time to unpack their belongings." He held his hand up in a waving gesture and then stuffed it back into the pocket of his hoodie. "I'm Kaien Greenleaf by the way."
"I'm Kaien Greenleaf by the way." Elizabeth felt herself relax as he smiled at her, even if it was sympathetic. She nodded slightly and realised she needed to reply. "Kaien? I like that name," she said with a small smile, "My name is Elizabeth Aldamin. Eli for short if you wish. It's a pleasure to meet you." She waited for him to start leading the way. Elizabeth then turned to the two she asked for help and bid them goodbye.
OOC: Sorry it's so short. I'm trying to think of something good. Hopefully it'll happen soon. :p
Tanya wasn't sure why he had chuckled, but she'd taken it to be good-natured, and had smiled warmly at the sound.
"Shasta, its nice to meet you."
Shasta was an interesting name, she noted to herself. It didn't sound particularly masculine, but then it also didn't sound particularly familiar, so perhaps it was a common male name for his kind. She wouldn't dream of remarking on it, in any case.
Instead, she realized how rude it was to still have her hands tucked into her thin sweater pockets and slipped them back out, extending the right one as she took a step towards the other student. "Nice to meet you, too!" she replied sincerely.
"You mentioned another land," she added as somewhat of an afterthought, still smiling softly. "Would that be Australia?" she guessed. "Or--not New Zealand, right?" She didn't think his accent sounded like he was from New Zealand, but she didn't really trust her ability to distinguish, and it seemed polite to at least acknowledge New Zealand as a possibility. Not that her question was particularly polite to begin with, really, but she couldn't help but be curious.

[-viola] "Kaien? I like that name." Kaien was a little taken aback by this comment. Most people thought it was a strange name, heck, Kaien himself wasn't too fond of it. He'd been named after a previous Elven King, his father's father. In fact, Kaien was one day supposed to take over the Lothlorien throne, not that he had much interest in that.
"It's nice to meet you too Elizabeth. Just follow me this way." He began to walk along the corridor. He supposed he should make some light conversation with Elizabeth although he'd never been particularly good at it. "So..um.." Man, socialising was hard when he was tired.
Shasta shook Tanya's hand and smiled warmly at her. Usually he was a lot more reserved and cautious around strangers but Tanya had done nothing to warrant fear or hostility so he was able to relax around her. It was a good feeling that sent an unfamiliar warm glow around his body which was a nice change to his usual feeling of fear and semi-emptiness.
"Would that be Australia? Or--not New Zealand, right?" No one had really taken an interest in his heritage before so this question took Shasta by surprise. "Oh that would be Australia, I'm rather close to New Zealand though, just a small trip across the ocean." He smiled gently.
"Forgive me if I sound rude, but where is your accent from? I've never been that good at pairing accents with their countries." He said with a sheepish look plastered across his boyish features.
Ooc: Sorry these weren't too great, I think I'm coming down with writer's block ^^;
OOC: It's okay. I haven't been that great with my replies at all. :p
BIC: Elizabeth followed him as soon as he started walking. She jogged after him at first but then started to find a pace that kind of matched his.
"So..um.."
Elizabeth looked over at Kaien as he tried to find something to say. She had a small smile on her face as she tried to think of something to talk about with him. She let him think for a little bit before throwing him what she thought would make a good conversation.
"So. Kaien. Um..." She found herself hesitating because she didn't want to intrude on his life, come off as nosy, or annoy him. She took a deep breath before continuing.
"Do you mind telling me a bit about yourself? Like, what are your interests, what do you dislike, what makes you laugh. Those kind of things I guess. I'm sorry if you don't want to share with someone you just met..." Elizabeth said starting to avoid eye contact, hoping she didn't make a fool of herself.
((OOC: No worries! Your reply was fine, and it hits us all at some point c: ))
Tanya didn't think long about the handshake, as her hand returned back to her side, but she fleetingly noticed that Shasta's hands were neither particularly harsh nor clammy. Soon after, she didn't think any more on it, but her hand seemed to remember the feeling of contact for just a moment longer than it ought to have.
"Oh that would be Australia, I'm rather close to New Zealand though, just a small trip across the ocean." Tanya's smile broadened as her curiosity was somewhat sated. She was pleased her question was taken without suspicion of offense.
"Forgive me if I sound rude, but where is your accent from? I've never been that good at pairing accents with their countries." Her smile softened again at his question, which was essentially her own posed back at her, but in a much more tactful manner.
Normally, she would be tempted to provide a cheeky response, like 'What accent?' just to savor knowing some information that someone else wanted. She relished whenever a secret formed in her possession. Now wasn't the time to be hypocritical, though. She could have been imagining it, but she thought there was something decidedly sweet and earnest about the fellow, and decided to afford him whatever kindness that warranted.
"Not at all!" came her cheerful assurance. "Mine is a bit of a hybrid, really, since I spent some of my childhood in St. Petersburg before living in the UK." Back home, she hadn't found that her accent was too hard to place, where if it weren't for the Russian lilt to her words she might've been mistaken for someone who'd spent their whole life in Newcastle. Since coming to study in the States, though, she found that many Americans found her accent entirely baffling. Not that she minded at all, anyway.
"Have you been living here long?" she added, hoping her question would carry the conversation along. Shasta seemed perfectly pleasant, but a bit more reserved than she was, and she didn't want to burden him with carrying things along, nor did she want him to wander off. He was nice, after all, and awkwardly wandering into the wrong room didn't really full her daily humanoid-interaction quota.

OOC: GAH I'M SORRY I have worked straight for like a week and the other days I've been doing grown up stuff ^^; I'm back BIC:
Kaida had wandered off ages ago, or so it felt like, having her conversation fall short, she supposed she was much to awkward to hold one in the first place. It was fine, she thought to herself as she headed back toward her dorm, the girl with elven ears that had spoken to her earlier standing with a boy with elven ears caught her eye. By the lack of wings, she supposed they weren't dragons, but maybe it would be easier to speak with the species that had been whole-hearted and kind to her race when no one else was. And, the girl had attempted before, she was just too shy.
Slowly she approached them, attempting to not make a fool of herself as she walked, it was hard to not stumble over her own feet. Her face hitting the floor for the third time today would really be a kicker. "Hi!" She said, starting off with a grin and then realizing that her teeth might be a bit frightening, so she covered her mouth. She was attempting to make friends, not terrify people. "I... hope I'm not interrupting I was just..." Kaida stretched her wings out as she scratched the back of her neck, before looking up at the two. "I'm Kaida!" She said finally, face bright red.

OOC: It's okay. I promise!!! ^-^ I'm sorry if it isn't all that great. I just woke up this morning. :p Also, can anyone tell me how to do the italicize and/or bold words or sentences? BIC:
"Hi!"
Elizabeth turned her head and saw the small girl from before smiling before covering her smile.
"I... hope I'm not interrupting I was just... I'm Kaida!" the girl said.
Elizabeth smiled at the girl, Kaida. She was so tiny and that interested her a lot.
"No. You're not interrupting," Elizabeth said glancing up at Kaien, "It's nice to meet you Kaida! I'm Elizabeth. I hope I wasn't bothering you back there. Or interrupting anything. I'm sorry if I was.."
Elizabeth felt her face flush a little, although it was nothing like Kaida's bright red face.
"Oh! It's okay to smile just so you know. Your teeth don't scare me whatsoever, poppet. In fact, I find it interesting!" She exclaimed looking somewhat excited.
Elizabeth glanced back at Kaien wondering if he was going to say anything before looking back to Kaida.
Ooc: Oh that's quite alright, I know that people can get quite busy at times~ [-viola] To do italics it's [ i ] without the spaces and then [ / i ] without spaces to stop the italics. To do bold just replace the 'i' with a 'b' c: Also I'm sorry if my replies are bad, I still have writer's block and I'm really struggling to think of stuff to write atm :/
Bic: It was fairly reassuring to Kaien that Elizabeth was also unsure what to say. Perhaps she was just as nervous around people as he could be. His father had always criticised him for this, insisting that is was not becoming of an Elven prince to be shy around his subjects. Kaien was thankful that he'd been able to escape from that life for a few years, hopefully he'd be able to stay away for longer.
Snapping out of his thoughts when he heard Elizabeth's voice again, asking him questions about himself, he gave her a quick sidewards glance. "Well I like-" He paused when one of the other students that Elizabeth had been talking to previously approached them and said, "I... hope I'm not interrupting I was just... I'm Kaida!" He noticed that the girl seemed reluctant to smile because of her rather pointed teeth.
To Kaien's relief, Elizabeth started talking first. After she'd introduced herself Kaien figured it was his turn. "I'm Kaien, I was just about to show Elizabeth where her dorm room was." He smiled gently at Kaida. "Do you maybe need help finding your dorm too?"
Shasta was thankful that he hadn't offended the Vila with his question, yet he couldn't help but feel slightly ashamed that at his lack of geographical knowledge. He listened to her response tentatively, smiling warmly at her cheeriness. It was nice to see someone sound so..passionate about their heritage for once. Where he came from people didn't talk much about where they came from, maybe that was the reason he was lacking in knowledge?
"Mine is a bit of a hybrid, really, since I spent some of my childhood in St. Petersburg before living in the UK." Shasta pressed his fingers to his temples in concentration as he tried to remember where St Petersburg was. "That's in...Russia right?" He asked after a few moments thought.
Despite his shy, reserved nature he was quite enjoying socialising with the Vila. In a way it was refreshing to him as he'd only been able to converse with fellow Hobbits before. Not many other creatures passed through his home land; if they did they were always too busy with trading and other business related affairs. "I haven't been here very long, no. Just arrived at this school today actually." He said letting out a small hearty chuckle. "How about yourself?" He thought it courteous to extend to Tanya the same politeness, he was a very kind hearted soul after all.
(( Your reply's fine :) Sorry if mine's uninspiring, lol))
As she watched Shasta concentrate very seriously in thought, she failed to stifle a small giggle. There was something both endearing and amusing in his sincere effort to recall information. "That's in...Russia right?"
A smile carrying over from the giggle, she nodded. "Yeah!" she answered, realizing she probably should've said Russia initially. "I haven't been back for a few years now, though, so even though I still have the accent I've lost a lot of the vocabulary," she admitted, smile unfaltering.
"I haven't been here very long, no. Just arrived at this school today actually." Tanya smiled, eagerly taking in the warmth of his laughter. "How about yourself?"
"Me as well, actually," she answered. "I landed about a week ago, and then moved in today. I haven't met any of my roommates yet, so hopefully they're sane and all," she added, flushing a little with leftover embarrassment from her earlier mixup. "Are yours nice?"

Kaida slowly lowered her hand at the reassurance of the elven girl, Elizabeth. Oh, right, she had introduced herself before! Kaida was known to space out, so she let out a nervous little giggle. "No, you weren't bothering me before, I just wasn't there, at all. My mind was completely somewhere else. So, I'm really sorry."
She smiled again when Kaien introduced himself, and addressed her with a rather gentle tone. It was soothing to her, knowing that there were students here who seemed to welcome her with open arms. "No- actually I've already found it, I was just around wandering to meet people. But I'd love to accompany you! You know..." She studied Kaien for a moment and then perked her eyebrow.
"You do look really familiar. I'm not sure why. My family- we make up the dragons of North-Reach, we've had dealings with elves many times. I...really wanted to talk to you two because you have been very kind to my species while the world was not." She blushed an even deeper red than before. "I would love to become friends, with both of you!" Kaida flashed her toothy smile up at Elizabeth.

"No, you weren't bothering me before, I just wasn't there, at all. My mind was completely somewhere else. So, I'm really sorry."
"No, no," she said with a big smile on her face while giggling a little bit, "It's okay. I know exactly what you mean by having you mind someplace else. My parents would scold me a lot for not paying attention when others were talking. So, it's more than okay!"
Elizabeth looked over at Kaien and saw what almost looked like relief on his face before he introduced himself. His tone was gentle when he spoke and it made her relax some more. She then looked back at Kaida when she started to talk again and as to why she talked to them, causing Elizabeth's smile to be a little more gentle.
"I would love to become friends, with both of you!" Kaida said flashing at toothy smile at Elizabeth.
Elizabeth looked slightly surprised for a moment before having a really big smile grow across her face. She nodded a little bit before actually speaking.
"I would love to be your friend Kaida! You seem very sweet and I would enjoy being around you!"
OOC: I'm sorry if this made no sense sometimes. I guess I couldn't gather the thoughts I needed today. :P Oh! And thank you for telling me how to italicize and bold things. :)
Ooc: Apologies for the unexpected absence, I've had a lot of uni stuff to sort out x'D Still kinda over the place with my writing too
Bic: For as long as he could remember Shasta had loved seeing people smile and laugh; seeing them glow with the warm feeling of happiness, and Tanya was no exception. Her laugh was soft and almost jingly sounding, similar to that of an elf he'd once met on a journey to a neighbouring village, in fact it was quite refreshing for him to hear paired with her enthusiasm about her country. "How comes you haven't been back there, if you don't mind me asking that is?"
"Me as well, actually. I landed about a week ago, and then moved in today. I haven't met any of my roommates yet, so hopefully they're sane and all. Are yours nice?" Shasta frowned slightly, it wasn't harsh at all and in no way directed at the Vila, more to himself in fact. He hadn't even met his roommates yet, he'd just chucked his bag in the room and retreated into the forest, how unbecoming of him. Internally kicking himself for being so rude he smiled sheepishly at Tanya, "I actually haven't met them either. I got a little..well, nervous.." His cheeks flushed a light shade of pink as he turned his face towards the floor.
[-viola] "No- actually I've already found it, I was just around wandering to meet people. But I'd love to accompany you!" was Kaida's response. The corner of Kaien's mouth upturned slightly causing a small smirk to emerge on his face. One less person to show around. He hadn't always been this reluctant around people (not that he'd show it) but he guessed that's what years of seeing how the Elven Kingdom was run had done to him.
He was a little taken aback when Kaida said that he looked familiar. Not many other folk knew about his family, despite it being one of the main families of the Elven culture but then again Kaida was a dragon and dragons were one of Lothlorien's main sources of trading. "The North-Reach dragons huh? I think I have vague memories of the North-Reach dragons, though I was very young at the time.."
He smiled warmly at the two girls. "I'd very much enjoy the company of you two during my stay here."
Ooc: [-viola] I will reply to you both asap, this was all I could manage for now as I was stricken with the news that my aunt passed away today as I was writing my replies. I'll try my best to get a reply up as quickly as I can~
