AMEN I completely agree with you on everything you said right here: With Keith saying this is due to css changes, will removing all of my custom css help at all or is this just broken for however long implementing the new css will take? As a side note...why on earth would you guys choose Luminaire season to push through new stuff? Every time you guys "fix" somethibg or push through changes, it inevitably breaks the site, causes massive lag or outright downtime and makes the site a complete mess for a while. Luminaire is one of the times of year that masses of players log on and the servers are already pressured by this influx. Just seems like a terrible time to do this unless it was absolutely needed asap.
**Taken from in the post above because TRUTH!!! [edit] EDITED cause its a new page so the last post on the page before this one...:P
I feel like a big old whiner, but good gods! I need to do Luminaire shopping for about 100 people and with all the glitches, downtime and scrolling, scrolling, scrolling just to get to what should be the top of the damn page is making that shopping less than fun to almost downright not gonna happen! I've been hanging out on reddit and playing Civilization instead of playing here for the last few days since all this started. The less time I'm here, the less I feel like this is my go-to relax and enjoy destination on the web since I am finding that elsewhere. Certainly doesn't encourage me to tell anyone about Subeta or try to get them to play :(
Very true and a feeling that I share with you. I am dreading Luminaire shopping myself. HOLY WOW on the 100 people to buy for!! I do not have that many. I have been hanging out in the lotto chat with a list of other ladies that play on beta, more than beta cause of this stupid shit that that do while trying to do probably the biggest event of the year that happens on a yearly basis. I would not feel bad or like a whiner, you have the right to state how you feel when they do dumb ass stuff like this since you contribute to the site I am sure, with cw buys and csc buys and all sorts of things I bet
Quoting this for truth. Why? Why now? Why not after the holidays? And why not the mythical wardrobe if you really had to work on something?
I have been having that event counter issue since i first came on this morning. I am at the point now in why bother telling them about the stuff that is whacked out and crazy when they really probably are not listening to us anyways.
We're listening :)
The event problem is due to upgrading our live events (the little bubbles that pop up) to the newest version of node which powers it. It was running version 0.7, last night I pushed changes that moved it to 0.10, as well as the other libraries behind it. Unfortunately that required actually changing a lot of the code, which means one or two things (like weird numbers of events, this not game breaking) pop in. However, it also means that the time taken to connect to the socket is about 75% less now, making pages faster.
We don't make changes just because we feel like it. We make changes because we have to. The CSS problems are from updating our UI library where our current version is depreciated and no longer supported by the developers. That means if something is wrong in the javascript (like how comment boxes appear halfway down the screen) there is no way to have it resolved without updating to the newest version.

It is not the changes themselves that make people pissed, its the fact that you do this stuff with no warning and in the middle of Luminaire. Of course people are gonna get pissed and vent and rant on the boards when all of a sudden stuff starts changing and going crazy and nothing is said for many hours. I am sure a lot of this ranting could have been avoided with some kind of notice to the user of the site that are filling up that site support bar on the news page. You ask our feelings and thoughts on stuff, when you are asking for feedback yet it seems you only listen once in a while, why ask if you really do not want to know or hear what we have to say??
I am super happy to see that the thread is at least being read
Events can't be deleted again... on Safari. I'll try chrome and firefox. Hope it's just me.

Does anyone else suddenly have a lot of changes around the site? The shop gives me hovers over the headers and the quick stock is different (I like it better actually haha), shop search has a box around it with dashes and boxes are missing around the pets in the training center. o.O
Chrome is not better. I'm sure they will fix it again.

- fingers crossed for soonish ;)
I wish we could delete events; o; I have some I'd like to, but can't at the moment:L
is this still being worked on? [edit] to be clear, I am asking because it's still "broken"
We are still looking into it. The CSS is a bit messy. :(
I still cannot delete individual events it's been months now. Tried using firefox, chrome and opera. All are the same. The delete all orange button is there which works, but not when you want to delete/keep a few.

I would love to have this issue fixed, lol.
Meaning no offense to scarsdale (or grace tbh) , With how long "looking into it" has been the answer, and with the fact that there's a bandaid, I am pretty sure that the higher ups marked this task "done" in their list of shit to fix. I personally don't expect it to be fixed like... ever. :( It's been months.
