True, I did learn some of those values from my mother. She was very much of the "Save now, buy later" philosophy. And it was reinforced when I saw how miserable it made some people who were doing it the other way.

There was a lot of good in how I was raised, mixed in with the bad. I can appreciate and be thankful for the good. That good is a large part of the reason for considering reconciliation in the first place.

I know it is none of my business and I avoided saying anything when you and Laurie were talking about it before. BUT. As a mom and as a woman who has lost their mom I can only encourage you to try to reconcile. It doesn't have to be so much that you are best friends or always together or anything like that. Just try to get to a point where you can hold a conversation. Things may not go the way you want and you may feel like you made a mistake even to try. No one can predict a sure outcome. But I can tell you this much, if you do not try there may well come a day when the opportunity to do so is gone and you will regret that you never tried.

I wouldn't mind an arm's length relationship with her. Problem is she is pushy and needy. If I open the door a crack she'll work hard to push it all the way open and then I'll be back in the position of having to slam it shut again. Or always have to be constantly pushing it back closed to a crack and I know I don't have the energy for that. I get exhausted just thinking about it.

I would pitch a fit a mile high but like I said before it wont matter, they're gonna do what they want, the asking what we think is nothing more than eye candy to make us feel like someone listens.

I get what you're saying about wanting more stats, some of the cash shop opponents are beastly. When they nerfed the full blockers that fort one must have slipped out of the grasp of a lot of people, I remember thinking to myself thank god I got to 5 on that one before they went and screwed everything up again. Baenwurath - had to look that one up I could boost a few stats myself with the 3.5 mil exp she's got rotting away but I'm still vehemently opposed to it being lifted. We didnt have a choice, no one else should either.

I mean, the Lady's ranked # 52 now but back then her rank was # 6. That was friendly competition between a few of us that kept us on our toes sighs That was fun and maddening at the same time, to come on and see that Doc or Sea had passed her again.

Anyway the up and commers realized we were stuck and boosted intel before they hit the cap. When that suggestion was made about using exp for intel, one of them said if capped pets didn't have high enough intel before it was put in place it was their own FAULT. Yep, they capitalized the word fault. Before I read that I hadn't put much thought into any of it. Now I'm totally against it.

I was furious. Our fault? Like what, the top 10 were suppose to have a f'ing crystal ball? How were we suppose to know ahead of time to tank intel? Or that their promise that there was no reason to worry about intel because it didnt count was just that - bullshit. Now that same people who wanted the cap want it raised. Seriously, what makes them more important then me or anyone else who hit it back then? This is what they wanted right? To catch up to the top pets? So now they can do what we've done for over 3 years, find something else to do.

There is one thing tho, to be fair there really should be something that blocks them from boosting intel for about a year and a half. They'd like that I bet.

Battling is why Wes and I came here at first - that and the look of the Reborn Archan. On Neo I also had a top pet but could never come up with the points for the exclusive weapons. What I had was fine for the dome challengers but in p2p I lost every time.

Back then they were talking about implementing a p2p battle system here and I realized I could get in on the bottom floor of it, training was sky's the limit and that no weapons were really out of reach. I was tired of seeing friends being tossed into the deep freeze for no reason, the drama and needed a change so I suppose being told about Subeta came just at the right time. I havent been back to Neo since. I can be here 24-7, loved the freedom that comes with restocking, vending, battling, fragging, and I also had amassed an impressive lineup for battling. When he left, it took me almost a year to learn how to function on here without bursting into tears so if I managed to come on, I never stayed long and didnt do anything battle related that I can remember. I call it the year of the fog. Anyways, I came back to Tiers and almost all of my weapons wouldnt work because of them except for with the Lady who ironically didn't need the exp. rolls my eyes

I understand what you are saying. I forget how long you said it has been since you have had contact with her but I can't help but wonder if she may have changed in that time. Not having contact with your child can do that.

When Sweety hit the cap he was ranked number 12. Now I am UP to 32 and that is only because of scratchcards. I still have a hard time with the fact that people who reached the cap after us are now ranked higher than us. It burns. I tend to stay out of the battle forum unless there is a major challenger that I need info about or to submit info for like stats on Jaxon. IDK how many people remember now (other than Ryan) but there was a time when a lot of the battle community resented the fact that my best pet was given to me. Of course he was nowhere as "good" as he is now and I have put tons of time and sP into training him, maxing him, boosting his intel. And my own two original pets that I have trained from the beginning are at tier 11 now so there is not really a ton of difference. But people are weird around here. One of the reasons I changed his name was because of those people. I was really thankful when they revamped the high scores and got rid of the old name with the old owner, though I do miss seeing his name on there. Of course, he probably wouldn't still be there anyway. I AM WANDERING.

That's always possible. But I have to weigh that possibility against all the drama and angst that will ensue if she hasn't changed. Maybe the possibility is worth it, maybe it isn't. I haven't decided yet.

Yeah...I get that. I've always been very annoyed at the "battle rewards" here. By the time you can beat that big guy that gives you that great weapon, your pet is strong enough to get along without that weapon. So what do you do with it? Sell it to make up a tiny fraction of the sP you've spent to get to where you are? Sure, provided someone is willing to spend enough sP to make it worth your while to sell. I want rewards that make a pet just a tiny bit better than it was...not sP, not a useless weapon. Its just one more thing that's kept me away from battling.

There is nothing attractive about the battle system. It has an extremely steep learning curve...and there is so much you need to learn to be an effective battler. I still don't understand the system, and I've tried. I've wasted a lot of sP, not only on weapons that are later changed and rendered useless, but on scrolls and potions and other things that it turned out in the end I couldn't use or didn't find effective. It takes way too long to train up to a good level. The rewards are crap. The challenges that exist are "created" challenges, not inherent in the system and just serve to frustrate instead of encourage one to get better.

Then there's the habit of doing things backward...like introducing the speed stat. Why add another stat? Just makes training take even longer and its already too long. Then they search around to find a "use" for the stat. Mind you, I do like the critical chance (LOL so there is one thing I like about the system).

People are jealous of really odd things. I had a friend tell me that I should just give them one of the staffs I sold because it was given to me. I was like yeah, sure, why not? Of course you'll have to pay me 1.5 bil for the heartbreak that's attached to it before I can give it to ya. They're a package deal, take it or leave it.

I remember when battle speak drove you crazy cuz you weren't into it, you were into collecting weapons, not using them. You've come a LONG way since then, thats for sure. And um.. I thought we were capped so nothing but boosters would affect our stats. Not that I'll be running to scratch a bazillion cards or anything but how about that.. I had no clue - learn something new every day.

I've been asked at least a dozen times how other pets could pass a capped pet and it still gets me fired up. It wasnt the number tho, it's my pride. Having a top 10 pet was always my priority, my ultimate goal and I was damn proud of accomplishing it. Now it's become a moot point.

Have you ever posted your thoughts where "real" people can read them? lol, you know what I mean, people that can actually do something about it. I think you should You seem able to state things without bringing emotion into it so they would be more likely to hear you.

Sweety used to be Defi. Face and Lady broke up. :( When they did she unfriended me on facebook so I have no idea how she is. He is still there though and seems to be doing really well. He seems to travel a lot and do the things that young men his age do, haha, like drink a lot!

I still don't really understand battle-speak though I can talk about battle stuff. I don't really know what all the terms are and I don't really care. You are right about the weapons....most of them go straight to my armory now rather than wardrobe. I even accidentally put the new staff in my wardrobe and had to go dig it out. However I did not try it out for several days, lol.

When they recently changed scratchcards to only affect the active pet I decided to try it out and see if it would work. I am not advertising that it does! I really don't want them changing that on us. I still need to scratch more than 1300 cards so I am hoping to raise my rank some more.

nods Same here, at first battling was familiar to what we did on Neo and that I was well schooled in but then came the first change, then a revamp, then another revamp, then another and another and another. I dont know if it was just me but for awhile it seemed they wanted to keep things out of reach for anyone who was trying to get there by making it more confusing, over-complicated and just before you could finally get to the point of seeing success another revamp came along. Like they wanted you to give up which would be really stupid but that's how it felt.

Battling is the most expensive hobby you can have on here, getting to the top takes all of your time, you're dedicated to training, boosting and any sP you have you invest so you can keep training. Not to mention the time and sP we put in to trying to get our hands on weapons that'll get the win.

I cant walk away from it tho, I've put so much energy into getting my pets to the top I'm not sure if I ever will, even tho the whole system seems to have morphed into something that's nothing like it should be.

I've thought about it. I never have mostly because I don't have anything constructive to say about it. When I'm complaining i like to be able to say something positive, and if that's not possible at least to be able to add some possible ways to fix the system.

With battle, I know what I don't like, but I don't have any thoughts at all on what to suggest to make it into a system I would enjoy. At least not in a way that would incorporate the existing system such that people wouldn't "lose out" any more than they already have. I wouldn't want things changed so much that the current weapons are all invalidated, or training is changed so that the years people have put into it is now useless. That would just compound the problems.

So it comes down to complaining for the sake of complaining, to no real end.

Are you guys on any high score tables? Georgie, I know you are. I've been tracking the payouts for quite a while now and the consistency has improved tremendously. At least it has for Its_Just_Me and I. Another person has posted a couple of times and she's missed a payout occasionally, but gotten most of them right lately. I'm wondering if you can drop by the thread in the next few days and let us know if you've been getting your payouts. It seems like its mostly fixed, but I'd really love some confirmations from more people.
