I've also re-hauled characters completely before. My pet Phinean was one that I picked up from the adoption center when I first joined so he was something brand new to me (as opposed to bringing my old characters here to create them as pets). When I first got him I decided that he was this mysterious singer that only wore a trenchcoat, pants and a fedora, and drank coffee... Dear lord.. I got rid of all that completely. He's gone through several layout changes but I'm hoping this is the final version. edit: oh yeah, and another pet that I re-hauled completely was Lyxander, whom was a twilight ghostly... And now he's a sweetheart Devonti... huge change in concept there xD

You're welcome :3 I also make overlays but only recolors/edits of official art. xD It's one of my favourite things, taking something purely subetan and twisting it into my or my friend's character designs. :D Sometimes it's challenging but honestly that makes it even better when I figure out how to do what I wanted. I'm trying to build up my sP myself, so I can buy the first MC slot comfortably.

You are so sweet! I think you hit the nail on the head when you said not having proper profiles really puts it off. I think that is awesome you're learning how to do some of it yourself! I'm personally not up to the challenge of learning any coding, but maybe I can work my tush off and save enough for someone to do one nice pet profile for me. That way then I can finish the TC and the story. Perhaps that's the only order my brain can work in xD Get one pet done and I'd really feel like I could keep going.

Oh dear, I love how much old OCs change along the way... So many of mine have gone through massive changes or complete overhauls as well, my darling Shantay the most. He started out as a spectrum devonti I found from the pound ages ago, and is now a completely new pet with a new name. He used to be a glacier tigrean for the longest time and had an icy grumpy personality to go with it (tbh still does), but now his design and entire universe / story has been turned upside down and through a blender. He should get a color change to fit his newest design, but I like the glacier popoko too much to get rid of it ;--;

I agree, it's super fun mixing own designs with site designs, I've been thinking of doing something along the same lines for proper pet overlays and / or pet buttons. My Kinslayer is the only one who has a proper neela overlay now, but I've been thinking about changing it a little more.

And same, I want to buy myself some new slots, but I'd rather not be piss-poor right after it, so slots will have to wait for now, hah.

I've only coded one pet profile so far, and the only thing that's substantially missing now is the story, but I still can't seem to find the motivation to write anything down lol. But it's definitely boosted my motivation to actually work on my pets now, so I guess there's that.

It sounds like a good plan to get one pet finished first, so then you'll get to admire your handiwork and figure out what works best for you and in what order. :D

So, remember how I said I was going to work on Lethallan's story back in the middle of July? Yeah that never happened. I think I'm going to do Georgiane and Cullen. first, or possibly Kirkwall. I got both volumes of World of Thedas and I'm going to work on gathering background info and shit this weekend and then possibly start their stories. I'm the actual worst. I just need to sit down and map out my ideas, which is honestly the only thing keeping me from writing. Once I've got a plan the story will basically write itself.

Good luck! Have you tried Realtimeboard for mapping out all your ideas? I personally find it super easy to use and you can basically just expand on every half-formed idea you've got. Oh, and if you need someone to bounce ideas off of, I'm here for u. :D I really should work on Dalish and Tabris's stories too, but I've got absolutely nothing written down so far e__e

Phinean is brilliant oh my god. I really like how immersed his character is into the subetan universe!! I had totally forgotten Jim used to be a charlie, it's been so long since he was revamped. And same, I loved finding more expensive pets from the pound as a newbie (still do, although now I've got the money to get them myself and no free space, but it's wonderful that this way new users can get some fancy colors too.)

Ohoho congrats for reaching your goal already! I've been spending so much as of late that I'm still not comfortable using yet another 20 mil even if it's for a pet, I've still got my quest-a-thon slot free since I didn't catch the name I was planning to get :') I'm so tempted to just create more fandom pets because some of the actual names are free, but then again I also want to have room for some original characters. (that, and treasure chests for a bunch of Tolkien's First Age elves would end up very repetitive and expensive sooner rather than later.. The ones I have now are already eating all my money. )

I like the idea of having a snippet on the profile and then a link to the actual story. Have you got TC stuff figured out yet, or is it something you'll focus on after writing everything down? Getting close to being done with the set up that I need to layout before I start operation noodle babies. I'm like pouring through World of Thedas (1 and 2) and the wiki to gether info. I was attempting to calculate when cullen was born and then saw it was in plain sight on his wiki article. I was correct though! I literally used the dates in WoT and the span of DA II and the two years pre-inquisition and like wrote all the shit out and figured out what year he was born. Dedication.

I'm making a damn storyboard/timeline. This is fucking insane. I've never cared this much about any story so this is ridiculously weird for me. I'm finally to the point where I'm plotting the inquisition plot span and stuff pre the defeat of Corypheus. SO CLOSE!!!!

I am bored with my pets. Again. I've gone off the ideas I had for my new ones and should probably just abandon them all...but a few have names that are fairly personal to me and I don't want to abandon them just in case I change my mind again. Tempted to rename them before abandoning them but that'd be quite expensive for a name that I may never end up using (and could still be taken by somebody else).

Still, I kind-of want to go back to having a single pet and have started getting back into battling/reading books to my main pet. Now he needs a new name. And a new colour. And maybe a new TC as well, though he currently has 323 items in there and thinking about having to remove them all manually makes me want to cry.

I have the opposite problem with TCs, sort of. Some of my pets definitely have overlapping themes but I can never come up with a big enough theme that leaves me broke. For my pet Lyxander I'm getting all cupcakes and that's the biggest and most expensive theme I have. But for the majority of my pets I'm struggling to fill their TC up. Like Phinean, because there is a distinct lack of gym type items.

Unfortunately my work on pets has to come to a halt again because I've been having a lot of computer issues lately, and the word document containing my most recent story is stuck on my other computer which has stopped working yet again. :c

That's amazing! I still haven't bought the second WoT because the shipping almost doubles the price for me, so I've been lowkey trying to lurk for it to get available here. But hoho, you've got some crafty deduction skills! Cullen is SO YOUNG during Origins. ;; You can do iiitt!! I've noticed that timelines really help me to plan out stories too, makes them so much more tangible. Especially when you can easily shift events around without having to write it down all over again.

I'm a bit at loss at what to do with some of mine as well, so now they're just sitting idle for the moment, but I've been thinking of getting them all redone once I figure out some new plans for them. Going back to having just one pet is always an option though, you should do what you're most comfortable with! c:

I wish I had the dedication to do the same, subetan pets living in subeta. ;u; It's nice to incorporate parts into the story that are already around you, and thus connect it to everything else. Hmm, I mainly just collect anything that vaguely relates to the character and their story, from clothes to trinkets to .. literally anything else. Or if they look pretty and fit the color scheme and overall theme well enough, hah.

Btw, looks a whole lot like gym equipment, idk if you already have it though. Maybe Major Drills or GoOutside will someday give us some more stuff, here's to hoping.

So sorry to hear about your computer! I had mine completely screwed up when I updated to Win10, had to take it to repair for a couple of days because the update did horrible things to my poor baby. (for stuff like this though, using Google Drive or other similar type program might be useful, since you can access the files from other computers :D )

I impulse adopted eleven new pets at the end of May/early June; some with scientific names related to birds and the others names that I'd owned in the past. My plan was to turn the scientific ones into each of the different bird pets and fill their TC's with all the items relating to that pet. Other bird items would be split between the rest and the pets themselves would get turned into bird pets as well. So a lot of birds. :P

My main problem is I don't like a lot of the items I'd be planning to buy for them, or of the available colours for some of them so I've lost my interest in that. My main pet has bird minions/realistic bird wearables but there are so many CW's that would fit that I could never hope to buy them all....so I've lost a lot of motivation for that as well. I like knowing that I can collect a set of items 100%! And I've really gone off him being so cutesy looking.

I get a Loyalty Box in a few days so knowing I have an easy way to change his name/colour is what's causing me to rethink all of this.

Eleven is a lot omg, no wonder you feel overwhelmed :') I really like the idea of dedicating each pet to its species, but it also sounds like a really difficult task to get any variance in the TCs since there's probably not all that many items in the first place, especially official ones. D: And I feel you, I like knowing that I can collect a full set or fill my TCs with stuff that's at least somehow available, but there's a very distinct lack of certain items on this site, and I don't even know where to start with private CWs..
You could always try to combine some of the similar pet themes, if you want to downsize? It's nice that subeta has quite a bunch of different bird pets though, although there could always be more ;u;
