Yeah that is so true. And those types of mistakes are the hardest to spot. They're tiny but can cause big problems.

Y'all make me want to write real stories. :P Tell me your story ways. Do you write long stories? Short stories? Character descriptions? Vignettes?

As if I didn't have enough on my plate, I decided to rename a pet I hadn't worked on, and now ideas are brimming over in my brain. Ugh!

I think I probably qualify as the laziest pet person ever. Like I've seriously done nothing yet.

Yeah LOL I saw this thread so I was like...sounds like somewhere I should post.

When I came back I decided I didn't care as much for cws so I sold a ton and now I have csc to actually spend for once and there's not many threads up qq doesn't help I'm picky and like different styles depending on the pet.

Yeah I'm a pro stalker, but not as much on my phone and I've been a but lazy to use my pc lately ;.; unless I'm creeping on a name I tend to post a lot more on my phone. Adam is amazing, I'm not sure he's gonna be back on ste for some time, though. I know he still takes commissions through tumbr? And it's all good, a few of my pets are pretty messy, but hopefully I'll get the art to get them profiles soon.

Yeah it's a good idea for sure. I've been posting as I slack off at work qq it helps me keep awake as I get in at 430 am LOL and thinking about what pets to color ahh.

~ I went to bed around 12:30 or so with my hubby, and woke up about 15 minutes ago. I slept terribly, very vivid and strange dreams... pizza dreams. But even still, it feels like it should be like 8am or so, and it's only 4am... so weird.

Aw I don't really dream too often LOL pizza though. Maybe your body is craving pizza for dinner today? Even on my days off since I work so early I usually sleep early still and wake up around 7 v.v some days I wanna stay up till 1am and sleep in. Why body why!

I hate weird dreams! I am traveling right now, and I keep having dreams about our petsitter, like that something terrible happens or I wake up feeling generally uneasy. :( I hope they're not trying to tell me something about my in-real-life babies... Last night, though, was the weirdest. I had a dream that when I got home, our petsitter had traded our car in for a new luxury pickup truck. And he was so happy that he did this for us, and he thought that he was doing us this huge favor. But my husband and I were furious because we couldn't afford the payment and we wanted our old car back. Then the petsitter was offended and huffed off and I woke up worrying about the petsitter AND my car. :P

I would like to open a topic of discussion. Custom overlays. It pertains to pet laziness because it seems to be on the list of things to have to show that you love your pet(s).

Do you guys have overlays? Do you want overlays? Do you prefer to see pets with or without them?

Me personally, I prefer to see pets without them. I mean, I appreciate all the work and love that went into making the overlays. And if someone wants them, good for them! But... I kinda feel like why would I put effort into making my pet a certain color if I am just going to cover the pet up with an overlay? For instance, my friend has a Reborn pet that she is putting an overlay on to make it covered in water instead of flames. Very cool idea. But then I wonder why even bother spending the sP to make it Reborn when no one is going to see its Reborn-ness because of the overlay... Thoughts?

Now, to clarify, I love art on pet pages. Like, show me your Hydrus Montre and then show me an amazing drawing of the Montre, and I'm happier than a pig in mud. :P

~ I can't speak for others, and I don't actually have any real overlays yet, but I would guess that part of it might be in re-defining the type of pet. For instance, with your friend, people would see "Reborn Squigglyspooch" -- where "Reborn" is water instead of fire. Or, like a Scribble pet. Maybe they want to redo the scribble to something else, but it is still a scribble drawing, etc. Perhaps, too, it's a form of goal-seeking. Everyone wants 'special' pets, but redrawing them allows them an even more level of uniqueness, while giving the player a goal.

Hmm, I don't really have a preference for or against custom overlays. They're a nice way to showcase some amazing art. And your unique character designs.

Personally most of my characters are human so pet art isn't really a priority. For some of them I might not get any at all. I'm more the kind of person that's happy buying one piece of art of my character that fits them perfectly, rather than having an entire hoard of art. So for me custom overlays aren't really necessary.

I understand Custom Overlays for pets that are tributes to someone or something else that could not be adequately represented by a plain Subeta colour.

I also agree with what said about having one piece of art that nicely represents a pet versus a huge collection of random art in various styles. Like I much rather prefer a single, nicely done piece of art as opposed to a huge photobucket album of various art but again, that's just really personal preference.

Awww, darn :< I'm sure if you wait long enough SOMEONE has to come up with an art selling thread hehehe I suppose you could always hardcore lurk the free art threads as well maybe? :P

I also think Subeta artists themselves do such a gorgeous job creating the art that they do, so I pick a colour/species combination that reflects the personality of my pet's character and just leave it as it is.

i like having custom overlays but i sure as shit don't like drawing them, so the vast sweeping majority of my pets don't have overlays

I think that the custom overlays are wonderful though some of them get to where they don't even really seem like the pet anymore but I also feel that is part of what makes them so wonderful. Being able to customize the pet to what you want, gives you another level of enjoyment on the site.

I also love them say with reborn as an example I plan to make my pet reborn but he uses soul fire so I would give him a more souly looking blueish white kind of cold fire and the sort.

I use overlays on their profiles, but no I don't use custom ones for all over the site. That's mostly because I don't want to spend the money on them lmao. I think they are really neat though.
