I never picked a band to support, but I did join/create a band and we worked hard making our avatars look hella cute. I'm really disappointed that it seems I get literally zero participation points simply because I didn't like the popularity-esque contest. Or the game. :|

Unfortunately I think that's how it works. :c I was also irked that there was literally nothing for making a band, when I was under the impression there would be. When they said there would be participation prizes I thought that included participating in the preliminaries at least, but it seems like if the staff didn't like your band enough to let you move on then any work you put into it is immediately trashed and it's like your band never existed. I wish there would have been a gallery or something that showed all the bands that didn't make it because I'm curious and I also would have liked people to see the band I made.

Why does it sound like people who hate events still participate in them? I don't see anyone forcing you to be in them.

It did specifically state that there would be prizes for participation at the stage when we were making bands... which was misleading at best. If prizes were only meant to be given to those who picked a band to support, that was never made clear.

- If there was a contest to create a unique and well-rounded NPC to add to Subeta, I would be all for that contest! That actually sounds fun and challenging. However, the idea of actual players of Subeta being made into NPCs just doesn't seem a good idea...at all.

- Woot! No band supporting club here we come ^ ^

- I don't really think people on this thread are being sorelosers at all. If anything, I think you're the first person to name call anyone on here for expressing their concerns and issues with how the prizes were handled. I think it's odd that the Granny Smith items were given to supporters of Horns and Roses, and that individuals who didn't even participate in the lousy game were given more goodies than those who worked their tails off. Subeta normally has that reversed. Hard work means more rewards.

Yes, please. I was so bummed when the staff announced that they had picked the finalists and that was that.

Would it have been that hard to allow a small gallery like the HA contests in the past have had?

That certainly makes it seem like just joining a band ("entering") should have resulted in at least a prize.

- All you got out of this thread was that people hate events? That's not accurate at all, and a terrible generalization. A lot of the users here have participated in a number of events and honestly as one of those users, this was handled poorly. There are been multiple aspects of previous events that people really liked, and when I say people I mean the majority. Prize shops for one have been incredibly successful with previous events. Another, is that popularity contests aren't received well. Every single event that has had that feature has ended with a lot of distaste and disappointment from the general population.

I don't think anyone here hates events(possible a couple do but the rest of us, no), more we're just tired of things that don't work showing up and things that do work not showing up.

Name calling? Not really. I'm not pointing fingers at any one person or group. I've read through the whole thread (as well as the news comments) and yes, some people seem to be a little sour about losing. Not saying that some of it isn't justified because yeah some of the distribution was a little strange.

Only on Subeta, where GAMES means one lousy game, VIP means getting to pet a goat, and BotB means battle of the quickest fingers on that one lousy game.

On the bright side, I still really like :x

^ lol I completely forgot about the VIP thing.

Strong VIP privileges. Access to "exclusive" items.

Those who dropped 30mil SP for it in the last minute cant be very happy.

people who participated in making a band for themselves should get a special prize too. i saw many who tried really hard to promote themselves and had good ideas who never made it into the final cut. i think those ppl deserve something too :(

So basically my fault was that my band concept was interesting enough to reach the finals? If it hadn't, and if I had supported the right band afterwards, I'd swim in prizes now? Sorry but something doesn't feel right about it. Also, I feel SUPER BAD for the guys and girls that supported us because they were all just sweet and amazing and everything and deserved more than that.

But hey, on the bright side the reward system matches the rest of the event - congrats. applauds

I really don't understand a lot of what is being said on this topic. I'm honestly not being like... snarky. I honestly don't understand it.

Some people are wording their posts like... it's not fair that HnR supporters got prizes because they all did absolutely nothing to support their team, and everyone else in the other bands that made it to the finals/won their genres worked their fingers to the bone playing the game. Some posts even sound vaguely like they're calling the validity of the scores into question? Since when does 'being on the team with the highest score/most supporters' mean cheaters/people who didn't participate, so none of them deserve their prizes? I really don't understand. Maybe I'm missing something, I don't know.

I understand being bummed about not getting prizes - I was on a team that won their genre and I got six prizes. But like saying the supporters of the winning team doesn't deserve their prizes just because you lost is bad sportsmanship, literally.

It's human nature to be upset when you don't get something that you really want. But trashing someone who did get it is pretty shitty. Granted, Subeta sort of had a hand in this mess - we've had backlash in the past over 'exclusive' items from events. It never turns out well XD

[edit] Reading back through more of this topic, I'm going to amend this a bit.

I agree that the way the prizes were distributed was crappy at best. Although I'm sure it was inadvertent, what ended up happening was that a lot of people who did do well in certain aspects of the BoB kinda got screwed. And yeah, there were way more exclusive prizes than there needed to be for the winning band. Sorry HnR, but had a good point there - it's four times as many exclusive prizes as have ever been given out for an event. That overkill just added to the frustration of the userbase.

The day before we were allowed to begin sending scores for our bands, I had surgery and I was in recovery for the rest of the event. I couldn't get to my computer much at all, and so I didn't participate in the game even once. I didn't send any scores, and I didn't even try and play the game.

But I was a supporter of H&R, so I got twenty-four prizes - more prizes than, apparently, people who actually put a lot of effort into the game we were given to play? That seems kinda messed up, imo.

I mean I'm grateful for the prizes I was awarded, they're very, very nice, and I'm happy with them, but it's weird to me that I got them. I even thought it was a glitch at first that I was given so much for doing basically NOTHING, and I opened a ticket about it. Then I came to the forums and I guess that wasn't a glitch? I feel a little bad, because I did literally nothing except click ONE button, for ONE second, after NO thought except "oh, pretty avatars", and, because of the dumb luck that I chose the right band, I got more than I would have gotten had I supported another band but participated for hours daily.

Idk. It's just weird to me. I don't really like this. I'd be discouraged if this happens in a future event.

I like it better when we earn an individual amount of prize points and can use them to buy items in a shop.

I'm disappointed that people who didn't get chosen by staff basically wasted their time even trying to make a band. There was zero prize, zero recognition and our bands pretty much never existed. While it seemed like there would be a participation prize.

Then I jumped the "wrong" ship and joined a band that didn't win anything. If I had clicked the right button and supported the right band, i would have been a few extremely rare collection items richer. Now I'm in the situation where I have to pay about 150mil just to get plushies that I NEED to complete my collection. Last time checked we had enough rare and expensive collection items, we were really not in the need for more.

on the event in general: I was vip, I paid 30mil and all I got was a lousy goat. For something so hyped, YAY VIP, OMG YAY, EXCLUSIVE, GET THIS... i really expected more than just a cute goat to pet.

[edit] wait what the Roses band even got their own sticker. WTF
