I don't watch the VMAs, but I don't think the people who placed second (wait do they even have 1st,2nd,3rd, etc?) get acknowledged at all.

but back on track-ish... it's a bit sad that they decided to make a "Runner-up" status, but nothing else to go along with that. Don't get me wrong, I'm happy about the Granny Smith items because they are absolutely adorable. But how awesome would a forum title saying "You tried" be?

They don't.

Not every single person that finishes in second position for something is going to get something for their trouble. This is what happened. You got items, you got rewards, but you're not going to get a title or a trophy, because these are part of the rewards for the winners.

The "You tried" title, had it been made, should be given to every single person that did not win. Because everyone tried. But, just because everyone tried doesn't mean everyone succeed to the same degree, and you have to let things goat. ;)

While I am grateful for the attempts to rectify the situation, I admit that I'm still a bit peeved, but that's because I'm wardrobe-obsessed and there are some very special items I need to somehow get my (poor) hands on. I mean, the shiny trophy is nice and all and the plushies are great, but... I dunno... I feel like the absolute top scorers (even if it's just the top 3, I'm not JUST saying this 'cause I'm upset for myself) really deserve every prize. They literally did the most work and put forth the most effort. I understand that they were given the genre posters, which is a step in the right direction, but still leaves a bit lacking. I'm not saying that HnR didn't deserve the win or their prizes, but would it really hurt the band that dramatically for an extra few items to be distributed to the top players? If you HADN'T been a part of HnR (maybe someone else created a similarly-themed band before you did) and had scored within the top percentages on the site, wouldn't you feel somewhat entitled to those top prizes? I'm inclined to think that you would.

However, I do want to extend my gratitude that staff has attempted to rectify the situation. No, I'm not absolutely pleased, but I appreciate your efforts. I know that there is no clear-cut solution. We want one thing, while band members & staff decisions support alternative solutions. Frankly, a good portion of my frustration is that I was in the top 10 scorers (I DO quite like the trophy :D) and wasn't able to obtain the items I most wanted. For all that pain (playing for so long was truly painful; it was by no means a pleasant experience playing that game for hours at a time) I admit that I expected to be rewarded. I believe that you'll do better next time, but that's probably because I'm an optimist deep down. Please, in the future, consider more seriously the ramifications of your decisions. Prize distribution is an issue that I believe you take seriously, but I believe now and always that the people who do the most work deserve the most prizes, regardless of exterior situational dynamics. I've never before performed so well in an event and, frankly, if this was any indication, I wouldn't feel motivated to put forth nearly so much effort next time.

I really don't get why the winners of this contest are beeing rewarded this much, what's so special about this one that didn't apply to all the other site contests? I have nothing against the winners, and I am not asking that the items are removed from the site or any change at all, I just don't understand all the emphasis on this particular contest, like they did something so amazing that they had to be rewarded with their own items which are exclusive and will never be available to any other user again o__O I mean, winners of the EPICON Cosplay Contest didn't get anything even remotely as exclusive as this, and it was pretty much the same type of contest, I fail to see the logic behind this D= Also, you guys are making me not to want to join any type of contest anymore, seeing as effort is not rewarded but dumb luck is.. people like should get better prizes than people who just clicked a button and picked the winner band =(

I don't have a whole lot to say about the event other than it was incredibly boring and not very inclusive of Subeta's less social members.
