Zero looked around the room and thought 'What a boring way to spend lunch.' He stood up and walked over to the teacher. He said something to her and soon she left. Taking his seat he said "We have 15 minutes before she comes back Make it last." Looking over at Jannee he smiled and stood up. As he walked over to her he heard someone come into the room. He looked at it was Rika. She walked over to Zero with tears in her eyes. She hugged him and said "Your an asshole you know that" He smiled and hugged her back. "So you figured it out." He then let and pulled her over to Jannee and said "Hey so did oyu ever think about tonight? Even if you don't know anyone there it would be cool of you to show up and just kick it with me and Rika." He got a little nervous. He knew he was going to be drinking and possible drugging it up at the "get together." He just didn't want Rika to find out, she'd be so disappointed in him

Jannee's heart fluttered and she smiled back timidly. Zero and another girl walked over to her desk, and he asked her about her thoughts about the meeting tonight. She tried not to eye the other girl, who surpassed her looks by far. Jannee had been so stupid to think she had a chance with Zero! Of course he already had a girlfriend! She realized that silence was starting to lag on more than necessary. "Uh....yeah! Sounds like fun, I'll see you there." She choked out in a hurry.

Red delved deep into his thoughts, not hearing the words spoken by anyone nor the footsteps of the escaping teacher. He felt his heart sink and nearly cease it's beating, and his chest was tight, so his lungs had difficulty expanding for breath. Red's journal had been read- possibly- and he wasn't prepared to have anyone or anything besides the journal itself to know his inner feelings.

After self-loathing for a few more minutes, Red lifted his head and looked to Charlotte, showing the sadness and malice in his eyes. He didn't know what to say, and for once in his life, he was in no mood to confront the one who had hurt him. Anything he said to Cali could result in a long talk about what was written, and he wanted the thoughts to remain unspoken. "Charlotte... What do I do?"

In the back of his mind, Red knew this was bridge-building and the little, insignificant fight between them had vanished from importance in his own mind. Now he needed advice, and he was humbled enough by the actions of Cali to plead for it.

Charlotte made a disapproving noise as Dale called her 'babe'. "I'm not your 'babe'. Don't even think about it, werewolf boy." She snapped. She was in no mood for some idiot to flirt with her. She just simply did not put up with stupid boys who seemed to think that she was their 'babe'. God, she was so done with boys like that. So instead, she just turned her attention to Red, whom seemed to need her now much more than he probably ever would.

"Well..." She started, taking in a deep breath. Charlotte ran a hand through her hair. "Well...first off, I would ask what the hell was so important in your journal, but it's none of my business. So, forget that. If she read a page, she's obviously much more obsessive than I thought. As much as it's gonna suck, you're going to have to confront her..."

"And say what? I know you know my inner-most thoughts now, so... Stop? She knows me now, and there's no taking back the information, and yet I feel like something has to be done, but what?" He dug his fingers into the wood of the desk, noticing the wood splintering around the rivets his fingers were digging. Red's temper was acting up, and he didn't know why this time. But the anger was turning hot and red, and so was Red Manscotti-himself.

"What do I do?!" He was beginning to get louder, he noticed it as soon as the words left his mouth, and then dropped his forehead to clunk against the desk. His manly, strong hands were gripping the edges of the desk, and he closed his eyes. What he wouldn't give to be completely alone on the planet.

Charlotte sighed, taping her pencil against her lips as Red became angrier than before. Yes, she had seen this side of him, and it was never a surprise. So, she learned to stay as calm as possible. As soon as he dropped his head against the desk, she covered his hands with her small and dainty ones. "Red, please calm down." She murmured softly. "I know that is the last thing you want to hear right now."

Her voice was calm and sweet, and she sighed. "You can't avoid her forever, Red. Because you know as well as I do it will simply get worse if you ignore it. But if you think about it, Cali will never say anything to anyone. That would upset you, and I'm sure she wouldn't try anything that would upset you. As she is...enamored with you." The last part was sort of hard to say, and it confused Charlotte.

Zero said "That's great." He turned "Hey Rika why don't you go and we'll meet at the party tonight. It's at the pier at eight tonight." They hugged and Rika left the room. He looked back at Jannee and said "Just a warning, there's going to be people there that will try stuff with you if they do just come get me." He stood up and then saw Red. "I'll be right back." He went over to Red and Charlotte "What's wrong with him?" He looked at the girl, "Hey bro, if you keep breaking the desk they'll make you pay for it. Listen why don't you guys come to my get together at the pier tonight? it's at eight. I'm sure you'll find a way to cool off."

Red looked up at Cali, his hands reacting slightly to the chill of her cold fingers, since his own were always warm. "I don't like feeling this weak, Charlotte. This isn't the sort of thing I can handle easily." His eyes were blank, and through the creases in his forehead and the clenched jaw, his stress was apparent. He sighed and looked at the man in front of him, hating to break the conversation with Charlotte but in no mood to get someone else angry with him.

After the invitation was given, Red looked to Charlotte, and then back to the man. "I think I should just stay home." He gave a crooked, forced smile to the man and rested his chin against the desk. Somehow, he knew Cali would end up going to the get together tonight, and his stomach seemed to knot up with anxiety. What if she read something deep and spilled it to the party-goers? Who would stop her if she did?

Charlotte looked up at Zero, giving him a small smile. "I'll think about it. Thanks for the invite." She said with a small nod, turning her attention back to Red. "Look, I think you should go. Of course if Cali goes, I may just have to cut her a new throat if she starts anything. You know how much I don't like the overly bubbly girl already. I may need you there to keep me behaving. Then again, after what she did, I'm not so sure you'd protect her."

She sighed, taking her hands from on top of his and running a hand through her hair instead. Gently, she touched his cheek. "You'll figure something out, Red. You always do. You have to remember that you're smart. You can easily solve this." She retracted her hand with a small smile and a faint blush skittered across her cheeks. She looked down. "Anyway..."

Red dropped his forehead back down to the desk and heard the door open and shut. The clicking of heels on the ground made it clear that the teacher had returned once more to the detention room and all should remain silent. Red had no problem with that. He was ready to think up a plan for himself, and the only way he could was to focus all of his attention on the matter at hand. What am I going to do...

Cali ,who was back in her seat at the cafeteria, was smiling brightly, with her head held high and her blue eyes on the clock. There was only a few short minutes left until detention let out and Red and a few others would return out of detention to spend the rest of the period in the cafeteria. With her purse - pink and scented just like herself - laying on the chair next to her, Red's reserved seat was ready for him any minute.

Cali smiled, eyes locked on the clock, and murmured to herself, "Three... Two... One." The lunch-detention kids who only had half a detention were allowed to return, and she smiled happily, awaiting the burly, angry, and probably flustered Red to approach her. She loved when he was mad, for it brought out his raw manliness, his temper which flared like the sun, and the way he used his muscles was absolutely enchanting. She loved it.

Charlotte sighed, sitting back in her seat. Her eyes found the clock and she watched the little red hand tick past each little mark on the round thing that hung on the wall. And finally, just finally, the time to leave came. Char collected her things and shoved them in her bag before standing. She looked over Red once, sighing and shaking her head.

"As much as I'd love to claw the frilly girls eyes out right now, and should probably stay far away from her, do you want me to come with you? I mean, I can if you want b-but if you don't..." Her voice betrayed her and she mentally cursed it. "I'll just...stop talking. I'm..I'm gonna go..." She said, slinging the bag over her shoulder and turning to leave.

Red stood and looked at Charlotte, nodding and gathering his things. "I think it would be best for the situation at hand if you were to accompany me, Charlotte. But however, it might just start a fight. do we want that? The choice is yours, Charlotte." His voice was sullen and low. He sounded like a man who was truly beaten. All his life, Red's tough exterior was impenetrabe, and now one girl with enough evil inside of her had dug her way deep enough into Red's armor.

He slung the black bag over his shoulder, standing next to the small girl with the pink hair. His sweater clung to his muscles nicely, as did his black pants, but even the snappy clothes and features as handsome as the devil couldn't boost his confidence. He looked downward, his icy blue eues full of sadness and curiosity, and asked her, "What do you want to do?"

Charlotte stopped at his words, looking up at him through those enchanting red eyes of hers. Yes, even though they were red, she sure did have a pretty little gaze, one that normally made a heart melt. But it was filled now with sadness, but utter trust for the man that stood there next to her, and somewhere deep within her, she knew everything was going to be okay.

"I'll be ready for anything. But I doubt she'd try anything with me. But still, like I said, I'll stay by your side. No way in all hell would I let you go through this alone if I had the choice." She gave him her small, genuine smile. "And I do have the choice. So let's go and deal with this, hm?" She said, her eyes never leaving his.

Red gave a smile and even a small chuckle at her. Her perkiness was just what he needed. Though it was somewhat of a shallow happiness, it was just the burst he needed to be able to go the cafeteria. Her energy and ability to raise his spirits bit by bit gave him the ability to even crinkle his eyes slightly with his expression. "That sounds great." Red stepped past Charlotte and got to the door of the detention room. He pushed the door open and help it open for her.

Cali looked up at the clock once more, blue eyes laying on the minute hand impatiently. Her fingers drummed into the lunch table, chipping her pink nail polish at the tips, representing in a symbolic way her patience crumbling apart. She knew the time he should have been back in the cafeteria, which was a solid five minutes ago. She chewed on the bottom of her lip and lowered her eyes to the open seat beside her that seemed to mock her in it's void.

Finally Cali spotted Red, opening the door for Charlotte and then following her into the cafeteria. They were smiling and laughing, and as Cali dug the nails of her free hand into her thigh, she realized the ferocity of her own rage. But she smiled and relaxed back in the seat, knowing that there was only one seat next to her available, and Red would be taking it. "Red, over here! Let's talk!" She waved her hand into the air as she saw Red finally spot her in the crowded cafeteria.

It was a relief to hear his chuckle, and she grinned up at him, the smile radiant and completely genuine. "You see, I'm a vampire. I'm scary." She said, giving a cute smile and a bubbly laugh. "Okay, maybe not so much." And it was true, she wasn't fierce or irrational until it really came down to it. And around Red, she had no reason to act like something she was not. She could be herself completely, and she loved that.

The walk to the cafeteria had been a relatively good one, Charlotte had really laughed. It had been a long time since she had laughed like that. Even in the light of this situation, she couldn't help it. Red was simply an intriguing being to be around, and he could always hold her attention. Maybe that was why she was beginning to realize her feelings for him.

As they entered the cafe, Charlotte curtsied sarcastically to Red. "Why thank you, kind gentleman." She teased with a giggle, the grin placed on her face. And then she heard Cali and her grin fell. Her expression turned cold, and her eyes lost their sparkle. Thankfully, and almost ironically, a boy that was sitting across from the seat Cali had saved for Red stood and left the cafeteria. So Charlotte gladly strode over, plopping down in the seat.

Red sat at the chair beside Cali, still smiling and chuckling out the last of the laughs over his and Charlotte's joke. His body was close to Cali's, but his eyes and smile were all focused on Charlotte. Red's anxiety and worries seemed to disappear from existance. Another minute or two, there was no doubt it would all return, but for now Red was smiling and beaming exceptionally with happiness.

Cali dug her nails deeper into her thigh until it caused a great pain and she jumped slightly. Her eyes landed on Red, and she turned the chair sideways to completely face the happy man at her side. A moment passed before she coughed and lay her hand on his elbow which lay on the table. His arm was warm and strong, all the power eminating from his limb.

"So Red, what did you get detention for? And you need to be more conscious with your temper! We can't have you running off to detention every day!" Her smile returned, and even some of her perkiness was genuine. She saw his eyes slowly and gradually move off of Charlotte and onto her, though the light in the pupils had vanished.
