Red couldn't fight the urge any longer. He crooked his head until he could see over his shoulder to view his follower. He stopped in his tracks and turned his entire body around. He heard footsteps running away, down the hall that they had already passed. They ran away, wanting to remain a mystery to Red. He grinded his teeth and continued on into the classroom that he was already late for.

He sat at the desk, again the one to the far left and in the back, while opening up the novel Charlotte had given him. Lunch would soon be upon him, and as he contemplated how awful detention is, he somehow hated that he'd only be in the unfriendly room for half of his lunch period. Seeing how he would return to the cafeteria, he knew Cali would unload her entire day on him, scold him for getting a half-detention, then go along with the flirting as usual.

He stared at the first page of the novel, then turned the pages quickly. Red was a speedy reader, and if he kept it up, he could return the book to Charlotte tonight and have a discussion on the reading in an analytical sense. This vision seemed dreamy, but he knew it would most likely not happen. Red was already in a snarky mood, and by the end of the day, he would be in no mood to see anyone. Much like now, as he stared into the distance as the girl behind him kicked his seat.

Charlotte hummed ever so quietly as she worked, flicking her wrist with each stroke of the pencil. Her passion and talent for art really was something, and if she wanted, she could go far with it. Charlotte was too modest to show anyone her work, however, and she covered it up with her arm or flipped it over every time someone would walk by. She would glance up at the clock ever so often, watching the little red hand tick slowly around the clock. She suddenly became very aware of the ticking noise it made, and gnawed on her bottom lip.

After what could have been counted as a very short time, Charlotte blew the pencil erasing's off of the paper with the beautifully drawn sketch, and she glanced down at it with a smile. Her signature flowed onto the paper next, just a simple and messy scribble of her initials. It was just barely visible in the corner, and she admired the drawing for a few more seconds before closing the sketch book.

From his other class, Red looked around. No one of interest to be seen. Things were moving much too slowly for Red's personal taste. He tried once again to get to the halfway mark of the book, blue eyes on the pages while the angry expression from his face disipated into oblivion. The girl's blood flowed like water in a river; sweet and red and delicious in it's cruelty.

Red smiled slightly, until once again, the girl behind him began kicking at his desk. He sat up straight, taking deep breaths to remain calm. Every kick sent irritating vibrations up his back, and seemingly into his brain where they added up to one dangerous furious-bomb. Just as he was about to say something to the girl, the bell rang. He glanced up, with disbelief at how fast the time had flew, but gathered his things and headed for his last class before lunch.

Already at a level-ten anger measurement, Red was giving off a cold ora to those who passed him. He wanted the next period to move along even faster now than the one before. He felt his heart racing with the red-hot emotion, his teeth grinding against each other, and the muscles in his arms flexing while he tried his best to control himself.

The classroom door was open, and for once he was early. The irritation he had was actually benefitting him for once. Taking a seat next to the window, Red opened his book once more, and felt a farmiliar presence by his side. He didn't need to look up to know who it was, so he just smiled instead, focused on the book.

~ Woah sorry for the confusion, I thought we were having detention during breakfast (which I thought was right now) But I think everyone else thinks detention is during lunch ~

"We elves gotta stick together. Especially the night elves." He took the last drag off his cigarette and blew the smoke out. He flicked his ring finger back and forth so the cherry would come off. Walking over to Jannee he said "The names Zero and I'm having a little get together tonight at the pier It'd be cool if you came. Say around eight o'clock." He looked at her with his red eyes. "I gotta go. I have weight training right now. I'll catch ya later" he walked out of the classroom and began to make his way to the locker room. As he walked he say Rika and walked over to her and saw her being bullied.

A girl said "No one likes a halfling" Her friends laughed. Zero walked by and said "No one likes someone who is easy and where almost everyman has gone before. So stay off you back and quit making fun of people." The girls friend took a shot at him and he just stood there. Once he was close enough, Zero grabbed the guys fist and said "Learn to fight bitch." He pushed the guy into the locker and said "Come on I know what class you have next I'll walk you." Rika said "Umm thanks. I have Biology next." They walked down the hall. It's true Rika was half night elf and half light elf but she didn't like people making fun of her. Nightleves are considered the scum in the light realm but in the midnight and nightmare realm it was better. They were the top of the line creatures there. That's why everyone wanted a piece of them.

~ so should we just say detention is during lunch and right now we're all in class? ~

Charlotte stood slowly, collecting her things and slipping her pencil behind her ear. She walked out of class slowly, suddenly feeling drained and tired. She was not used to this feeling, as it was one she normally did not get. Charlotte stuck close to the lockers, making sure that there was something she could hold herself up with were she to fall. She realized it might have been caused because of the lack of blood in her system. Her nose scrunched up at the thought of needing more blood and she sighed. She would have to wait until the detention for lunch was over to grab something.

Charlotte headed off toward her next class, her hand resting firmly against the lockers for the support she was afraid that she would need.

Red looked around the classroom, noticing Charlotte's empty seat. He raised a curious eyebrow and raised his pale, powerful hand into the air. After asking to be excused from the room, Red made his way into the vacant hallways in search of the absent girl. While his nostrils and eyes used their super-sensitive abilities to search for any trace of her, Red began left and caught sight of her leaning against the lockers, drained and unenthusiastic.

Red stepped up to her side, offering an arm to her, and using the other to take her books from her. He wasn't exactly asking, more like forcing his help in the most polite way possible. "What seems to be the problem? Afraid of detention?" He teased lightly, trying to break the tension and steal the focus away from his good deed.

Charlotte tried to protest as Red took her books, but she let him anyways. She stared at his arm for a moment before slipping hers through his. She shook her head slowly, walking with him and yawning. It wasn't that she minded him taking her books, it was that she hated to seem incapable. She was a vampire, and she was supposed to be able to hold her own. But she supposed a little help wouldn't hurt her too much. Her eyes flicked to his and she shook her head.

"No, it's definitely not that." She said, forcing a small smile. "I didn't have breakfast, and I just barely...ate...yesterday. So I'm feeling really..." She paused, having to force the words out. "Dizzy..." Charlotte murmured.

Red continued to lead her down the hallway, supporting her easily and carrying her books with no effort. They reached their destination rather quickly and Red looked at the doorknob as the door flew open. Another perk of being a demon: telekinesis. The two made their way back to their seats, Red laying her books down on her desk and then sitting Charlotte down into the off-gray colored seat before taking his own seat right beside her.

Digging through his bag, he pulled out a book and turned to the page the teacher up front was lecturing from. He turned the pages as the class went on, keeping Charlotte in the corner of his eye just in case she would need any further assistance. The reak of pink-bottle perfume hit his nostrils, and the door opened to showcase Cali stepping inside.

Why...? He watched her hand the teacher a pass and a special note, then began walking back towards Charlotte and Red, a smile on her face and a bounce in her step. Bending over to get to their sitting-level, Cali whispered under her breath, "Guess who's in this class permanently now!" Staring directly into Red's shock-filled eyes as if she only saw true love reflecting back in his.

Zero and Rika reached a classroom. "I'll see you later." He began to walk off but turned around and said "Oh yeah, you should come o m little gathering tonight too." "At the pier?" "Yup." He began to walk off without letting her say yes or no. He knew that she'd come.

Once he got into his gym clothes he went to the weight room. Stratching he saw the teacher walk in. "Sixx come here." He called. Zero went up to the front and started to talk to the teacher. "Where have you been the past few days?" Zero looked at him and said "In a holding cell."

Dale watched with amusement as Cali skipped her way in, a bright aura powering her steps towards Red. Even though everyone could see how much he detested being in her presence, Cali seemed to take no notice of the rejection. Dale smirked and found himself studying her for the rest of the period. She really was a thing of beauty, with her brightly colored outfit, bold blue eyes, and her shiny cascade of brown curls flowing over her shoulders. Her everlasting smile stayed imprinted onto her faces the minutes ticked by, the cheerfulness of her attitude reflecting in her strong perfume.

Charlotte let him take her to class, not protesting any longer. No shock came to her as he mentally opened the door, as he was Red and that was just how he did things. Honestly, she had gotten so used to it that nothing about him shocked her any longer. Then, realizing that she was thinking too much about him as he sat her in her seat, she blushed and murmured a small thanks. Just as Charlotte was beginning to relax, the worst thing possible happened. Cali strode in with that much too bright smile on her face. Char didn't suppress a groan as she bounced toward them. God, did she smell overly floral. Charlotte had her own perfume, and the scent was sweet and a pleasure, but nothing strong like this. It was hard for her not to bring her hand up to keep away the strong perfume.

She glanced slightly to Red as the girl stared into his eyes. His amazing blue eyes that sometimes sent shivers up Charlotte's spine. She realized her thoughts again and looked away.

Cali bounced back a step and took the free seat in front of Charlotte, turning around to smile and offer a perfectly-manicured hand. "Cali, and you are?" Cali knew exactly who Charlotte was. Cali knew a lot of things, and wasn't about to forget any of them. Cali knew the one way to win a fight with another female, become her friend and use that to her advantage. In all logic, it wasn't a malicious gesture, more protective over anything. Cali could and would be the one to make Red happy, and Cali would make that clear to any and all females.

Red covered his face slightly with a hand and wiped downward, staring at the clock and calculating. This means... I'm going to spend two solid hours with Cali, this period, then lunch... No more breaks in my day. The scent was a bit overbearing. Red could feel his own cologne losing a potency battle with her floral scent. His sweater and most likely Charlotte's clothing would reak of the pink bottle for a day or two.

Charlotte watched the perky girl turn, her chin in her hand. She raised an eyebrow at her hand. There was no way in hell that she was going to befriend the girl that was overly obsessed with Red. Red. The guy that she knew all too well. She knew he liked to read and that he was super smart. Char also knew that he had nice smelling cologne and that she could talk with him for hours on end if this girl didn't interrupt them. She knew when he was angry and she could always tell when it wasn't a good time to talk with him.

Oh, God...

Char's realization hit her like a brick wall. She was beginning to get a crush on Red. Cali wouldn't like that at all, and Charlotte really didn't feel like dealing with her. She eyed her hand once more, but didn't raise hers. "I'm Charlotte." Her answer was cut and short, and she looked away from Cali to her books with a 'friendly' smirk.

Cali smiled, turning around feeling somewhat victorious. Her eyes landed on the chalkboard ahead of her, the perkiness never leaving her expression or her spirit. If the girl already felt this threatened by Cali, then Cali knew she had Red on a silver platter. No competition amde it even easier to take him for herself, and she sighed happily with that thought in her head.

Red lay his head down on the desk, turning his head away from Cali and Charlotte, to look out the window. He stared blankly, without thinking a single thought. Who knew who would overhear his inner thoughts and spread it around like gossip. He decided he needed to at least say something to Charlotte, who seemed less than enthusiastic about Cali being here.

He lifted her pen with his mind once more and scribbled out "Just smile." It was the only thing he could think to say. He didn't look at her, and didn't falter in his breath at all, but remained still as a statue in his seat, with a blank, unemotional ora about him.

Cali tapped the shoulder of the boy in front of her, Dale. She was in need of a pen, since hers had fallen out of her bag in the previous class. Though her mind was focused on Red, and Charlotte-her non-competition, she still wanted to look like she was paying attention in class. "Excuse me, Dale? I need to borrow a pen..." She whispered behind him, leaning up in her seat to get closer to whisper even softer, as to not disturb the class.

Charlotte rolled her eyes as Cali turned, feeling like her energy was being drained even more. She didn't have time to think about Cali and her closeness to Red. She didn't feel like being jealous and she didn't have enough energy to even begin to care. Charlotte knew that Red was her friend and just that. The vampire couldn't get her hopes up, after all, Cali had pretty much claimed the demon. The girl shuddered and sighed, not wanting to even think about this. This should be the last thing on her mind!

She watched her pen raise and waited for it to drop before writing back. "Whatever. No energy."

The request caught Dale by surprise, the moment he saw her turn around his heart rate had picked up intensely. He blushed as he tried not to make eye contact with Cali. "Yeah sure..." He said picking a pen off of his desk and handing it to her over his shoulder. Phew, that was close. Dale had no intention of talking to her, he was too scared he'd say something weird and screw everything up. Sure he was a player and had years of experience with girls, but Cali was different. She seemed so confident and unnaturally bubbly. Besides, she was already wrapped around Red's finger, Dale restricted himself from even thinking he had a chance with her.
