So you feel as though things should just be kept as they were? Just stick the RSable Holiday Items in the Holiday Shop and then also having the option to vend/MB for them, too?

Yeah, I would prefer to just keep the Holiday Shop open (I love to restock/vend/Mystety Box) but with the opening of the Alegarten shop it's obvious that the staff isn't going to go back to the Holiday Shop format.
I just don't understand why things need to be changed when they're working just fine the other way...sometimes changes are good, but in this case it's not only not needed it's a negative change

Oh, even without the change, you'll still be getting less and less, thanks to inflation. I'd rather have less, but not have the entire economy crash as well. Picking the lesser of two evils.
Remember when 3M was enough for a 1 month GA and you still had loose change? Yeah, inflation. That was way before the gift cards, btw.
From various posts, the general tone has been that restocking isn't fun, and most people don't enjoy it so they think a change was needed.
This format isn't the worst thing in the world but it's just so boring and I don't like it :(
-laughs- Yup I think you got what I meant right! If they took away my ToTing and Pumpkin Patch I would lose it. I seriously look forward to screaming about getting yet another gourd at the patch and having to wait 45 minutes for another try grumpgrump! And Toting is the best! Living the childhood dream forever (I mean I could still do that irl, but as a 27 non-breeder and no wee relations to drag around for free loot... I'd probably get more doors slammed in my face than goodies. Or I'd get hit on r__r... which is even worse -laugh-)!
I definitely meant the new morostide items that we typically see int he holiday shop (like last years wigs and costumes, and all those cat eyes and pumpkin cards, and so on) as well as the old ones. Though, in regards to the highly inflated old ToTing prizes.. I wouldn't mind those being permanently given to Quentin either, the old one's of course. Kinda like the mindset of the old one's can go to Quentin, and the new ToTing items can be.. ToTed like we always do!
Then when a year passes and it's time for 2014's morostide, the previous years ToTing goodies could in turn be given to Quentin. So that way no one gets frustrated because OMFG I WANT THAT SO BAD THESE NEW ITEMS OMG BUT I KEEP GETTING LAST YEARS CANDIES AND I SWEAR IF I GET ONE MORE I'M GOING TO STAB THE USER WITH IT SOMEHOW ARGH. Because that's what's going through my head most of October XD; (I hope that made sense)
omg I think that would actually be wonderful. There are so many different trick or treat items, and so many of them (especially the outdated stuff) are obviously not going to be thrown back in the mix, it would be a great way to move them back in!
also I know that feeling so much XD
Ok omg I'm glad that's not just me and a few of my friends! I swear every year I'm like ... not sure if want new goodies, or want still inflated last years items. Then I end up just getting the same 5 1 sP goodies from last year a hundred times and internally I'm screaming and crying and visualizing strangling people who literally have no control over what items I get.
However, I would love Quentin to get control over the past years items! Even if it's only for October, or only the inflated ones. I mean I know he askes for the same items he'd be giving out, but technically speaking the rarity could always be altered for those items in question. And if they end up deflating ridiculously, their rarity could be changed back. Especially if it was only for a month or so.
I find the game updates wonderful, but I do miss having quests as an option. I don't have and can't afford a Gold Account, so selling all the items I get instead is nearly impossible because I can't autoprice. I'd rather do all my copy/pasting to do the quests to be guaranteed at least some money than to price my shop over and over and over again trying to outdo a thousand people with GAs who can price a huge shop with two or three clicks and watching my items decrease in price every time.
What I'd want is a mid-range quest that gives out nothing but sP -- I honestly laugh at these allegations that Saggitarius gives out gobs of money because I have literally never turned a profit doing his quests -- if, say, the Computer Geek only gave out cash (and had his item range expanded to avoid inflating "his" items) I would do those every day. Even if the payouts weren't as much as I could make selling the items I would rather do the quests and get something than sit through the agonizing process of pricing a shop by hand and waiting for someone to buy from it. I guess it wouldn't solve the Economic Problem or whatever but hey, can't put a price on fun, right?
I've read bits and pieces of this thread... and to be honest, I haven't had issues making sP on the site. I was wondering, though, since the site seems to have a lack of money sinks, what about a tax on sales? And it doesn't have to be anything huge, but a small tax on any sale, user or NPC shop. I feel something like that, though some people would be upset about it at first, would ultimately contribute to the hopes of a stable economy.
I didn't say Subeta is doing any good for it's user base, just stating that it's a game and that one shouldn't expect to achieve (or receive) everything from events as it's not possible to "100%" this game. Might I also add my EDIT:
Yeah...it's sad, hunh? People just seem to want things handed to them D: If we have to go with anything, I'd still say a Morostide shop layout similar to the current Alegarten one we just had would be much better than getting this year's and last year's Morostide items as rare prize drops from Quentin.
From what I've read from your current explanations, were you referring to the Rare/Super Rare items that were really hard to obtain these past Morostides as random quest prizes from Quentin? If that's the case, then why not? You just weren't referring to getting current Morostide items from him as random drops, right? Because if you are referring to current, what would possibly be RSables, then only a CHANCE of getting current Morostide items from Quentin and only 20-30 tries a day for that rare chance is unfair and would jack the prices of the items up sky high. :/
:P Exactly to the point that you think that Holiday RSables should be exactly that, RSable? Because if so, then yesss!!! XD

Expect the price of everything to climb proportionally to compensate for the tax, furthering inflation.
WE MUST BE ABLE TO RESTOCK RESTOCKABLES! XD
Higher prices, higher taxes, more money taken out of the system. Less money in the system, the higher value of a single sP. Higher sP value, the lower the prices will go. Think about economics for a second. People want to sell. If the demand for an item at a staggering cost is so low that none are being sold, the seller will drop the price. Initially, sure, there will be inflation. But that is a reaction to the change. Eventually it will start to level itself out until it meets a ground of a happy medium and a new money sink will prevent too much sP from devaluing everything.
It doesn't make sense that everything would be hyper inflated when sP has no value. There would be no transactions. But the aim is to make a pretty penny so the sellers will bend to the will of the market in order to make sP. Think about every time you have been undercut by someone who just wants a "quick sell."
NPC shops are a terrible sink, IMO. Saggi dishes out 500% return on sP spent sometimes whereas most items in NPC shops only cost 2000-4000 sP. It is funny how many items I've purchased at 2222 because of the prices. Keith's graph is a visual representation of the issue.
Why put taxes on shop sales as an sP sink when the Millionaire Center restriction could be lifted instead? The only reason we have it is that Keith used to put one week GA medals for sale in there on very rare occasions. If he no longer intends to do this we don't need a one item every 12 hours restriction. Then there's this new system of rotating items throughout the year. Why? This makes sense for clothing and wigs but not for weapons.
Putting a tax on shop sales would only make things more difficult for new and poorer players. I've noticed that most items I sell now are under 2K because I'm guessing that's all many players are prepared to pay for revamped quests which give out very little sP. For example, it's certainly not worth spending more than that on Nori because she just hands out two junk items and a couple of hundred sP.
What's stopping me from raising my prices, though? Furthering inflation, by lowering the power of 1 million SP, though?
If someone can buy less things with 1 million SP, taxes or not, it's inflation.
Prediction, if this implemented, I'm expecting most users to higher their prices to lower their losses, solving...not a whole lot with the entire inflation problem. Yes, you'll have a money sink, but what's the point if the economy is as bad?
I definitely did not read through this whole thread, but I'm just astounded how much trouble people are having making sP. Subeta has to be the absolute easiest pet site you can earn currency on. I can raise 10m sP is less than a week on here and on Neopets I don't think I ever had that much np.
There are so many outlets to make sP on I don't even bother trying to hit them all up for the highest potential growth in earnings. But they're there.
One thing I did notice is how "harder" in a sense restocking has become because the shops stay so stocked all the time anymore. It's not a huge deal to me since i read earlier in the thread that Keith is doing away with that? It would explain, but it was still a little disappointing (I enjoyed restocking, I sucked at it on Neopets).
