Yes, totally burned down! It's been long enough now (2 years in May) that it's one of those "Hey! Did I ever tell you about that time...?" funny stories I tell random people. It was Mother's Day weekend (aka: super busy restaurant hell weekend), and I'm a super light sleeper and woke up to the sound of people yelling outside. I was about to go full on "old person yelling" at them when I peaked out the window and saw some dude walking through the parking lot, no shirt on, holding a dog.. another person looking kinda dazed right next to him also in pajamas.. Then BANGBANGBANG, someone's pounding on our door yelling "Fire! Fire! You need to get out NOW!"
I said a "Oh shit!" and then yelled for my roommate to grab the cell phone, wallets, and the dog.. Walked out into the living room and just saw ORANGE outside of our patio. We got out with about 15 minutes to spare. It's actually pretty terrifying to think that, had one of our neighbors across the parking lot not been up with a crying baby, we might not have had anyone to bang on everyone's door in time to get them out.
And I actually gave up on Photoshop when I realized I knew nothing (the last verson I used was... Photoshop CS? I think?) and I've been sketching on Corel Painter.. However I hate the brushes in Painter and it's SUPER not intuitive. It took me forever to figure out how to select and move a single part of a single layer -_-... I feel like I'm going to need to go back to some version of Photoshop when I decide it's time to actually color anything and move on from sketching, but I don't wanna pay for it ><;
https://ibb.co/eZZWPv is what I'm working on now.. I've recently gotten into the Dragon Age series of computer games.. They're like Skyrim (an old love of mine!) but with more personality. I love my "Inquisitor".. She's a badass archer. Inspiration can come from anywhere, I suppose!
Still in Columbus, yes! Life is honestly pretty good! Not doing anything amazing like delivering babies (wow!), but luckily in a pretty good headspace!
Married thing never happened (monogamy is hard for some people... not hard for me -_-;), and the house thing therefore unsurprisingly fell apart.. I moved in with a friend, met someone awesome, our apartment burned down (oh I wish I was lying here), we realized insurance is a really good thing because we were financially FAR better off after than before, and then bought a new and improved house-- Because quite frankly, if my shit is gonna burn down, I would like it to be MY fault.. Not the fault of some idiot who lived at the far end of a 12-unit building.
It's been an eventful little while that's for sure!
I haven't written anything in SO LONG. I just got gifted an amazing (and far too expensive!) tablet for m bday a couple weeks ago, so I'm working on sliding back into art after like.. 8 years of not doing anything with it. It's both awful and amazing at the same time. Awful to try to learn photoshop again.. Amazing because I somehow don't COMPLETELY suck and I'm not sure how or why.
omg yes. I randomly logged in some day in June and someone had ganked two of my pets' names, so they were named Livia927649_1 or something.
Then I realized I had twelve loyalty boxes sitting in my inventory from.. who knows when.. and decided to try to do some things again. Hah.
I'm amazed I haven't given it up again. I have a bad track record of coming back for a month, going away for a year, coming back for two weeks, going away again.. Rinse, repeat.
I thought about you the other day though! Wondered if you were still writing and active and what you were up to! It's so good to see you around!
