As Fireside ends, the Great Bonfire dwindles down and the start of Luminaire is almost upon us, I am sending this message to all of my Subeta friends.

This year I am planning not to send Luminaire gifts and am asking that you also do not gift me - either under the tree or via the gift center. Last year I found the gift giving and receiving to be completely overwhelming. And with so many "real life" holiday things to do, I found it hard to find so much Subeta time too. So many people to try to find the perfect gift for and so many things coming to me. While, at other times of year any single one of those gifts would have made me smile and brought me joy for days or weeks, I found myself unable to fully appreciate any of them simply because there were so many.

I am not looking to spoil the holiday for anyone, nor to take away from the happiness it may bring you.

I am so blessed and lucky to have my family and my friends, and that includes my Subeta friends who make everyday on this site so special and appreciated all year round. The only gift I want for myself is the continued privilege of your friendship. I love all our chatting and battling and other Subeta activities and truly look forward to the time I spend here with you.

So during Luminaire, I will continue to chat and laugh and battle (that's in the Battle Coliseum, of course) and will be delighted to share my time here with you. And I may be here less often so that I can also share all the holiday joys with local family and friends in "real life". I wish all of you a very Happy, Joyous, Healthy and Peaceful holiday - which ever one or ones you may celebrate.

But there are those, even on Subeta, who are not as lucky as I feel. Who might be lonely or feel left out with so much going on all around them. So I invite all of you to join me in this group dedicated to finding empy Luminaire trees on Subeta and filling them so that no one feels that way on Luminaire when the trees open. I did some of this last year and it was my favorite and most meaningful Luminaire activity. So this year, this is where I plan to send my gifts and I hope each of you will also consider participating at what ever level you are able. Empty Tree Gifters.

You have my most heartfelt appreciation for all the time you have shared with me, all the support and encouragement you have given me and especially for being my friend.

Yes, books, books, books, books ... you can never have too many books!

Just opened my Luminaire tree and wanted to thank you so much for the books you gave me. Always my very favorite thing. Hope you had a great holiday season and are enjoying the beginning of the new year.
