he is SO bad advocating for himself too. like one of the nights he was in SO much pain that he was crying and scraped all off his blisters but wouldn't use the call button because he didn't want to "upset" the nurses. fuck i was mad so I told him to put me on speakerphone when she came back in the room and told her "hes an ass and won't ask for help, PLEASE tell him he's SUPPOSED to use the call button"

Bad way. Early August hubby was weeding the yard and got why we THOUGHT was a poison ivy rash on a Monday. But got progressively worse every day and it took 3 hospital visits to finally have him admitted. It ended up being a bad of facial cellulitis. His entire face swelled up, blistered, his eyes swelled shut, I honestly thought he’d die. It was awful.

But our families REALLY pulled together. My brother in laws helped me SO much on the Friday he finally got admitted, one came to help me with the kids and the other stayed at the hospital with hubby to advocate for him because hunny had barely slept and hadn’t eaten since the Monday.

When the brother at the hospital had to go home my mom took over. Hubbys parents were in Ontario but flew home Saturday and came to stay with me and the kids and went back and fourth to the hospital. He was released late Monday afternoon. My FIL went home Monday but MIL stayed with us until Thursday. Which was a godsend because hubby was on a ton of medications that I needed to manage on top of two very traumatized kids who saw daddy’s face be so scary.

Couple weeks later when hubby came off the steroids he’d been on he started having panic attacks and mental breakdowns. Lasted about a week. It was horrible. And now we found out the steroids raised his cholesterol so high we’re having to change our diets.

Kids are still recovering from it. It was scary. They both freak if we’re not with them. It’s not been easy but we’re making it work. Then Tuesday my parents cat died and the kids are distraught. So it’s a lot again but we’re making it work. Most important thing is making sure the kids have the support they need.

She’s… a pistol lol she has so much sass and attitude. She makes life entertaining that’s for sure.
