YEAH, new years is better than CHRISTMAS for me and for lotsa ppl. LEMME EXPLAIN -some folks ARE NOT CHRISTIANS and who cares but see since NEW YEARS is a SECULAR holiday EVERYONE can enjoy it. Besides, new years is a transformational time for the PLANET and everyone on it --meaning this is a FRESH and a NEW year --we can start over --with resolutions, new jobs, do better in school, improve our health, ALL KINDS OF POSITIVE STUFF like that --its why I LUFF New years eve and new years day more!!

OH and this is just an old CUSTOM and superstition but my POPPA (rest his soul -he passed on 6 years ago but he was the best Poppa ever) always said to eat BLACK EYED PEAS for GOOD LUCK on new years day and he always did --I WILL TOO later on --just coz I like that custom. But see...I BETCHA his FAMILY and FRIENDS taught him that when he was a boy. I LOVE how things get passed ON from generation to generation. =)
