Ahh now that is a custom overlay "Personal" tab -> Pets -> "Custom Overlay" at the top of the page same row as "create pet" further right. It takes 500 CSC to upload art. (You can buy art from other users as long as they give permission to use the image in that way and you give them proper public credit listing them as the creator on the pet's profile)

SOME of the guidelines (found by clicking the "upload new" button) for art areeeeee:

" Keep it PG-13 and well within the current Subeta rules. No stealing artwork that wasn't made for or purchased by you. Quads and anthros only please - no humans, kemonomimi/gijinka, or inanimate objects. Fullbody artwork only - no busts/headshots. No images that represent pets from other pet sites. Props are allowed, but no minions or extra characters. No unaltered official Subeta artwork. Each image must be unique - two users cannot upload the same overlay.

Art Guidelines:

Format: 200x200 png file with either transparent or white background.
Digital artwork only.
Use the 'save for web' feature, avoid dithering/stray pixels etc.
Image must be drawn to fit the canvas, no squashing/stretching etc.
Integrate props in with the existing art quality - don't just paste objects on.
Don't simply adjust the hue/saturation/colour of official artwork - this distorts quality/lines.

When you say custom do you mean the custom little picture of the animal or the fancy shmancy profiles that folks come up with? (Love Shaylyn btw)
