No worries, things happen! Hmm, vultures and corvids are two big ones. scavenger birds. If I'm just going to list species though... Lammergeier, boreal owl, harpy eagle, african harrier hawk, secretary bird, black-throated magpie-jay, Steller's jay... kites, red and swallow-tailed in particular... I've some fondness for those seabirds that go on for all eternity as they do as well, terns, albatrosses... Peafowl, particularly the underappreciated green peafowl. pheasants, Lady Amherst's in particular... hmmm that's a decent list of them. So, yes and no. Mostly I'm better informed now. All that insider bird knowledge, haha. I'm aware of much more and more lesser known species than I was.
Yeah! I've been hanging around the Field museum for the past few years. It's some sort of ideal, honestly. Owls are the best, incidentally, except for all of the other birds that I am irrationally fond of that are also the best, but. y'know. Owls. Owls are really important. So, ah, I'm glad to hear that is the point, I guess, haha.
Glad to hear it-- if you want you can also set stuff to private without issue, but either way, I appreciate you going out of your way for this very much!
Yeah, but it feels awful when there's things left to do and all you can do is sit and rest and hope your brain eventually gets its act together again. Let alone the worry of being permanently (or semi-permanently) burnt out. I love birds so much though? So much. At the very least I have gotten the chance to be in that sort of sphere actually working on stuff in that vein and I really like it so there's that. I mean, honestly I have no idea what I'm doing or where I'm going, but man! Birds. Birds are great. I am an endless font of Bird Enthusiasm.
Yep, pretty much. The same thing as with everything else, I feel, haha. Everything is constantly changing and yet always the same.
Sure! I'm at https://twitter.com/itinerare (just feel free to chuck a request at me obviously, I just like the added privacy,) bane's at https://twitter.com/heyymoro , Iron is https://twitter.com/Absiste here.
Yeaaah, working at it slowly, but I mean. At the very least, minus overt stressors, it's not the worst from a day-to-day life experience sort of thing, just not very productive-- that part is utterly fried. Anyway, sounds like a neat path! Not something one usually thinks about, I think, but eh. Could be a lot worse than that sort of cheesy, haha. It's a solid plan. The idea here is to pursue something involving birds, and science, and bird science, but probably not actually that (because I don't know that I have the mentality for the old 'publish or perish' in me,) rather, the junction of that and technology somehow. It's a burgeoning thing, but roughly where my skills intertwine, so it's promising. That assumes that I can get my brain to, you know, be useful, which is the more immediate goal.
Similarly, he has changed both a lot and not at all. I get a kick out of it. I guess, but, at the same time, I'm not sure how I feel about time slipping by so quickly.
It's scattered across different sites and services but that's the one we're all basically on that's also probably the most convenient to just pick up. Worst case I figure that contact exists again in some form, at least, and we can work out further things if need be.
Folks are also here, while I'm thinking about it, but less consistently/frequently so.
