Nope, but I had the creepiest idea inspired by the TV show, Hannibal. :P That's my thing, to create creepy pets and make them almost... likeable. Kinda. I guess.
I got many of them through apps, actually! Exactly half, now that I go through them. Sometimes, I apply for ones that aren't getting much interest, though, which makes it a little easier as far as the competition aspect. (It scares me, too, trust me!) Like... Malpractitioner and Journalist. Those two didn't have that many applicants, as far as I remember. Satisfy and Shots, though, were a bit more of a fight to get.
Since I apply for real-word names, and not colors, sometimes I'm fighting tons of people and sometimes... surprisingly, not so much. Real Names get interest like CRAZY though. Recently, though, I've noticed some GREAT names in the pound. "Caught" was in there the other day, and I grabbed Terrified, a real-word named Angelic Feli, out of the pound a long while back. I still prefer applying, though!
Ah, I only just got back from a good week or two of school nonsense. Anyhow, I feel you on time issues! I missed some great pets because of that. Allegro, Chord... I was looking for a nice real-word music-related name, but whatever. I'll find my fix somewhere.
And I'm STILL addicted to making applications! I don't know why, it's silly. I guess I just love this kind of "creativity contest," as I see it. Many apply, only one gets the pet... definition of a contest, right there. :P But even without the whole "making pet pages" thing, I am super into applying for pets. It'll be my downfall. I'll be out of slots and find the perfect pet... xD
A few days ago I started to watch Log Horizon and Inari, Konkon, Koi Iroha. They are both ongoing as well, but both seem interesting. o3o (guess you have a good influence on me :D )
I watched Fruits Basket the first time when I was still in secondary school (ages ago), and rewatched it in every couple of years. To be honest I was really against it first. Anime is about big eyes I know, but Tohru was a bit much. O_O" But the story is lovely. :) I take it that you read the manga version? o: Or is there something I'm not aware of? I know that there are mangas that go further (and have details that are left out) of the anime version. o3o
