That was such a kind, and lovely comment that you sent me in response to mine, and my lack of a reply is everything to do with MY low energy, and nothing else. I can't ever spend as much time on subeta as I want due to the variety of issues with chronic pain and fatigue (and I'm 66, and ppl who say that 60 is the new 40 aren't living with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, and if they were they would know that 60 is more like 80).

But back to you-- I always enjoy people who share openly as you did about yourself and your life, and I'm sorry for the loss of your mother when she was so young. Mine was my "hubby" when he was 55, and it was almost 10 years ago, but the shock of it and the trauma are probably going to be with me always. I agree with your grandpa, aging is not for the timid (that's my version). I hope you can hold your head high when people sneer or comment snidely. I have never understood that kind of hatefulness.

And as for my support system, it's 12 step programs which are on the phone, free conference call lines. I'm pretty much homebound, though I do get out and walk in my huge apt. complex, but those phone mtgs are SO numerous and my fave is for adult children of alcoholics, where I have met some very good friends, and where I feel at home in a community of people I never see!! (and then my inner kids get to come HERE and play in a world of ppl I never see, it's such fun!!)
