Yessss I so want to know the story behind the Voynich Manuscript. It's also an item on Subeta! :D

It is very cool! I've never seen a concretion anywhere NEAR that size before, but the earth coughs up some weird shit on its own without out help. Haha.

They're pretty sure the Bloop was just a glacier calving. What else is on there?

Hyena 9 years ago

Haha, idk about that, but thanks. Not like I'm president ;)

I did! But based on my previous studies in geoscience I agree with the interpretation that it's a naturally formed concretion. I've seen that almost onion-y layered look on such natural concretions before, though obviously on a much smaller scale! It's a remarkable object regardless, but there's no way it was manmade.

Ugh I just accidentally deleted your comment instead of hitting 'reply'

Yeah, they were weird like that. I guess the quipu is considered close enough. They didn't use wheels, either!

Mmmm foooood. I should really do more cooking.

Yup, 'history' begins whenever humans start writing stuff down, which in many areas was quite recent, so people do tend to underestimate the depth of prehistory! Which, as an archeologist, is kind of my thang (and paleoanthropology, while not my focus, drives that point home very well indeed).

Hnnnnhg, jealous. I've heard that about Thailand too. I want to eat my way through so much of the world hahaha
