We have friends with embroidery machines, BUT we both want to do it by hand! It's more impressive that way, and I look forward to getting the learning experience from it. It'll be a LOT though, for sure! LOL
We have an embroidery machine but it's very old and the software doesn't work and the hardware requires a type of port that modern computers don't have anymore XD so it'll be by hand. We're going to map it all out and mock-up and then get fabric and frame it and just... embroider for 3 million years lmao
Recovery had been fine! Worst part was the first week- I half-dozed on the couch sitting up whenever I got so exhausted that I couldn't be awake any longer. But couldn't lay down because the drains were toward my back, and sides/front were no-go. Once the drains were out, I had some very helpful pillows to prop myself on and then could actually rest! And then when the vest was fully off (I think about a month after surgery?), life pretty much got back to normal without issue.
Nope, no convention plans at all this year! Next year though-- I swore my first cosplay after top surgery would be Mollymauk, and that's still true. Surgery happened in April, so once the current stuff is done I need to get the coat going so it can be properly and fully embroidered (oof). Currently we're working on a pair of outfits for our local SCA branch baron and baroness, who are our very good friends who recently got elected to the position. They normally do early period (like 1100s or earlier) Norse/Roman garb, but they wanted to look "fancy" for the Twelfth Night event and so Runic volunteered to make them 1500s Italian clothes. It's... a LOT. We've been working on them most of the year but unfortunately not really ENOUGH to avoid the endgame crunch XD oh well!
psh, silly pet site is not a priority at all! Do not worry a bit <3 thank you for the CSC!
We're good, just busy. Lots of sewing right now!
